Next Level actually tweeted that they retweeted that because they were fans and had no idea what was happening in the Direct. Platinum tweeted about it though.

If one character out of probably 10 or more newcomers is going to stop you from paying for the game? Then you probably didn't really want it all that much to begin with.

I do respect the diversity and them going out on a limb with some of the oddball character choices, and I do agree, CosmicQueen, that it adds a new, vibrant, colorful rejuvenation to the series, but it's just too mind-boggling for me to get over how they've ignored the few essential characters like Ridley, and thrown the Wii Fit Trainer and ROB at us. I have no problem with the characters. The problem I have is that they are taking the place of the characters we are begging for.

If I was in his position, making one of the biggest hyped games of every console generation, I certainly wouldn't pick WFT and Rosalina for newcomers, and I would definitely make sure fan-favorties got in, without my fans having to constantly worry if they were getting in or not.

You also have to think that Rosalina comes from a new era of pretty much what is THE Nintendo series. An era that's not represented at all aside from FLUDD in Mario's moveset. Sure there's Bowser Jr to rep that era as well, but when you put him side by side with Rosalina. You get that the obvious choice is Rosalina as she overs something a little more that we don't have in the Mario reps.

And Metroid? And Ridley? Lovely games and all and as you see from my signature I support Ridley's inclusion, but compared to Mario, Wii Fit, and Animal Crossing?

They don't sell as well. So maybe new reps for the a fore series mentioned are more of a priority to Sakurai and Nintendo. Than a second (or third if you count Zero Suit Samus) for Metroid.

Pfffff. I don't know what you're talking about, man. WFT seems like a cool addition, and I personally love what I've seen of Rosalina so far. I could honestly care less about Ridley, K. Rool, all those guys. What new would they bring to the table? Another flying character, another burly character. If you want those, there's plenty of options for you.

That's just me, though.

Rosalina is a fan favorite in Japan.

WFT is another matter entirely. (Speaking entirely of fans of course, because I think she's a cool idea.)

Ok. You got me there hahaha. Totally agree. I do have to say that you should take your fans into consideration a little though, which I understand they takes us into consideration a lot, but the whole Ridley/K. Rool thing is still a big, mind-boggling, slap in the face to me though.

As for Rosalina, I am fine with her being a newcomer, I just don't think she is very hype worthy, we need some others to be announced. Her move set does look very mind-boggling though.

You realize that this entire game is one giant marketing thing by Nintendo, right? Who's to say that Sakurai wasn't the only reason WFT got in? Perhaps the higher ups wanted her in to promote a WiiFitU or something.

And I for one think WFT was an amazing idea. What they're doing with Villager looks hilarious, and Rosalina > Bowser Jr. any day.

Seriously, the only character that I feel truly deserved a shot was Isaac (and possibly little mac), but now I'm afraid they've given up on the golden sun franchise.

K Rool would be great, but I would much rather they represent new series' before adding another character from games that already have several reps (and yes this includes Rosa, but at least she plays differently than other characters)

I agree, but the P.S. part is really just a matter of opinion. Bowser Jr. is more relevant in games today than K. Rool, so what are you basing it on that makes you laugh?

But she's not necessarily going to take away time from important characters just because she was shown off first. Characters like Ridley and K. Rool, if they're in the game, aren't going to not get in because Miss Fit did, and since they're highly-requested they'll bring a lot of excitement, which means saving them for a later reveal.

Plus Sakurai seems to be leaning towards fewer newcomers this time, meaning most of the characters he wants in will probably get in. The game will have been in development for two years soon, if not already.

Don't be that guy. It's not exactly called for. There's no way to know, and putting down people's hopes in the name of "gut feelings" isn't a great call. Gotta keep it civil.

Yeah. WFT is a waste of newcomer when she could potentially be taking the spot of K. Rool or Ridley. Villager is acceptable, but meh. I was disappointed with the reveal of Rosalina. She's about as meh of a newcomer as we could've gotten. Bowser Jr. should've been the choice if she is the only Mario newcomer. The only gold newcomer we've gotten so far is Mega Man imo.

They need to add the hard hitters (Ridley, K. Rool, Bowser Jr., Mewtwo, Krystal, etc.) first that everyone's been begging for since Melee before they start throwing in the curve balls.

Ever see Iron Man 3? That movie was God-Awful for the majority of Iron Man fans, because it completely killed one of Iron Man's arch-nemesis, the Mandarin, and made him into a joke. But tons of other people still loved it, regardless of the fact that the main villian was a joke, because they didn't care regardless. And you know what? Those same people wouldn't care if the main bad guy turned was the normal Mandarin and not some cheap joke for a quick laugh in the movie.

It's that same with Smash, the majority of people who are going to buy this game are not going to give a **** whos in the roster, so why not just please the people who are going to care by putting in characters they want?

More requested here. Miiverse, on the other hand, has one K.Rool supporter and five Ridley supporters. The fans wanted Rosalina and Jr. more then them.
