People keep arguing over which ring it is on other forums...
The major circuit doesn't have a giant flat screen or flame throwers. The biggest change to Delfeino is that the Pianta statue is gone, and Skyloft and Rainbow Road are direct rips from their games + a fighting platform. Why show favoritism to Punch Out?
I didn't say it WAS the Major Circuit ring. I said it bears resemblance to it. It has similarities.

Punch-Out's rings change all the time, depending on the Circuit Mac is fighting in.
Why wouldn't this tradition be carried into Smash?

Check the "swirl"/hair on Jigglypuff; it's in 3D and texture, it haven't been like that in any Smash Bros. game so far (only fully in 3D). That model is taken from somewhere else.
Just wanted to point that out.
Okay we're talking about different leaks. I'm referring to the 3DS ones that had Ness and Jigglypuff, which is what I assumed what you were talking about because of your mentioning of the outlines.

First point: Why are we discussing stages here when there's a thread for that? Why come here if there are no rumors to discuss?
Because a stage = char, so if some rumour appears without Little Mac we can have arguments against the probability of said rumour be true. Off Topic nazis rule strong in smash boards...chill out bro.

A proposito...voce é português? Eu tambem sou.

If it's a Punch Out stage, where's the definitive proof it is one? Every stage so far is very clear on who's stage it is.

And I guess we're derailing the thread.

It's pretty clear that this is a Punch Out stage dude.
Check out that one GameFAQS article that proves it.

Yeah, especially the Nintendogs stage, the Find Mii stage, and the Pilotwings stage. It's super obvious to whom those all belong. Besides, the Galaxy stage wasn't "clearly" Rosalina's stage until Rosalina was confirmed.

Eh, no other character-related stage has ever had Smash Bros. imagery in it.

That doesn't definitively mean that it isn't a Punch-Out stage, but it would certainly be the first stage we've ever gotten besides Final Destination or Battlefield that had Smash Bros.-related decorations and details.

I don't think Little Mac will miss out this time, though.

I take it there are NO new rumors? A few Days ago there was new ones posted here every minute. Did people get bored in making them?

Does that article prove without a doubt it's a Punch Out stage? No. If it did, you would of showed it to me in the first place. Is the stage clearly a Punch Out stage? No, otherwise I, a big Punch Out fan, wouldn't be arguing otherwise, and others wouldn't be doubting it. Every stage screams 'it's X series stage!' except the smash stages and this one. Why? Because it's a smash stage.

As in, to which series. Not to which character. The Nintendogs stage is obviously a Nintendogs stage. The Pilotwings stage is obviously a Pilotwings stage.

I am a huge Punch Out fan as well, who sees the obvious similarities between Smash Circuit and World Circuit.

Also, did some double checking and I stand by what I said before.

This is pretty much Brawl's model with a new texture and knowing Brawl hacks, creating new textures is fairy easy. (ha)

Of course the other things that disprove this were:
• Balloon is misspelt
• This is clearly taken from this image:

• The lightning is completely incorrect for this stage.
• Jigglypuff isn't on the screen in the background.
• October 11th's pic of the day was Wii Fit Trainer's rear.
• It's missing the time stamp.

Regardless of whether or not "the ring" ends up being a Punch-Out stage (I'm leaning towards yes, but we have no actual proof), I think it is strange that it hasn't been given a name yet, and that it is a a Wii U only stage. If it was a generic smash stage, like Final Destination or Battlefield, you'd think there would at a 3DS version as well.

Even if it's not a Punch-Out stage, it better have some Punch-Out music. Maybe some Pro-wrestling music, too.

I would also like to point out that the lasers aren't from Pun- I mean the yeah button and community name is in Spanish or something.

Smashville is CLEARLY not an Animal Crossing stage, there is no official Animal Crossing town called Smashville.

From Neogaf:

Punch-Out Ring Stage
Whenever I would post tidbits about this, I got a couple of requests to make this its own thread, so I decided to go ahead go through with it.

So, the boxing ring stage. You've seen it, I'm sure. Some people aren't exactly sure if it's a Punch Out related stage, if it's a Kirby themed stage, or just a generic new boxing ring stage just for kicks. Well, I'm gonna tell you that this stage is a Punch Out themed stage for a multitude of reasons. So let's begin I guess...

First off, the audience is human, so you can rule out any possibility that this is a Kirby themed stage (all Kirby boxing rings have Kirby characters instead). The marquee's in the background are all dot styled, which is consistent with the marquees in Punch Out Wii, and even the title screen and round indicators for Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

Various dot styled marquee screens: http://i.imgur.com/sgmo0ru.png

All logos in Punch Out Wii are adorned with clusters of stars, which are usually in 3's because triple star punches are the most powerful punch in the game, as well as the "leaf vines" on the sides (forgive me; I don't know the term for this) and a giant star somewhere in the middle. The logo in the ring, while being smash themed, shares all of these characteristics.

Minor/Major/World Circuit Emblems: http://i.imgur.com/oWzpteX.jpg

The ring ropes are also identical in both color and configuration as the Major Circuit ring in Punch Out Wii. Similarly, the corners are all identical colors and positions as the Punch Out Wii corners. The logo in Smash also features a ribbon at the top, which is a direct throwback to the World Circuit ribbon at the top and bottom of the logo.

Also, as a random tidbit, the ribbon in the Smash Punch Out stage says "CHAMPIONSHIP" on it, which is probably because if it straight up said "Major Circuit" on it, it would be flat out obvious. Plus since Smash Bros doesn't have "circuits", championship makes more sense in the context of the game.

The final fight in Punch Out Wii, Mr. Sandman, has a very particular entrance for both his Title Defense and Contender fights. He approaches the ring while there's a green laser light show that goes on behind him. Well, check this out...

Same green laser show.

But yeah, there are an abundance of intentional details that suggest this stage is designed to be a Punch Out stage. There may be a few details that I'm missing, but those were all the details I seemed to notice. Unsure if this confirms Mac being a character, but at the very least there's a stage from the Punch Out series in the game.

It would be nice if everyone here had a Neogaf account and people on Neogaf has a Smashboards account.

Also if the community it's taken from uses a different language primarily, why would it be in English?

EDIT: Oh man, I thought you were the other guy.
le whoops

But lasers are from Punch-Out!!!1!!1!
It's A town, not THE town. Wheras the ring has only a few similarities with the game. Smashvile has AC characters in it. The ring doesn't have Punch Out characters.
Wouldn't that make this A ring, not THE ring?

Little Mac fights in a different ring dependent on the circuit he's fighting in, Smash Bros would therefore have it's own ring because it's clearly not the Minor, Major or World circuits. If anything you could say it's the Interdimensional Circuit given each series is an alternate universe.

Does it need PO characters? Did the Brawl Ice Climbers stage need the Balloon Fight fish?

I'd give it a rest if I were you.
THERE AREN'T ANY NOTABLE PUNCH OUT CHARACTERS TO ADD AS STAGE HAZARDS.
I'll give you that point. I never beat TD Bald Bull anyway.
You mean Glass Joe and Bald Bull aren't notable?

And another thing, what if it's just references to something else? Like the ropes match IRL ropes. Couldn't the overall design of came from a famous movie that both the stage and game are referencing?

Does it need PO characters? Did the Brawl Ice Climbers stage need the Balloon Fight fish?
There's nothing significant that says it's a Punch Out stage. Glass Joe would confirm it's a Punch Out stage.
