She is the second most likely representative for the KI series. Hades and Medusa come close in third. She is by no means Assist trophy material, Magnus yes, but Palutena is playable material.

I haven't played Kid Icarus Uprising and I am not really a fan, which is good for speculation because I'm not biased.

Let's say, for argument's sake, Lady Palutena's eyes are different colors in KI:U than they are here. That would serve to better the realism of this leak, because maybe Sakurai realized he made her eyes blue, and made them green in SSB4.

The model seems to have slightly better quality than the Uprising one.

EDIT: I found most of the palutena pictures by googling, i wish I saw someone p[osted the AR pictures above, but there they are. Also, I got the dev direct pictures my analyzing frame by frame. From the 3DS scenes, there wasn't a solid match.

Well just look at these two shots:

Notice how far apart the trees are in the first shot, where the camera is fixed? Then in the second shot with Link and Toon Link, the camera is obviously skewed to the right, which makes the trees seem closer than they actually are.

I know, but alot of people love her because of that game. And it makes a lot of sense for her to get in, and since I don't know much about her, just what she does, I think she has a chance.

This is exactly why I asked if anyone else thinks it might be a 3DS-exclusive. It would make Smash-freaks like me (and probably everyone else here) buy TWO games instead of one... which is evil, yes, but a smart business strategy for a company struggling to sell consoles.

Besides, Sakurai has said plenty of other things in the past that didn't quite turn out to be true, so who knows what he could be hiding up his sleeve? I still say anything is possible.... maybe he meant that both versions share a core cast of playable characters, but maybe he'll reveal later that each version will have specific characters you can unlock? As a Nintendo fan, I'd rather see this happen since it would offer more spaces in the roster overall. What would be the big difference between them otherwise? Sure, some backgrounds and platforms would be different, but if these games have exactly the same characters with exactly the same move-sets, what would be the point of making two versions?

Aannnyways, upon further inspection of the Palutena images, I agree with the people who said that the proportion of her head appears to differ between the two "leaked" images, rendering them suspect. The 2nd image is slightly zoomed in, but stiiilll... looks a bit wonky.

Nintendo usually keeps this stuff locked down pretty well, so I'm having a hard time believing it on that alone.

The only characters I'm biased toward is Ghirahim and Lucina. And even then, I am still capable of listing detractors for them.

While the brawl mod is quite close, there are things that are different. The necklace/pendant thing she's wearing is completely round at the neck in the 3ds version, where in the brawl mod it sticks out slightly (could be lighting but looking at both images closely it looks pointed). Also the chains on the pendant are different in both versions with the 3ds version having no pattern at all.

Last thing I noticed was the hair going over her cheeks is different in both versions.

There's a teardrop/eggplant-like gold thing on her belt that isn't in the Brawl design. She's also missing that belt buckle.

That's all I've got.

One thing is certain, IF it is fake, then there was alot of editing involved. Not some halfassed leak made in an hour. This took more effort and knowledge of photoshop and editing.

This is the first time I'm trying really hard to prove that a leak is fake. It might be tabuu (bu-chhhh) but its being made out to be real guys.

It's very difficult to discern whether this is real or fake.

Because, as I suggested before, the leaker could have not been the creator of the leaks - he simply gathered two different pictures he found, unaware that there were discrepancies between the two.

reminds me of the pokemon x and y leaks of greninja were people pointed out some minor inconsistencies despite it overall looking very real, and of course it turned out to be real.

its grasping at straws, and im not saying to believe everything and its important to scrutinize as much as possible with the leaks we get but at this point all evidence is pointing to this one being real.

it does happen. its probably happening with this leak. get hyped for palutena.

Doing a quick measurement, she appears to be around six and a half heads tall. Her torso measures around two and a half heads long, and her legs around three heads. For comparison, here is her official art:

The golden jewels are based mostly on Uprising's. Interestingly enough though there is one unique jewel added on the bottom right that resembles a power star for Mario.

The leaked image seems to have the KI:U design. (With the belt buckle and the eggplant shaped ornament.) However, the model is different from the KI:U one.

From what I heard, characters leaks aren't as bad as some say as competitors can't really steal those copyrighted characters for their own uses (but they can always steal gameplay mechanics and ideas). But of course there still be heads rolling.

Interesting.

With that little star in account, as well as the face being different from both Brawl and KI:U, it's safe to say this is a new design.

The star could be an easter egg much like how Kirby can transform into a Thwomp, so it's something Sakurai would do.
