So whats the first thing you guys are going to do once you start up Smash 4 after downloading Mewtwo? For me I'm more than likely going to go into training mode and check out his moveset, analyze it etc. Afterwards I'm probably going to do Classic Mode and All-Star mode, get those trophies. I think after all that, I should have a general feeling of how the character works then join the Mewtwo army to invade for glory lol
See if this still works:
LOL XD :p

Tagging @ ミスティック Speed ミスティック Speed again just cause.

Then ima mess around with him and see if some of the things from Melee he still has in Smash 4, like how doing Bair after a Double Jump makes him go hella higher and what not.

Then I'll start checking out some of the damage values and frames for his moves and stuff for when we have the Frame data thread up and what not.

And practice converting Hex decimals to decimals and what not :p

I tried posting right when maintenance started, so now I have to retype everything from memory. ;_;

I haven't had to deal with people copying me on For Glory after beating me because I never played FG. I've only played with friends or for fun.

With that said, I've only been to one Melee tournament back in 2005 to see if I can try competitive. It was Tournament Go. I only used Mewtwo and lost pretty badly...so when I was out of the tournament, I played one free-for-all friendly. I picked Pichu because I knew there was no way I'd do well anyways. I ended up getting second in that game. From then on I decided Pichu would be my third after Mewtwo and Ness on Melee.

I only remember ever playing against females online. Don't remember playing against any of my female IRL friends because not very many of them seem interested in Smash. At most I can think of one who likes at least 64 because she and another friend played it together when they first met, and they ended up getting married. However, they don't play competitive and it just happened to be at a party/event. Even though I haven't really found any females IRL who is as into Smash as I am, I have talked to IRL female friends about Pokemon, so I guess that's good. I've also played Mario Kart Double Dash, Just Dance, and some other casual games with IRL female friends, but that's about it. I don't have any IRL female friends who are super competitive in games, just a few gamers who love playing games but don't take it to the extent of joining competitive scenes.

I could probably find tournaments about 30-40 minutes from home if I used the forums. However, while I do love Smash and learning new things about competitive stuff, I find trying to get into the scene is a little too intense for me. At the same time, I pay more attention to Smash than most of my friends. As a result, I find myself in an awkward middle spot. That's why I mostly stick to social threads like this and the Smash 4 one...

Either training mode or regular Smash with 3 level 3 CPUs with Smash Ball, AT, Poké Ball, and Master Ball on. Then I'll go to All-Star and Classic.

When Mewtwo gets released, I'm going to go training mode first to see all his moves, then I'll get the trophies in All-Star and Classic as well as any remaining customs, then I'll start practicing my combo game, then go into For Glory and fix my horrible Win Rate.

Training-->Classic-->Classic 9.0-->Custom farming-->For Glory

Or I might make some time in between those events to re-experience the feeling of defeating inexperienced players using said DLC online with my other mains like I did in PSAS.

Probably just do some training to find out all his moves and his Final Smash, play some cpus, do Classic and All Star, farm some customs, and then finally play with some of my friends online.

Confusion Phasing? I highly doubt that will be back. We don't even know if Confusion will be in his moveset any longer.

The DK series has always been a huge part of my gaming life. I loved the DK Country series and I absolutely adore the "Returns" series.

Wow, do you guys also feel slightly impatient about Mewtwo? I really want to know what Sakurai meant with "really soon". Is it next week? The week after? Within a month? "Only" about a month? Hell, I can hardly wait!

I'm always shocked by how seriously people take these things.

When someone copies my character, I always assume they're just being goofy.
I mean, you can't always tell what people are really thinking on the other side of the connection, so it's safest not to take things to heart.
You could be right, maybe it was nothing. Though in this case I wouldn't be so sure, you can kinda sense your opponent's intentions judging from the way they fight. It just rubbed the wrong way when he/she/it picked the same character with the same color scheme. Or perhaps I just take this things way too seriously.
Ugh, I hate people like that. I've had my share of trash talkers and obnoxious idiots that think they're the best at the game.

Though, I do remember one tournament, I was up against this guy that decided to go Sheik. I'd never played him before so I didn't know what to expect, and I used to get terrible nerves during tournament sets. I did some friendlies against him but SD'ed like 3 times due to my damn nerves. Then I lost against him in the actual tournament because the game was set at 50Hz and not 60Hz on this particular TV. If i'm doing my usual thing I need it to be at 60Hz. I know this doesn't really bother most people, but I always feel a bit of a difference in L-cancelling/WDing with my characters if the game isn't at 60Hz. I don't know if it's just me or not, but it's also kinda like me needing the rumble feature on to play. If I sit and play and those two aren't right, then my play-style is usually off. I guess it's force of habit.

And of course, for Mewtwo to have any chance of winning you need to be fast and precise!

Anyway, I lost that match simply to the timing for my movements being off due to the Hz rate. I knew instantly when I played it was off. The guy won, I was knocked out and pretty much made an idiot of myself and left feeling like absolute s**t because the guy must have thought I was a joke, which I know I'm not (it also didn't help that back then I was literally the only girl that played in our scene). This was confirmed about a month or so later when I played him in friendlies at a game club night I go to every week. He won the first two, as I got nervous again and was more so stuffing around. But what he didn't know was that I'd MADE sure the game was on 60Hz this time before I started playing, and he hadn't arrived before that. I picked Fox and of course, with my luck it went to Yoshi's and he went Marth. Annnnd of course, I nearly got four stocked, which did nothing in my favour of not looking like a complete idiot to this guy. By then he was smirking. So, he tried to troll me by going G&W. I knew he was doing it on purpose but that really pissed me off needless to say. I'd had enough. So, I went Marth and ended up winning the next three matches with two stocks to spare against his Dr Mario and Marth. Then he got serious, and went his main - which is of course, Sheik. I went Mewtwo, and I said something along the lines of 'Let's try this again!' not in a rude way or anything, but of all the nerve he goes 'Are you serious?! We'll be here for another 5 hours' (Referring back to the tournament match). At that point I was done. I murdered his Sheik with my Mewtwo, put down the controller and turned and said to him,'Well, that wasn't 5 hours was it?'

I've never felt so justified after a match.

The best satisfaction I get though is if I beat a top player and they can't handle losing to a girl so they rage-quit. That's happened twice so far. XD Some of them can be very egotistical so it makes it better.
That sounds satisfying, winning against people like that; it's a shame some people don't have good sportsmanship.

I remember my first tourney battle ever in front of a crowd, I got so nervous I almost lost. My opponent was using Fox and I was using my boy Mewtwo. The crowd cheered after I won because there literally no other Mewtwos in that tournament. In fact, in the consecutive years I was the only Mewtwo player in every tournament.

I'm being as patient as I can be regarding Mewtwo (if the paid DLC is next month, then that might screw up my new computer tower plans), I plan on maining him alongside Lucario (he's replacing Dark Pit on the 3DS version).

Hopefully I can get the Merida figurine before she's sold out at my local Wal-mart.

Shame I didn't bring my 3DS to the library today, I would have challenged ya to a few friendlies @ ミスティック Speed ミスティック Speed mainly with Dark Pit, although knowing me I'll probably get embarrassed again.

BREAKING NEWS. SAKURAI HAS FOOLED US ALL.
I wouldn't be surprised, but it's a good laugh.

Every fanbase has their own problems: My sister crying because Zayn left One Direction and me crying because I can't play with Mewtwo yet.

Speaking of something else, I consider myself a respectful smash player to the point that I don't like shaming my opponent when they lose. Trash talk banter with close friends and siblings is ok though. However, what really pushes my buttons is when a random stranger on the internet tries to mirror match me to show off as being superior.

I fought this guy in For Glory last night, he was Fox and I was Mario. I lost the first match due to some stupid mistakes I made (recovering too low, using Up B in the wrong direction). On the next match, the little runt picked Mario as well even with the same color scheme as me, it was by chance that I decided to change the colors back to default. I took it as a personal matter because he was basically trying to tell me "now I'm going to show you how to play Mario". I bowed to not lose that match and managed to two stock him in the end without losing a life, in this kind of situation I'm going all out and you will see me taunt a lot to mock my opponent. I made use of everything in Mario's arsenal while the guy was just being a tryhard whose battle plan consisted simply of dashing towards me and trying to grab me. Because of that he didn't last long. In his last stock, I hit him with my Fsmash and did a side taunt; he wasn't going to make it back but just to add insult to the injury I went off stage and caped him, then went back and did an Up taunt. After that, I saved the replay and left the room to deny him any chance of revenge. I basically schooled him with my Mario in a "and that's how you play Mario" fashion.

Like I said, I'm not that kind of guy who likes to brag but there are people out who need to be taught some humility.
...why do people take it as some sort of provocation when someone in FG picks your character?
If he feels like trying out the same character you used in a match before, let him do so.
Heck, sometimes i play my second main in the first battle, and change to my first main in the second battle. There's a chance of your main character being the same one your opponent used in the first battle.

And even IF it wasn't his second main, what exactly is so "pushing your button" about a random stranger trying to mirror match you?
Maybe they like playing your first used character themself, and just want to see how they fare against you.

No offense, but telling how you did all these things even though it was clear he wasn't going to make it back just to "show him", and then saying something like "people need to be taught some humility" for such a meaningless reason seems completely uncalled for (and quite hypocritical).

And yet, people consider Pikachu broken and Lucario sub par. Seems legit.
I've seen a surprisingly large amount of people accuse Lucario of being OP.
That said, I use the Aura Jackal as a secondary, though, and I just don't see it. He really has a lot of short comings.

Looks like we're not getting a Nintendo Direct this week. Maybe the next one. And knowing that Directs generally come Wednesday, that means we will very possibly get one for April Fools' Day... get ready for a joke announcement people! :troll: Or maybe not, they'll just be 100% serious. Or announce something that looks like it's a joke, but is actually real. For example, a joke newcomer alongside Mewtwo, kind of like we got a giant Cucco in Hyrule Warriors. Magikarp confirmed for SSB4 DLC

In all seriousness, early April would be a perfect date for a new Nintendo Direct, most notably because it would be halfway the period from the January 14th Direct to E3 (which is coming in June 16th). For example, if it comes for April 1st like mentioned above, there would be 75 days between both Directs, and 76 days between the next Direct and E3. (For comparison, there were 70 days between November 5th and January 14th Directs) Not to mention, I think it would be the best opportunity to reveal Mewtwo's release date, for the 6th of April, for the second anniversary of Mewtwo's new form official reveal. You know, those times we thought it was probably an entirely new Pokémon, and possibly the infamous Mewthree finally becoming a reality.

By bets now are for a Nintendo Direct coming April 1st and a Mewtwo release date for the 6th of the same month. Hope I'm proven right!
