Is there some sort of confirmation that we're getting a patch tomorrow? I'm cool with throwing around patch predictions:
:4bayonetta: nerfed so bad you'll think the old :4diddy: and :4greninja: nerfs were tame.
:4charizard: :4ganondorf::4duckhunt::4samus:possibly more buffs
:4cloud:nerfed some more. Not too much
:4dedede::4jigglypuff:continues to be criminally ignored
:4kirby::4link::4zelda:more random buffs to power!
:4mewtwo:nerfed to the ground cuz of Pound
:4peach:I could see uair getting nerfed again cuz apparently the infinite still exists on some characters
:4robinf:Buffed to top tier :shades:
:rosalina:Honestly not expecting any nerfs. Don't feel any are really warranted either

Dream patch: 'We lied about Bayo being the last dlc character. Due to popular demand we decided to bring back :wolf:'

Yeah, if they nerf Mewtwo that'd be a problem. He's one of the least gimmick characters in the game.

I think we should do Marth/Lucina, Toon Link, and R.O.B. for our next match ups. After that, Ike.

I wouldn't say for sure we're getting patch 1.1.6 its just really likely cause of the maintenance time but they might throw a curve ball never know lol
We'll know for certain if we check up on the Download Management software. It will let us know what has recently been installed onto the Wii U.

3DS owners do have to download all updates manually through the eShop though.

Note that the maintenance schedule explicitly highlights Splatoon and Pokken, which were both already determined to be updated this week a long time ago. Though it is the perfect time for Bandai Namco to hop on the bandwagon and drop the balance patch.
Samus has a glitch to be patched, Villager's duck hurtbox needs a fix (it's too low), and obviously Bayo needs the infini-combos removed. So they will at least patch the two glitches and the game breaking combo.

My call as usual- The only two nerfs needed are vertical height on Witch Twist (to about 3/5) and down air ground hitbox's knockback. Seriously, that thing is almost as strong as Cloud's forward smash, which, by the way, should also be nerfed.

Yes. Forward smash should be nerfed. It is, CLEARLY not able to be punished.
How about no? Forward smash is fine as it is.

Did you really say it's fine as is its safe on shield and it kills way to early (BTW it breaks shields) he's already annoying enough with the limit camping being able to kill you at 80% is ridiculous

It IS fine. It's not safe on shield by the way. Also, people very much exaggerate how early it kills. It only kills at like 95% on middleweights.

I think Cloud is fine overall. He might need a few tweaks here and there, but Limit is supposed to be his gimmick.

Wait, do you mean Wicked Weaves should be nerfed? Her Forward Smash is really slow and punishable, and totally not the problem at hand. Witch time into Down Smash was already nerfed significantly as well.
Also, Forward Smash on Cloud is an issue at the edge, KOing at around 65% on middleweights and a whopping 55% on lightweights. This is uncharged, by the way.

Oh wait, that was before the first nerf... sorry I messed up on that. 65% on lightweights just isn't that good. What I see most from competitive Cloud players is forward smash, down smash and LCS. Mostly LCS.

I'll go ahead and test your theory; and...
Let's take Mario as middleweight.
Let me test 65% at the edge, forward smash.
You're wrong.

Lightweights, let's test Sheik.
55%, you're still wrong, but at 65% you are right.

Forward smash is very, very powerful, yep, but I wonder how many times you see competitive Cloud players use this move? Because I really don't see it come out often.

So many people exaggerate how good it is.

Hmm mm maybe Fsmash isn't that good but it's still annoying Nair needs to be nerfed either decrease the range or make it slower limit cross slash needs some type of endlag that's about it for cloud

Cloud's fsmash comes out frame 19, has a ton of cooldown, is unsafe on shield and all three of its hits can be avoided with a sidestep.

The second hit of Cloud's dsmash can be teched, and also has a ton of cooldown and is unsafe on shield.

They're powerful moves, but far from overtuned.

I love how the Mewtwo boards all think Cloud is overrated, and then everywhere else thinks he's #2 in the game. It's great.
Though I do think that Cloud needs some nerfs just to destroy the concept of "everyone has a pocket Cloud".

So are people saying that Cloud needs even MORE nerfs? Come on people, he can't even double shine, drill shine or shine spike you to oblivion yet....
But I was right about the mistake of nerfing Sheik and letting Bayonetta dominate alone the meta.

Apparently saying that forward smash is overrated (which it is, and it is clearly not as good as you say) is saying that Cloud is overrated too.

Nah, I wasn't being sarcastic. I, too, think Cloud is overrated, and the past nerf balanced him out. I just think Forward Smash could use some tweaking, that's why it's the only move I said should be nerfed.

Nah 420quickscoper 420quickscoper has convinced me otherwise his only moves that need to be nerfed are Nair and limit cross slash

What Samus glitch are you referring to?

And also, Cloud's side smash is fine, IMO. It was nerfed already, and it's very punishable if shielded. It would be like trying to nerf Roy's side smash. Just be aware of it.

He really doesn't need much to balance him out if anything.

I tri-main Cloud and even I'm fine with him getting some nerfs. Nothing major mind you but nerfs nonetheless. I can see them happening too with him getting so many results, so quickly and proving to be a problem for such a large portion of the cast. He forces a majority of the cast to approach, he outranges most of them, has decent power with that range, outspeeds most of the cast in Limit, gets rid of his biggest weakness (which is a small one) when he gets Limit which is what he strives to get that forces people to approach and he even gets it for attacking you and for getting hit! Let alone getting an aerial smash attack. Fsmash is being talked about, fsmash is just Limit-Cross-Slash-restricted-to-the-ground-and-weaker-until-you-get-Limit.

The main things I see needing a touch up are dair, maybe uair and/or nair and the rate at which he gets Limit through all 3 means.

Also, one of the funny things about fsmash is that it's made up of 3 hits. Those first 2 hits only deal 3% and at most 4% on the second hit which means ANY grounded attack can clank with them. I don't know about other Cloud's but I tend to space the move so that only the third hit reaches since the first 2 are so easy to beat and the move doesn't come out till frame 19. That third hit with all the power is frame 28. As someone who plays Ganon, you're damn right I should be rewarded with a potential ko for landing what I treat as a frame 28 grounded attack.

Rant over and it doesn't matter. Cloud will be untouched by 1.1.6 and Mewtwo will be nerfed to the ground...because bs doomsday theories are fun.

Samus with rage can insta-KO with a correctly spaced Screw Attack.

Enough with the nerf talk, who's getting buffed? My votes are on Jiggs, Palutena, Dedede, Falco, Junior, Roy, and Robin. Maybe Ganon as well. I think they're the only characters that are still disadvantaged against the rest of the cast.
Little Mac also needs a fix on some of his hitboxes, most notably KO Punch Whiff.
Zelda, Charizard, and Samus (the big winners in 1.1.5) are totally viable now, someone just needs to prove it.
Shulk is another story. I know people want Shulk buffs, and some say he's really bad, but I know from my local scene that he'd be top 15 easily if someone just proved his worth. ZeRo almost did it... (yes I know it was a joke, but he should have)

Oh yeah, I've fought a lot of decently skilled Samus on For Glory lately, and she seems fairly solid from what I've seen. Unfortunately the only Zard I faced was super laggy and just spammed Flare Blitz, and I haven't faced off against a single Zelda. As a Zard co-main though, I can definitely say this last patch was huge. It's crazy how many Fairs and Bairs I can throw out now without getting punished for it. Once upon a time Bair was something I'd only use if I was certain it was going to hit, and now it's one of my favorite kill moves.

I also fought a crazy Shulk/Cloud main the other day, and while his Cloud was good, his Shulk was downright scary. I was impressed by how well he was able to pressure and space against me with his speed arts. It made it very difficult to attack him and to defend against him both. And honestly, I think he only used Cloud to go easy on me, because he'd swap back to Shulk whenever I'd manage to get a victory over his Cloud. I'm no Shulk expert, but I could definitely see him being pretty good.

I really, really doubt Zelda is "totally viable" because of some changes. Her problems run more deeper than that.

...No. Simply, no.
All of her moves have very low startup, very high endlag. I'd say that's fine, seeing the sheer knockback power of those moves.
Her air speed is actually really good, almost comparable to Peach.
She has the best out of shield option in the game- Farore's Wind.
Side B puts you into free fall? Then why would you use it in the air in the first place?
Who needs a kill throw when you have a Hoo Hah? Down throw up air is destructive.
Only one of her moves whiffs anymore and that's Up Smash, but that's necessary to its design of low range, high power.

I'm not mad at you, just... don't bash on other characters.

420quickscoper 420quickscoper OK, the punish is devastating. Frame 7 is not too bad though. Even Whirling Fortress is frame 6.

She doesn't have the best out of shield option in the game. Farore Wind comes out on frame 7. Whirling Fortress and Doc's Up B are better in my opinion.

Farore's Wind also gets you harder punished than all of those, and that's made worse by, once again it being frame 7.

O I'm not saying she's bad I'm saying it wouldn't hurt to give her more buffs
Having power doesn't mean good look at Gannon or D3
When did this happen lol
I actually forgot about that move my bad :)
Side B would have some serious potential and its just stupid anyway like why
It's not true
I meant to say crouching characters

As I said I'm not saying she's bad or anything just saying she could use more work(as in buffs) didn't mean to trigger U or anything

Also, The Legendary DJXYZ The Legendary DJXYZ , you're wrong about Zelda having low startup on her moves. Her fastest move is frame 5, shared by down tilt and down smash. Her startup is actually very mediocre. (Unless you meant low as in mediocre.)

I highly suggest you check your information before you say stuff like that.

This is something I was planning to reply to the guy who posted an anti mewtwo guide on Twitter with, but I got busy and couldn't at that time so eh:
I think him making that guide was great, it helped me as a new Mewtwo player learn what not to do (charge SB at beginning of the match for example) and having a better general idea of what my opponents will focus on etc.
What I thought was stupid is the reasoning. Him disliking "bandwagoners" I mean, come on. Characters don't belong to nobody, if a character got buffed and became more fun (well, winning is fun) and people want to play it that's alright, I can understand a sense of attachment to a character but developing a "NUH, MUH CHARACTER" kind of attitude is just childish. And I'm not gonna start talking about the many positive aspects of lots of people playing your character, from learning the ditto to expanding the meta.

I really hope the Mewtwo boards in general are more.. Welcoming, or at least understanding and don't act like elitist. The MK boards became utterly disgusting after the Leo incident.

Forgiven. You've backed up your points.
But I still think Zelda's viable. And yes, she does have a Hoo Hah, thanks to the up air buff.
I didn't notice much startup, probably because I played Greninja for so long.

Also... no patch :(

Dang. I was hoping for Mewtwo's running speed to be buffed so much that he breaks the sound barrier and for Confusion to true combo into a fully charged Up Smash, but oh well.

Some people were a little worried about bandwagoners, but I think the general consensus is that it's better to have more players to help further our metagame, so don't worry about it. We're all friends here.

On the note of Zelda, I'ma go ahead and say she's bad. Unviable bad. Can she win a tournament? Sure. So could Brawl Ganon and Melee Kirby. Doesn't mean it's likely. Ironic situation to find myself in since I'll believe she's viable when I see it when that's how everyone else was in regards to M2. Difference is, Zelda hasn't gotten the boat load of buffs M2 has gotten, the ones she has gotten have been less meaningful and her design as a whole is rather poor imo.

I made a post in the cci about how the top tiers were losing kill confirms and how the lower tiered characters were either gaining kill confirms or getting easier ones and one of the characters I listed was Zelda. Was quickly informed that her 'hoo hah' can be di'ed (not sure if there are any guaranteed percents on any characters).

I just recently started using Zelda again and I would've used her from the start if she kept her old down b. I loved the Shielda combination and would have loved it in this game :/

IDK why Mewtwo Mains that dislike bandwagoners are even concerned about them. Mewtwo is super hard to play, and eating such hefty punishment for simple mistakes will turn away a lot of people who don't like Mewtwo enough to grind through that initial learning curve.
