- How long is the daze effect
- How quickly can you attack out of it
- How quickly can you use Disable again
- How strong is the knockback for Disable2x
- Are certain characters resistant to it
- What are the effects of it in the air*
My speculation:
-It uses the same animation effect as a shield break, but I can't imagine it will be identical or last as long. If it is enough to consistently pull off a smash or kill throw even with the opponent mashing, it will be good
-Probably immediately. In the trailer Mewtwo stood right up after the flash and crouch, ready to rumble
-Probably immediately, but there will likely be far superior follow-up options, because...
-Knockback for Double Disable will probably be negligible. We want a quick move with good power to take that opening!
-I highly doubt it. It seems that the hitbox is bigger, but we need to know how big, and I really hope eye contact is no longer needed
-Not sure. Maybe slight damage or behaving like Zamus Paralyzer?

Disable affecting foes at the back would be the best buff IMO

I'm pretty sure it will be able to hit ducked Jiggs/G&W/Kirbs/etc. I rewatched the trailer and the disable hitbox seemed to hit pretty low.

Don't you guys think that Disable being effective even if he doesn't make eye contact with the opponent would be a little bit broken?

........................

Please make it happen Sakurai. I love me some broken Mewtwo.

If that's the case then the stun wouldn't last for too long otherwise it can last for as long as a Shield Break.

Even in Melee, didn't disable only last about 1/2 the time as a Shield Break?

iirc, the time stunned equated to how much damage the foe has? Cuz if that's the case, Disable would good for finishing foes

I kind of hope that Disable ends up almost like Jigglypuff's rest. Extremely risky and very difficult to land, but if you do land it, you can get a free uncharged/slightly charged F-Smash or something.

Of course, it wouldn't have nearly as much end-lag, but since it would depend on an F-Smash, it wouldn't kill as early as 'Puff's Rest either.

That'd work as well. Enough time to charge up the Down Smash.

Wait, why the hell are they taking away Charizard's super-armor?! As if he really needed a nerf to begin with!
No way... most people literally consider him as one of the worst in the game right now... why Sakurai?!?!

Did Greninja need all these nerfs?
Yes. In fact, Greninja needs more. Diddy/Sheik/Rosalina is a bit dominant in the metagame right now which is why Greninja needs even more nerfs.

Oh, don't worry about that. I think we already talked about this in Zard boards.
Hold on while I find out exactly what it said...but it should be noted, if Zard drops the bolder, the armor doesn't work. Zero Suit Samus's Up Smash, for instance, manages to break through Rock Smash despite its ridiculous armor. I think I've had some matches where Ness's PK fire messed up my Rock Smash already.
I'm happy.
Down with the false dragon!
Ha. As if Charizard doesn't already have problems.

Ah... I know what you're saying. As someone who uses Charizard a decent amount (in fact, I use his Smash 4 flair along with Mewtwo's) I know what you're talking about. Phew, I thought Sakurai would actually nerf Charizard... thank god...

Disable should should use roughly the same formula as in Melee, but characters like Jigglypuff and Kirby should be able to avoid it by ducking. That way, the stun effect can last a reasonable amout of time on all of the cast, and certain characters will be able to duck underneath it, assuming they're alert enough. I'd rather have Disable be extremely effective at stunning opponents, provided you can get that close to the them, but with a slight vertical range weakness, instead of having Disable being slightly ineffective at stunning opponents, but being an unavoidable wall at a close enough range. The latter option seems less useful, considering you go from an effective stunner with a small weakness, to an inferior stunner without that small weakness. It just doesn't seem like a good trade-off.

Also, my theory on Mewtwo's neck cord is that it's like a secondary carotid artery. It gets extra blood, oxygen and nutrients pumping to his brain in order to further increase his psychic powers.

Hm, I'm having a hard time finding where this Lucas/Rock Smash discussion happened. Maybe it wasn't in Zard Boards.
But I know it happened already somewhere....

Edit: Found it! People said that it's because the Rock Smash animation was over when the attack hit. I don't think that's it, though, because it sure doesn't look like it. I think it's just Rock Smash's weird properties acting up in the same way it does to Zamus's Up Smash. I'm going to run some test with Ness and possibly Robin.

As a Zard fan, I believe the Super Armor kicks in when the actual smashing of the rock begins. Prior to or after that he can be interrupted. I may be slightly foggy on that, but I remember that the flinch in the Lucas trailer didn't surprise me at all with the timing. I would like to see Charizard get some buffs: he definitely needs them and he's anothwr old favorite. Mewtwo's got style and is my priority for viability hopes, but I'd be happy if Charizard got some goodies in the patch as well.

Yeah, what happened to that? This is like.. THE TIME to make that happen.
I know right? Maybe a lot of them felt Sakuri completely shot down the idea. I feel like there was a lot of people wanting him just because a majority did at one point. Even with little knowledge of the character & games he's been in they just wanted the purple dragon

Talking about Ridley?
The problem is he's already got an established role despite it being a clone of the original version. The trophies even mention the games Clone Ridley didn't appear in. That and Sakurai already gave his piece on Ridley even if it's a load of BS.
Ridley has been shot down for this game but not SSB5 where he'll have been LONG overdue for a playable role.

This sounds the most logical. Why didn't I think of this?!

Not a big Metroid fan but I won't mind seeing Ridley in the game. More Metroid reps, villains, etc. Ridley seems to have a lot of fans as well so if he got in those guys would be happy. He's also a big purple dragon. I welcome any sorts of dragons because they're the best.

I think Ridley has a pretty big chance of getting in if he gets a lot of votes. Sakurai already said Ridley might not be possible, but if he gets enough votes then I'm sure he'll reconsider. Sakurai can make something work... just look at ROB, Duck Hunt, and Mr. Game and Watch!

Because you aren't Mewtwo

-I hope as long as a shield break.
That would be disgustingly broken if it was as long as a shield break. Anywhere near a ledge and he'd be killing consistently at 70-80%

I love it.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I've never been a hardcore Ridley supporter, but I definitely support his inclusion and defend him against his haters. Besides, like I said before, even if Sakurai can't get his current design down to size, he can always turn to a revamped version of his original design. He's slightly taller than Samus, so his body size is manageable, and he has much smaller wings, so that's manageable as well. Just make his wings slightly increase in size when he uses them. Most other characters make use of similar features when they attack or move, anyway. Then, make his Final Smash "Super Ridley", or something of that nature, where he turns into his modern incarnation. Everybody's happy: You have a reasonably sized, easy-to-implement, actually canon incarnation of Ridley, but with many features of his modern design thrown in to please current fans. Developers, "too big" people, and Ridley fans alike are all pleased. Anyway, this what I personally would do with Ridley if I was in Sakurai's place.
Please don't hate me for liking this idea the best.

I highly doubt it'll be as long as a shield break... maybe if it was EXTREMELY high risk, but if it's normally a shield break duration I don't see it happening.

Yeah, I agree. Not a hardcore fan here either, but I really don't see why Sakurai wouldn't just shrink Ridley a little. A lot of people have said this, so I'm just restating it, but it doesn't really make sense. I mean... Sakurai makes Pikachu, Kirby, and Olimar bigger... Bowser smaller... so why couldn't he just make Ridley smaller? He said that it "won't fit his original character" but he already changed up a lot of other character's size. Heck, I'm sure Ridley fans would rather see a smaller Ridley in the game than no Ridley at all. Ridley has so many things going for him and I don't see why he wouldn't be a good character in Smash. The people want him, so give it to them Sakurai!!! :p

About Ridely, you guys do know Nintendo showed a picture of all the characters that are Assist Trophies/Stage Hazards and said there was no chance of them getting in (Including Nabbit, Shadow, and out course, Ridely)

Looks like another 8 years of hoping for you guys...

First of all, source and second, they said that they'll take the ballot results in consideration next time
