I guess I should have asked this before the reveal, but are people happy with Mewtwo being melee two or did they want a new moveset?

personally I really wanted Mewtwo for Destructo Disc nostalgia and because it was already pretty unique.

I'm still hoping his up-air is changed so it's more like Pikachu's. That aerial mobility combined with that move utilizing that tail?

They only did it because they had extra time. Lucina was separated because of Sakurai wanted a beginner version of Marth. She was the first to be split. Dr. Mario was second because Sakurai wanted to bring back Dr. Tornado and Doc's Melee D-Air in order please his fans from Melee. He was the second to be split. Dark Pit was split because he looked weird using the 3 Sacred Treasures. He was the third to be split.
I actually agree with you on the thing about Alph, except I think he should've had priority over Dark Pit instead of Doc and Lucina. I think the Koopalings are fine as Alts. because there are 7 of them. Sakurai split the clones from their originals because they had extra time and wanted to please their fans. They took up no-one's spot on the roster, so they're literally just extra treats for people who like them. Nobody should get upset over them, in my opinion.

Well, how would you of made the Koopalings and Alph different?
Would you have us unlock each Koopaling one by one? And what would you change outside of their Final Smash; the Clown Cart is the real fighter here, the koopalings are nothing but the pilots.
Is there anything Alph can do that Olimar can't? I mean, there's rock pikmin, but changing just 1 out of the 5 pikmin types isn't nearly enough to justify that.

Fair enough. I won't exactly agree with Sakurai's decision 100%, but it's reasonable and I can understand why he made the decision.

In general, Mewtwo, Meta Knight, and Lucina were my most wanted additions to Smash 4 (even though MK was obviously going to return). This may not be the case in my videos, but sometimes I just rushed it and had school on my mind, so I didn't actually THINK about what I was saying. I think I said I wanted Chrom in at 5th and "Darkrai is my most wanted newcomer!" Ignore that...I believe I was incredibly sick at that time, so I was just rushing to get a video out...not a good idea. XD
EDIT: The 3 are also my top 3 favorite video game characters...fun fact.

I actually wanted a whooole new moveset because I like things that are new and shiny, but I also loved Melee Mewtwo, so I'm not complaining. If I had my way, I would have liked to see new B moves at least, but seeing Disable and Confusion buffed/changed is good too.

No, but he has a couple things Pit can't do all in one moveset.

By giving him the "Silver Bow"(That fire's the darkness bow's arrows for some reason...), Electroshock Arm, and Dark Pit Staff, they changed him up ever so slightly.

Alph, on the other hand, has nothing but Rock Pikmin and a slightly different space ship to set him apart. If there were 4 more species of Pikmin he could use, I'd totally be for Alph being a separate character; but Rock Pikmin alone aren't enough.

I can respect that...I have not played a single Metal Gear game so I primarily like Snake for his really interesting moveset and his codecs...

While it's true that Dark Pit got those, the reason Sakurai made him a different character is because his Final Smash "needed" to be different. You know, I really dislike Sakurai's decision there. It would be weird for Dark Pit to use the Three Sacred Treasures, but not for Alph to fly in the Hocotate ship?

These two differences are exactly the same. Dark Pit can't be using the Treasures because that doesn't make sense for his character. Likewise, Alph can't fly in the Hocotate ship - he flies in the S.S. Drake. In fact, Alph's not even from the same planet as Olimar and the Hocotate ship. Why not just let Dark Pit fight with the Treasures, if this kind of inconsistency is allowed?

All Alph would have changed is his Final Smash, and that wouldn't even of worked all that differently. It'd just look different.
Unless you're thinking of giving him an entirely different Final Smash, but I'm not sure how much potential he has for one.

While the Koopalings and Alph have nothing that can be really changed outside of the Final Smash(and Rock Pikmin, I suppose), Dark Pit at least has an excuse to change up his moves slightly.

Multiplayer issues are fixed in the MCC and Elites are in the H2A multiplayer. Shame they luck customisation.

Shulk is all about Monado Arts and changing his stats whilst Isaac is about Psynergy and Earth bending manipulation.

this is smash bros. not ****ing mugen. characters still have to make SOME form of sense in smash. for example. i doubt weaboos will get goku or the xbots will get master chief. i know what phil said, and bk is still a possibility since they HAVE interracted with another nintendo character (diddy kong, diddy kong racing, the first appearence of banjo) i also doubt assist trophies or bosses will be made into playable fighters (sorry ridley fans, it pains me too because i myself wanted him in. but sakurai flat out said NO. dont arm wrestle with the man whose been putting a lot of time and effort to please us.)
personally, im fine with the roster now that mewtwo is back. but lets remember...... fighters have to make some sort of logical sense. again, this is smash bros, not mugen. sonic was included due to the console wars of old. pac-man is there because NAMCO worked on the game with nintendo. and mega man is what MOST people think of outside of first party nintendo characters when they think of nes. as much as I want snake, personally, i would rather konami fit the nes theme with mario and megaman and include simon or trevor belmont or even bill rizer/lance bean.
