All in all, I enjoyed it.

A lot of junk sure, but between Skyword Sword HD, Splatoon 3, and Pyra/Mythra, good ****.

Well, highlights for me:
Pyra/Mythra
Famicom Detective Club
NMH3
SSHD

Also interested in the Mana and SaGa remasters.

Well that was a pretty ok direct. Not the biggest fan of Xeno 2 so I don’t have much to say on Pyra and Mythra but they seem cool, great idea for a character though honestly.

I gotta wait till June to play the Ninja Gaiden Trilogy though I was not expecting that oof

Ugh... they brought back motion controls for Skyward Sword... and I am not looking forward to Joy-Con drifting when playing Skyward Sword with "normal" controls.

I WAS SORT OF RIGHT!! Sucks that Rex got the Chrom treatment, but Pyra and Mythra are a great choice!

I don't think Pyra/Mythra spell doom for mii costumes pre-pass 2 necessarily, as Sakurai and/or Nintendo could've chosen them rather than Rex for another reason, and it'd be pretty dumb to let that keep them from choosing Rex if they really wanted him. It's definitely not a certain disconfirmation for mii costumes.

Plus the fact Rex is at least their final smash and Bomberman got a mii costume alongside Steve's release despite already having an identical assist trophy.

Of course, we may not get any mii costume promotions anyway, but not because of this imo.

Pretty solid direct. Detective Club, Miitopia and Mario Golf will make a lot of people happy.

Smash was pretty cool,. betting crash next, Traingle path traveler is interesting, Skyward Sword is great, and Splatoon is pretty hype.

Oh I missed the smash news. I don't know who those 2 are since I haven't played xeno.

Probably a 5/10 direct. Nothing outstanding besides Splatoon 3 (which itself is kinda tempered by its 2022 release), but enough minor things there to satisfy most fans.

The only thing that really wasn't great was the amount of filler, but that's always been a thing with Nintendo directs.

Well - uh - uhh... on one hand... my prediction is dead and my world is upside down, or something along those lines. On the other hand - how can I be disappointed with this? Can't wait to get a better look at these two ladies and how they play.

For a just normal Nintendo Direct, this was kind of underwhelming especially for the fact this was the first Nintendo Direct we've had since September of 2019. The only thing I liked about it was the Pyra reveal, the Famicom Detective Club remake and Skyward Sword HD. But everything else was underwhelming to me.

I think what spells doom is moreso the reality of the situation at hand.

They're character 4, releasing in March, and that means character 5 will be at E3, and probably be a notably big reveal if I had to guess, none of which the base game costumes really fall into.

That would leave CP11 as more or less the sole chance which, hey, it's possible no doubt, but I'm not buying it.

-This is the perfect outcome for a Xenoblade 2 character
-Famicom Detective club was a long time coming
-Neon White looks interesting
-MIITOPIA OH MY GOD
-Skyward Sword was a good game, and I'm excited to play it again
-I can and will buy a second copy of Hades
-Splatoon 3 looks great

Nothing spectacular it was a solid direct, I do get why they might go with Third party showcases in the future because good god that was a lot of filler.

Honestly an overall ok-ish Direct. Few things would make up for such long absence, but to be honest a lot of the stuff just wasn't interesting to me. Excited for Mario Golf, looking forward to the Age of Calamity Expansion, and will admit Skyward Sword HD might have some potential.

The lack of interesting new first party stuff outside Splatoon was disappointing. No Kirby, no DK, no Metroid, no Star Fox, and so on. I think in some ways presentations like these somewhat crystalized why I've moved towards the indy scene for a lot of stuff because they're making the kind of games I'm interested in. I'm sure Nintendo will make gazillions this year and I'm thrilled for the XC2 fans but my overall mood from that presentation is fairly close to "meh".

Really surprised they still haven't done mario kart DLC. A big expansion with new characters, tracks and more would make so much money. Don't know why they wouldn't do it, especially when MK9 isn't coming anytime soon.
They need to make Renegade Roundup fair.

I still think Reimu has a shot at FP11 (FP10 I think is gonna be a crowd-pleaser type.) But - uh... I dunno. Again - it's hard not to be pleased with this anyway. I'd bet these two will really bring something special to the game.

My highlights:
-Smash showing of Pyra and Mythra. Was sorta hoping for Elma, but Pyra & Mythra is solid too.
-Hyrule Warriors AoC DLC
-Fall Guys
-Famicom Detective Club Duo
-Legend of Mana
-Monster Hunter Rise
-Capcom Arcade
-Ghosts'n Goblins Ressurection
-Project Triangle Strategy

Alongside showing off Zelda and Splatoon 3, this Direct was solid for me.

Edit: Oh yeah, I have to admit that the one mode of that Mario Golf game, the Speed Runner thing, did look interesting, although my sister will be alot more invested in Mario Golf compared to me.

Tbh I don't expect any of the miis to get promoted anyway as much as I'd love Skull Kid and Tails, but I feel the reasoning for miis disconfirming is rather dumb imo. That's what I'm mainly pointing out; while I still think they're possible, yeah, probably won't happen anyway, but still.

I kinda fear this may mean there's no more first parties though, but maybe there's still one at least. Probably wouldn't be one of my personal wants though, and with Steve and the bear & bird I guess I shouldn't care anymore. My main want for this Direct was Frisk/Chara anyway.

Well, looks like that Hong Kong store that leaked it turned out right.

Overall kinda good Direct, but it was clear that most titles were either for general audiences or the indie fans. Some interesting third party stuff, but not a whole lot of first party stuff. Full thoughts later, but the main thing is there's now a clear roadmap.

Did anyone else have a brief moment of shock seeing the "Not actual gameplay footage" at the start of the Splatoon 3 teaser before it was clear what it was?

Well that was spectacular.

A bit bummed that Twilight Princess and Windwaker HD aren't coming yet but if they wanna keep up their Zelda-a-year plans, they'll need to keep something in the sabot.

I don't think it outright deconfirms them, obviously not.

It's just when you look at how much time we have left, namely, 2 reveals, at least 1 of them being E3, the prospects are very not good.
