Anyway, knightpraetor keeps referencing this melee smash event somewhere in Sova. any1 have info on it, or a thread of some sort? I looked in the tournament listings and couldnt find anything happening in SoVa at all. Maybe if one's there, the title should be retyped so that the fact that it's in Virginia can be easily noticed. Either way, wtf is going on this coming weekend?

So how often do people get together to play Smash around the HR area and where seems to be the most popular get together location?
Blackula: its mostly on weekends. we dont have a set location either except maybe the games n trade store at odu. its kind of like someone decides to throw a smash fest and then everyone shows up, or someone sets up there own thing with like 2 other people. id be happy to play you sometime next weekend.

gahhhhh...so exhausted. the last 36 hours have been crazy tiring.
Sorry for leaving early, I would have loved to do crews! Sorry for Johning but I don't think all of us were exactly in the best state of mind anyway ;___; But trust that we'll be comin to **** that **** in November at C3...OR October 18th when you guys come back again ^_^ That would be great...
And Candy, I think it was a misunderstanding...I'm not sure if we agreed to put money on it, though I might have jokingly agreed to it. If I did: I wasn't serious. Only because I don't speak for everyone. I'd much rather do a crew battle for the glory =D And I'm not cheap...the way I was throwin MMs around you know it's not because I don't wanna put up the money. Crews are just crazy epic when it's for fun because the **** talking gets craaaaazy and you have no real reason to, for example, get mad at someone gettin nuts with the trash talk because it's not like you lost money because of it...just your concentration and a bit of youtube popularity
But for real...I would love to do friendly crews.

Yes, I go to ECPI. First term student. B.S. Student for Networking and Security Management. I was at the Player's Club meeting this past Wednesday. I'm the one who was wearing a suit and was playing the PSP. Black guy, glasses, growing an afro.

October 4th Melee fest at ODU!!!!
Where:
Virginia House on ODU campus:
4603 Elkhorn Avenue, Norfolk
[you'll see a group of massive dorm buildings next to Elkhorn between 43rd and 49th St. The building in the back left is Virginia House]
As Caboose said, you have to have someone open the doors from the inside and the windows for the common room [where this fest will be] are to the right of the dorm entrance, so just knock on the windows or call me so we can open the doors for you.
Parking:
1) On 49th St. and Blue Stone the gate at Webb Center will probably be open. You may see cars there already, but it doesn't look like a parking lot at all...so if it's empty and you think "nah that can't be it"...it probably is]
2) the garage on the corner of 43rd and Elkhorn. Park on the 2nd floor. If you're bringing setups, pull up next to where the dorms are on Elkhorn, give us a call, and we'll come get the setups, and then you can park. that way you won't have to lug a TV + other crap from the garage
When: Saturday, October 4th. 2PM - Midnight. All post-midnight festivities can be moved up to Caboose's room or anywhere that ends up working out afterward. We've got options though, so don't worry =D [we may even be able to go to....MY HOUSE?!?!?!..............................................maybe not >_>]
FEES:
NONE. IT'S A FEST. WHICH MEANS: NOT A TOURNAMENT.
BRING MELEE SETUPS, PLEASE. TVS. WIIS. GAMECUBES. MELEE. MEMORY CARDS. AND BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER!!!! .....Seriously people, it's been a while now >_>
I will not be recording. I WILL, however, bring my recording EQUIPMENT. I'll have the cables and the software for anyone who wants to record onto THEIR laptop. So bring your laptops and harddrives or whatever you need. But don't expect me to handle the recording/posting of vids for this fest.
We have plenty of chairs/tables...a LOT actually, so that won't be an issue.

Also: who in SoVa is actually interested in playing Texas Hold'em some time? $5 buy-in.

oh **** maybe I should have a separate texas hold-em event? hahahaha...**** anyone who is interested, PM ME [even if you already posted] and I'll only take a small group of people. we can play friday night, then you can stay here until the fest on saturday since I'm less than 3/4 of a mile from Caboose's dorm.
