@ X does it really bother you that much that your character isnt as terrible as everyone thought when the game came out?

you can always just switch to captain falcon
OH WAIT...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPxFCsrWtKc

but seriously, just switch characters if you dont like playing good characters... sonics mid tier, and EVERYBODY knows it. no matter how good izaw is, link will always have a craptacular recovery, so use him if just want to brag about playing a subpar character

If you guys haven't seen this already :

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=206831

1: Malcolm (Sonic)
2: Blackanese (Game and Watch, Meta Knight, Ice Climbers)
3: Rookie (Fox)
4: BSC (DDD, Kirby)
5: Ryko (Snake, Falco, DDD)
5: Shadowlink (Sonic, Fox)
7: Will (MK)
7: Glick (Kirby)
9: Roger
9: Revan
9: Naks
9: Guru
13: Hektic
13: Age
13: Killa
It's not fair, Malcolm's finals was easier than mine >_<. Good work sir.

Off topic: I think it's safe to say that I have the fastest Sonic ever (If anyone thinks I implied I'm the best, I got a boot with your name on it :p). Watch me prove it to everyone, I'm working on a vid on my break. Look for it in the video section when I make it .

Out of 40
Ithrowthings (Sonic) - 13th

Wasn't sure if below top 8 are getting posted or not. Overswarm knocked me into losers bracket then Smash 64 and I had an epic fight that I lost.

I got the most epic kill i've ever seen. Ness spiked me on FD at like 45% and I start tapping up b like crazy but I knew I couldn't grab the ledge cause I'd be just barely too short. Ness uses his up -b to recover and I jump straight into allowing me to recover and making ness die. I think you had to see it to appreciate the awesomeness.

Keep owning with sonic everyone

Is this online or offline? Online doesn't count, btw.

Anyway, following up your teammate's moves is fine. There's a bunch of fun stuff you can do that need a ton of coordination though @__@;

Whether it's having your teammate do the false approach and you doing the real approach, or both of you splitting up to cover all defensive movements that your opponent can do if you both run at him.

There was one thing that I did with Terios in a wifi match though - one of us did a U-throw > spring > F-air, and the other went under and knocked him out of the F-air with U-air. epic epic kill.

Well, alot of team stuff needs coordination. Either you guys should have talked about this earlier and/or tried them in practice, or you'd need some live chat via internet and microphones.

Or you could be really lucky and just follow up his moves if you're good enough, or rely on him to follow up your moves if both of you have like, played each other alot and know what you like doing lol.

Hah, Tenki I remember that.

So epic.

I'm really bad at doubles though...I only ever play with people who keep team attack off...and I'm just bad with synergy.

Good News: I won my first tournament.
Bad News: No one from OoT went, and the turnout within our own city was terrible. There was only 10 people I think. I guess it doesn't count.

Anywhos, are any Sonics coming to Final Smash V?

It's in my city, so you can bet your *** and a half that I'll be there.

OoT = Out of Town. No one from outside of San Antonio came.
But hell, a San Antonian FINALLY won one of our own tournaments.

And as I've said, there were only about 10 people there, so it probably wouldn't count.
Then again, I've won several neighborly tournaments in SA as well (one I ran myself in June, and one I entered at my old High School for charity).

But as I've said, it probably shouldn't count.

Results were:
1. Puffball (Sonic) $50
2. MorningStar (Snake) $25
3. [I cant remember his name, he's a "no-name" in SA] (Meta Knight/Snake)

Despite the turnout, the matches were pretty good. I updated the Cinemas with videos recorded by a friend during the Winner's Finals and Grand Finals, both being Me vs. Morningstar. He's gotten alot better.

I also love listening to the stuff the people were talking about behind the match.
And I finally found someone who's as fond of Sonic as I am.
Although he kinda sucks at Brawl... >_>

Oh I see. Man, if only there were 2 or 3 more people so it could count under Ankoku's =P But its cool though, congrats. At least you got money anyways! I'll go watch vids now.

Lol thanks to you and 3000 I feel like I'm so much into the texas smash scene. Seems fun, except for like, your apparent MK swarms =P

True. Texas IS one of the most heaviest MK areas in the Nation. I think I remember somone saying Texas was dominated to about 50% by MK.

i have a win that i didn't update in the OP, because there was no "worthy" players.

also, it should be noted (not to downgrade the 1st place of anyone), but from my understanding only tenki, me, kid i think you had one, and browny when all sonic with our wins

When was the last one? Part of it may have been that I haven't really been checking up-to-date with things, but I don't recall seeing much talk about your results recently..(?)

Shame on X! He has been neglecting to inform this thread of his placings because he "doesn't want Sonic to go up on the tier list." He wants to say that he doesn't main a high tier, and if Sonic goes up, then that would change... (Even though I doubt little tournaments in Utah would affect the tier placement all that much, anyway.)

Anyway, I'm going to list the ones X neglected right now...

Tourny of Fate 2 (10/11/08)
Total Participants: 18
Sonic Main(s)' Placings: X (2nd)

Total Participants: 21
Sonic Main(s)' Placings: X (3rd)

I love how Sonic is right before Toon Link in alphabetical order. Makes things so much easier.
Maybe the Wario boards are cool too and I can just visit that whole row. >_>

And he didn't even name-drop him.

I got to word this REALLY carefully.

I just got back from my city's weekly tourney, and not including the doubles I attended before, was my first tourney, and now I'm official

I got 17th out of 44 entrants, and that's my first singles tourney... or even my first real tourney.

I feel good.

I'll come back and put this into Memphis' format.

Play & Trade weekly.
No website :(.
December 1st, 2008.
Out of 44:
17th - Kinzer (All Sonic)

I know that's not worthy to put down your OP, but that's okay, at least I'll be able to keep a log on the tourneys I attend to.

I feel so~~~ good! My first match was against a Pizzachu, 2-1, he picked Corneria, and then he couldn't hit me on the back with his locks/thunder/whatever a Pizzachu does there (He's too slow!)

Then next I fought against a Snack (Snake), again I think it was 2-1, I took him to Frigate, and I'm like "why didn't you pick another character?" but whatever, I advance.

And then after that, I got sent to the loser's by some Kirby, he was all over mah Steak d***it!

Finally I just lost to some T.Link, where I should've CPed BF but I went Frigate again because I thought most of the cast got screwed over on that stage...

Owell, next time, I'll do better.

Also I @#$%ing stage-striked Jungle Japes, I don't care if my opponents don't like it either I'm not taking chances on that place... @#$%!

I was also playing with the Wiimote, and the Pizzachu I think wasn't too happy about some guy, coming from nowhere, with the worst controller possible, and still beat him. :/

What a rush!

And then I got some friendlies in with SK92, who I'll assume you all know who he is, and then he 3-stocked me the first match, and then I get him down to one stock the second time. Never has it felt any better to get my *** handed to me.

I'ma reppin' Sonic on the WC (or at least in Las Vegas)!

And then there some sonic dittos with some other guys, it was freaking sweet.

There you go tenki.

and memph.
so what, now you want to me to add them?
just because they are posted doesn't mean i'll put them in the OP

you said you didn't want them added, and that you weren't telling anyone about your results, so i wasn't even looking at posts about you.

either you do, or you don't.
pick.

Kinzer, good job on your tourney! XD

Man, haha I wonder what the look on their faces was when they saw you played so well with the Wiimote alone.

Now, I'm not asking this to sound naggy or pressuring or whatever at all, but why do you use the wiimote alone? Obviously you're good with it, but have you considered switching to any of the other schemes? I mean, the wiimote does put you at a disadvantage... not that you can't be good with it of course, but it does limit you in some way.
