Man I want this game so ****ing badly now. Sonic looks so beast grinding on actual electrical wires man. The only thing that I wonder is how this level ties into this game seeing as Sonic has already been captured by the military and where he actually gets his piece of metal to skate on :/

And lack of original music makes me sad (or at least you couldn't hear it with all the chatter and noise in the background I guess)

To be a killjoy, Sonic 3DS doesn't look so hot. Classic Sonic is using what appears to be the Sonic 4 gameplay engine. Uncurling, stopping on a dime when the d-pad is let go, very floaty, the whole shebang.

That's not necessarily a bad thing though was it?

I played Sonic 4 already and I never had any problems with the game (except the last ****ing boss battle because Eggman annoys the **** out of me)

I second this. Last fight was a *****.

And honestly, the only people who were complained about the physics in Sonic 4 were nostalgic fanboys who want everything to be exactly the same as the genesis games and throw a ***** fit at any minor alterations.

Ok so I know it wasn't me because it had to be about 5 times Eggman transformed into something else before he killed you with no checkpoints or anything in between which is a ***** when you get to the last one and then you die because they only give you like one ring everytime you die and have to head back in to try to kil him

I guess that's why people hate it, though honestly the only really BAD part about the physics system is that Sonic uncurls in mid air. To me that's pretty ****ing unfair that I'll die because he uncurls just as I'm about to hit someone, but even then that's something that I just live with

I never said it was bad, but seeing how the PS3/360 version has similar gameplay for C. Sonic that harks back to the classics, I'm curious as to why the 3DS seems to forgo that and use an engine similar to Sonic 4.

3 out of the 4 seems to have high hopes for the game, though IGN does say the game doesn't run as smoothly as it should. But Unleashed had the same issue at its E3 demo, so this isn't anything that can't be fixed.

Destructoid seems to be the black sheep. But the article is written by Jim Sterling, who said before that Colors was a good game, but later rated it a 4.5. Seems like he has some antipathy for 3D in general, and past issues with Sonic and SEGA too - he considers a platform glitch in the Modern version to be an "inherent weakness." So take his opinion with a grain of salt along with the other articles.

I wouldn't worry about that. Its still in beta and I'm sure that it will run as smoothly as Colors when its released.

I read this article earlier and the writer has a very bias "anti-3D" feeling to it. Again, same guy who rated Colors low for basically having the balls to be a 3D Sonic game. I really wouldn't listen to what he has to say, as most of his articles come off as a winy fanboy that wants everything to be exactly the way it was in the Genesis days.

At the Sonic Boom concert, Crush 40 played, well, Sonic Boom.

It'd be AWESOME if that song got into Sonic Generations to represent a Sonic CD stage. Racing down that long highway alongside Meta Knight METAL SONIC as either classic or modern Sonic would be WAY too good to that song.

MAKE IT HAPPEN SEGA!! God I am so pumped.

Wait what?

Well, there's no main theme for the game revealed as of yet....Sonic Boom is the only song that got remixed by Crush 40 recently, unless SSR wasn't remixed before....

Is it possible?

Man I already played through SA1 and I hated it (though it wasn't with the DX DLC, but I'm pretty sure it's the same experience either way). The only two characters that were worth playing were Tails and Sonic. Any other character felt tedious as hell. Knuckle's treasure hunting stages were pretty stupid, Amy was extremely slow, had the most annoying personality ever, and had the stupidest twists to her levels ever (I hated that stupid robot chasing her in every level considering that you can't destroy it with as many hammer hits as you can, yet Sonic could've easily destroyed in one or two homing attacks), Omega's levels were mediocre at best (but hey he had a great storyline right?), and Big's levels were the most annoying in the game ever. It's extremely hard to destroy an enemy with a stupid fishing rod, I would catch everything BUT Froggy, Big sounds like a cat I'd put out of its misery if I ran over it or something, and he had the smallest amount of levels in the game. The ONLY thing that was of worth mentioning in his levels is seeing where Cream's origins came from, but then not even because she's playable in Heroes so w/e

But damn man, SA2 improves on SA1 in every possible way. The controls are less jacked up, the story is better explained than just a bunch of sporadic cutscenes with each character that leave you trying to piece it all together, the levels are less glitchy and better made, the music is better made, and it introduced a ****ing awesome character to the series (who was better left off dead than brought back imo). Sadly PSN and XBL don't want me to play this game because apparently they make every classic game purchasable EXCEPT SA2

Jazwares has revealed that the toy figures they are currently making are characters for Sonic Generations.

Two of these figures are the Classic Super Sonic, and the Classic Metal Sonic.

Make of that how you will.

tl;dr: SA1 is aging horribly. Although I personally I thought that Gamma's levels were actually pretty fun. Oh, and you're forgetting that the voice acting is so bad its painful to listen to.

SA2 >>>>>>>>>> SA1 by a long shot. Honestly, I know that there's a good chunk of the fanbase that disagrees but SA1 was piss poor in comparison so SA2. Lets also not forget that SA2 doesn't try to cram a million different game times into it and is much more tightly focused. And am I the only one who noticed all of the corner cutting in SA1? Things like making levels for the other characters BY CLOSING OFF AREAS IN SONIC'S LEVELS.

And yeah, there are a ton of good Dreamcast games that really need to be up for download.

But that's in every Sonic game. I mean who the hell voices Tails so I can get a knife and stab him? His voice acting for Tails is about as annoying as Slippy is in Star Fox. God at this point they should really think about replacing whoever voices Tails because at this point he sounds like a 12 year old squeaker who has yet to go through puberty or something

Is he even 10 years old? I was under the impression that he was still really young.

Funny I thought he was supposed to be older, but if he really is that young there's about a million different ways one can voice Tails rather than giving us this annoying brat voice that makes my eardrums want to blow themselves up

Fuelbi, go watch some Sonic Colors scenes. Tails's voice is just fine in that game.
I have to agree here. I actually didn't mind Tail's voice in Colors.

Also, you should hear Tail's VA in SA2. S/he sounds more like s/he rehearsing a middle school play rather than actually voice acting.

If I may perform baseless speculation,

Metal Sonic is the main villain in Sonic Generations. Confused as to why he is unable to defeat Sonic, even after going all-out in Heroes, he decides to travel back in time (maybe he acquired a Time Stone after the events of CD?) and try to kill off Classic Sonic so Modern Sonic doesn't exist. But his interference with the timeline causes the timeline to crumble. So both Sonics team up to find out the threat, and eventually make it to a Sonic CD stage and discover both Modern and Classic Metal Sonic, who has decided to join M.M.S in his effort. They are thwarted on Stardust Speedway, and flee, and the Sonics give chase. They find themselves in Sky Sanctuary, and discover and fight Mecha Sonic. After the fight, the other two M.S's appear and fuse with Mecha Sonic to become another Metallic abomination for the final fight. Both Sonics go Super for the final fight, and an orchestrated or Crush 40's mix of Sonic Boom plays in the fight.

Yeah, the ending part of that half-***** plot has been done to death, so that can be altered, somehow. Still, Sonic duo vs. Metal Sonic duo sounds like an epic clash waiting to happen.

Idk they said it'd be a new enemy so I assumed by new they meant making up a brand new villain than just reusing Metal Sonic (which btw is awesome looking in his base form. Anything after that sucks like Metal Madness, even if that's a cool name)

Man imagine a bigger rocket with an even cooler animation of getting up to the spring. It could be huge and you'd have to boost all the way up in a spiral to make it on time. That'd be so boss
