I read the manga, and even though for a while it went on a DBZ-esque "stall" (episodes of charging an attack in the anime --> "I HAVE A FINAL ATTACK!":"oh yeah?! well i has final attack too!":"well, i have ANOTHER FINAL ATTACK!", etc in the Naruto manga).

But characters are dying, so I think Naruto might actually end some time.
