Also I don't really agree. If I beat the whole community except that I lose to you everytime, I'm worse than you, even if you lose to the whole community except from me.
If I beat everyone except you, and you lose to everyone except for me, I win every single tournament where I don't face you first round (can double elimination make me face the person I lost to round 1 in losers round 2?). If one player had to be "better", it would be the one who can place further more consistently.

The tourney was pretty fun, did undeniably mediocre though (2-2 in sets, 5-4 for total matches)

I used fox a bit more than expected which is nice, since fox has been a lot more fun than falcon for me lately. One of my losses probably came down to my character pick, but it finally gave me some good fox vs pikachu experience (lol no matchup knowledge)

I make silly mistakes with all my characters still, but it's all good.

What combos or techniques do you use with Cpt Faclon? That's exactly who I would use in an N64 Tournament.

this makes me frown :(
Important in determining how good you are. However, how good you are is unimportant in my opinion. I said it several times, but I'd rather be very technical with nice combos and lose a lot, than the opposite.

I don't know. It seems weird to me to say "I'm better than you, although I can never beat you". Anyway the nuance introduced by cobr is already nitpicky. Since the case I describe is very unlikely, it is rather safe to only look at a dichotomic interaction, rather than how you do vs the whole community. What I mean is that concretely the former dictates the latter with enough accuracy.

A lot of grabs, pivots, and aerials. I mostly just try to emulate whatever SuperBoomFan and Capitan Tavo do. One of my favorite repeatable combos is on Dreamland, where if they are near the center of the stage I bair>pivot grab behind them>dash>jump>fair on the platform>dash>dair off stage

it's ok

Studstill is the worst smash player I have ever seen.

He literally does not improve at all. He honestly believes he is the best in the world, and because of this he takes offense for some reason when anyone tries to give him advice.

On top of that, he is a horrible human being.

I did him a favor and registered him for zenith after registration closed because he asked me to. I even got his $30 entrance fee paid for. He said he would pay it back by August 1st and he didn't. Now he is calling me an asshole because I asked him to pay me back.

He is a 30 year old man who is failing at life so hard he has to resort to scamming the people who try to help him out. I don't know if I should still help out this community if people like him are tolerated. No one here should interact with scum like that. From this point on I'll assume that anyone that associates with Studstill is as bad as a person he is.

Alright computer nerds I need some help.

When I unplug from my LAN connection at home and try to connect to any other network internet pages simply won't load. It says I'm connected to the internet but pages won't load. Or take forever to load. But usually don't load at all.

Now I can go into safe mode with networking to circumnavigate this but that's obvious not ideal. Firefox is still kind of slow too.

How do you guys suggest I solve this problem? I think it's Norton but I really don't have any idea where to start.

1) Save all your important files on an external HD all the time
2) Just re-install windows every year or so

Even if it won't solve the problem, uninstalling Norton is an excellent idea because it is completely 100% useless.

Security 101:
1) Don't download things you aren't 100% sure are safe.
2) Don't use Internet Explorer (optional). Even though IE has stepped up its game recently, any browser-based virus is going to be targeting IE before any other browser due to its popularity. You mentioned using Firefox. If you really want speed, Google Chrome generally has faster loadtime, but it lacks some features (e.g. it's the only browser that doesn't ask you before closing multiple tabs). Otherwise, Firefox is just fine.
3) Don't use Windows. Don't bother following this step because, like viruses, most software designers also target Windows machines.
3b) Considering you're likely going to want to use Windows, download Microsoft Security Essentials (or check to see if you already have it). This is official software and is quite good, especially if you don't use Internet Explorer as your browser.
4) Really, just don't download anything.
5) Don't worry about viruses if you're on OSX or a Linux machine. There is very little to be gained from targeting people on these, so virtually no viruses try to cooperate with them. Like everyone else, hackers are lazy and go for the quickest route.
6) If you end up on a page that is preventing you from closing the tab or moving away, press ctrl-alt-delete (Windows 7-), or just open up the start menu (Windows 8). Open the task manager and manually shut down your browser from there.
7) Don't download things.

"Cleaning"/speeding up your computer (this one is step by step):
1) Uninstall programs you never use.
2) Save your files externally (usb, external hard drive). BACK IT UP onto either a second drive or on a cloud computing software (e.g. SkyDrive).
3) Run the built-in defragmentation tool (DON'T download anything that claims to do this for you).
4) Only have one device connected to the Internet at a time. Trying to stream things from a phone and a computer at the same time increases traffic and splits the top speed among the devices.
5) Check for and troubleshoot malformed or dropped packets. (don't worry about this if you don't know how)

If the problem only occurs when you leave your network and go to other places (e.g. public coffee shop, other person's house), additional network traffic may be unavoidable and a cause of increased load times. It is also possible you possess a better plan from your ISP, giving a further discrepancy between what you're used to. If it also occurs when you leave a wired connection you own to a wireless connection you own, there may be intereference between your computer and the router; sources of potential interference include microwaves and other electronic devices.

2) Who uses the confirmation thing anyway? I just have it reopen all of my tabs everytime and they accumulate over time XDDD
I like adblock on firefox, dunno if other browsers have it too.
3) Windows is still more convenient for smash.

3) DON'T defrag if you have an SSD. And if you're a real boss, you have an SSD.

bonus step: don't have a bunch of tabs open at once. this can also slow down the performance as each webpage has to communicate. static pages shouldn't do that much, but if you wanted to do something like play a game and stream music it could be a problem. keeping just a few tabs up is helpful either way, especially with chrome, which makes each tab a new process in the task manager iirc.

1) adblock is fine.
2) exactly. use windows, but have security essentials and/or don't use ie.
3) yeah, defragging an SSD = super sudden death

Lol. This is total bull****. And no infraction, again. Remember the rules, unless it`s about Studstill.
Besides expensive trips to other countries for yourself, what exactly do you do for the community?

viruses obviously exist that do infect other machines. outside of people who don't follow technology, macs are known as "virus-proof". this is obviously false, but comes from the idea that most viruses simply aren't targeted towards them. if you stay away from shady sites and don't download things except from reliable sources, you'll rarely need any form of antivirus program, especially on a non-windows machine. Windows users are the target demographic because it contains the demographic of people with the least technical knowledge/awareness.

Seriously I don't think anyone is going to be able to help through the forums without at least 10 back and forth messages asking questions. I'd recommend just getting someone who knows computers (friend, or paying geek squad guy, or whatever) to look at this in person - will probably take like 20min to get it working.

Hippos are the ****. Deadliest animal. I've seen (on TV) a Hippo fight off a whole pack of lions. And I mean actually fight them - he took a big ****ing chunk out of one of them. Way better fight than the linked video.

If Smash 4 has good character balance I'm sure it'll be good/successful, I know many never really liked the Brawl engine changes and are looking at smash 4 in such a negative light because of it, but what really killed Brawl was characters, not the game itself. If things like CGs are gone and the cast is normalised a bit by virtue of solid throws (that eventually kill, ala 64) we could have a great game~

im pretty sure you and i both know that the smash community's definition of 'good/successful' is hilariously far removed from the wider community's definition

Yaaa I know, sometimes I feel it's worth attempting to plant some seeds of love and friendship.

Robin William's passing has made me quite sad, depression really is the modern disease we still ignore or persecute/judge people for. Hopefully society/government shift rapidly, we're going to be combating this for a long time.
