Full hops are pretty useless for being fast/combo-ish in both 64 and Melee (duh, L canceling). But otherwise full hops became stapleish (as in characters' metas developed both short hop and full hop games *shock*) as not only did the air have "more options" (fast falling, b reservals, double jumping, air dodges; stuff like buffering double jumps off the ground so you can immediately start fast falls [zomg fast option that has *risk*]), full hops would put players directly next to opponent's on successful hit in ways which allowed continuing combos. People who left brawl never adjusted to that duality in jumping preference.

I dislike that it looks like landing lag for aerials will be worse than it was in Brawl, but we don't know what other adjustments there will be.

I say this to many friends, but if you want to enjoy Smash 4 in a way that will have a positive effect on the wider smash scene/community? Support it heavily for doubles. Brawl had the best doubles game out of any in the series thus far (just due to diversity) and negated a lot of the sour points of Brawl (bar MK, but I believe MK shouldn't be legal in doubles at all) like timing out/ledge camping and I can't see it becoming WORSE in this iteration. No matter what, it'll be fun, competitive and very easy/enjoyable to watch/stream for, I guarantee it.

I can understand the wombo combo factor, I suppose to clarify further, I enjoy the strategic nature (and emphasis) of Brawl doubles, it isn't all big boom rush down (and it's fair to say you prefer that over other things). Most long time Brawl players always get grabbed by people for all doubles events because they just tend to be pretty solid at it (Brawl mains teaming up against melee "pros" and winning isn't uncommon in my scene/region; probably a bit of confirmation bias that the brawl players would gloat long and hard about their non-brawl victories).

for you non nyers the palisades is this big ass shopping mall

anyway

so i was just in the apple store right? my mac hasn't been turning on these last few months

idk why i waited the entire summer to get it fixed but whatever **** you

so i get to the apple store and this brunette chick helps me out

i'll add that she was hella attractive but this isn't a story about me failing to pick up some dime

ok

so i'm all like "yeah it won't turn on idk what's up"

and she's like "ok i'll run some tests it's gonna take like ten mins"

now ten minutes later she comes up to me and says SOMETHING along these lines

"ok so this is pretty much one of the worst case scenarios, your hard drive is completely destroyed and there is absolutely no way to recover any of your files"

i start laughing

i had mad important **** on that comp but this whole thing is kind of hilarious ya know

i'm like "so uh what do i do now"

she tells me to come back in two hours and pick up the comp

they have to replace the hard drive

good news is it's free

not that I give a **** about the money lol

i just want my files

guys

it's all gone

my music, my word and excel documents, my PICTURES

gone for good

i might cry

anyway

now I'm sitting at the food court like **** my life what the hell do i do for the next two hours

man idk

I'm sure this is stating the obvious, but because the punish game in 64 is so hard compared to the other Smash games, it has made me so much better at the neutral game in Melee. It's also improved my spacing and reminded me to be mindful of janky hitboxes. I've been playing online for about a week now and it has really helped me get better overall at all Smash games.

lol i play 1der heaps, who's arguably the best melee player in the region. due to 64 i can get the first hit maybe like 7/10. except i can't combo for crap in that game so when he gets his first hit in i'm anywhere between 80% - dead.

i think m2k is like the only person who agrees the punish game in melee is the biggest factor about it

I was thinking the other day that I've seen more execution errors in high level Melee than in high level 64 due to the higher technical ceiling, but I feel that it ends up balancing out because of the type of DI that Melee has. Still, the punish game is huge in Melee.

To me BK means Bacille de Koch, ie Mycobacterium tuberculosis. So if you want me to find comfort in some chicken with tuberculosis, you can go **** yourself.
