Yeah like Koro said, most people in person are too chicken to act as tough as they do online. Instead, everyone is friendly and fun. Take Kero for example, guy has never brought an animal poster to a tournament.
I am somewhat imagining this right now. Oh my.

I think it is more that people act like ***** online since they can and a good majority of smashers offline are socially awkward with some exceptions

Stranded's picture of gav is out of line, yes.

So is finding someone's phone # and texting them.

I agree with you gav, those are both forms of harassment. Shame on Stranded and whoever is texting you.

But you're not the innocent victim you always make yourself out to be. You get mad when you lose and call people a myriad of offensive things.

You've told a number of people you're going to beat them up or kill them.

Can you honestly look at your own actions and say that you've always acted with good intentions?

It goes both ways man.

Yes I've said bad things to other people that I regret, but I've never spoke to these people that are harassing me. So it doesn't make it right for them to do this. I never said I'm some innocent victim so don't start your typical crap of putting words in my mouth. Also, "a number of people" is more like 1 or 2. Only problem I have is that you try to make it seem like I say those things everyday to everyone and that's not true. Like that same garbage you say about, "I've never seen you have a normal conversation with anyone", that's bs. I have "normal" convos with plenty of people, even with you. Unless you monitor all of my online chatting idk how you can say that stuff.

Yeah the biggest problem about that reality 64 project is that most of these people aren't competititve 64 players... As I said in that thread I don't think any 64 purist wants to have side b's and other typical Mêlée stuff.
I would. 64 with added melee stuff but retaining core physics and hitstun would be awesome.
I understand that people don't like it, but I haven't really heard why yet. Is the lack of a side-b one of the major reasons people prefer 64 to Melee/Brawl? I just figured it would be a cool way to expand a character's moveset, but that's obviously not the same line of thought as others.
I agree, I'd like it to be similar to PM, take the best elements from what the game is modeled after (64) and add/leave in the best stuff from the base game (brawl/pm).

EDIT: SBs got blocked at my work, been a while since I've posted. Didn't realize I was like 5 pages late to the party.

I'm really nice online and offline, I'm just really shy offline.
On a side note, I took a 2 hour car ride to New Jersey and back, so that's 4 hours, Uhg it felt like a plane ride DX

I'm going to start selling off a lot of my retro video game collection. Mostly stuff from the N64 and GameCube era that I don't play anymore. For example, I have duplicates of some games that I'm going to sell as I need to clear space for my Wii U and Mario Kart 8.

My plan is to hold on only to the stuff I really love and/or play often. That basically means that I'm going to keep just 1 copy of mostly Nintendo's first-party stuff.

Also, retro games that look best on a CRT TV have become inconvenient to hold on to as looking at an interlaced screen tends to hurt my eyes now. I guess I've been playing too many games on a HDTV and I've gotten spoiled.

Listen to this ****.

So for my education major I'm required to go to a whole bunch of queer ass campus events, right? Cool. No big deal. For one class in particular, I'm required to go to a school board meeting of the Oneonta central school district.

So I go to the OCSD website the other day and find out that there is a school board meeting scheduled today at 7 pm.

I show up to the elementary school auditorium at like 6:40. As time passes, I notice that there are a LOT of adults showing up; way more than one would think would go to a random ****ing board meeting. Anyway. Before I know it, there are like 70 god damn adults in the auditorium. Some have small children with them, some have flowers and ****.

At this point I'm like, uh, k, what the **** is going on.

Turns out that the school website failed to mention that BEFORE the school board meeting, there's a MOTHER ****ING 2ND GRADE CHORUS CONCERT SCHEDULED.

Yeah. **** me, right? I sat through a bunch of second graders singing for an hour before the board meeting even started.

I was sitting by myself and was the only guy my age in the crowd. I'm pretty sure every adult there thought I was either a young dad or a pedophile. In any case, I was getting weird looks all night.

Even the little kids were giving me strange glances. I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life.

OH. And of course the one person with the loud ass crying baby chose to sit behind me.

What the ****.

hopped on the plane and this really ****ing cute girl sits next to me and i'm like daaaamn she's got on this nice elegant long sleeve lace shirt, great hair, cute heels that show they're a little big cuz i can see where her toes start...then she pulls out a book and starts reading, then continues writing a memoir, and then starts an outline for a short story.

but then i saw her hands and i figured, she wasn't 18-23, she had to be 30+...and then i saw the big ****in rock on her finger. tryna snag myself one of those kinds of girls. not to put a ring on, just to keep for a while.

separately: have you guys who've done a lot of traveling noticed how so many people look the same? like if you squint your eyes you could be seeing a double of a celebrity or a friend from home

made me wonder why people give a **** about appearance.

and i may have outlined a novel on the plane....so stay tuned

People always tell me I'm crazy when I talk about how similar people look. There are these two girls in my law class, one is ugly and the other is really cute, but I noticed the only difference is the shape of their noses and their eyes.

A friend of mine always said the only big difference in how people look is in their eyes. If you covered up everyone's eyes in a line of photos, like in a yearbook, everyone would look really similar. Haven't actually tried it though.

Why the **** would you play non-HD consoles on HDTV's instead of CRT's? Stuff looks much better on CRT's and it looks like ****ing trash on HDTV's. Not to mention the input lag. Stop it

One of the guys who host melee smashfests here in town has a low-lag monitor with whatever converter to hook it up to a gamecube, they've calculated it to be ~1 frame of lag, and it felt great to me. I love me some CRTs and tend to lug em around to friends to play smash, getting all sorts of weird looks and questions at times, but I'd transition to 1 frame of lag if these monitors became tourney standard, which is what EVO is looking into for melee, apparently.

Wait, so "no items" doesn't include converters, TVs, and the game system? I've been doing this wrong the entire time.

Because it's more convenient. Not everybody has space in their home to have both an HDTV and CRT set up just to play video games. Besides, with legal and less than legal emulation so readily available nowadays there's no good reason to have both.

Stuff looks much better on CRT's and it looks like ****ing trash on HDTV's.
That's debatable. Personally, I think that a progressive scan image looks MUCH better than an interlaced one.

Not to mention the input lag. Stop it
Input lag is an issue for competitive players but for "serious casual" players like me, a quality HDTV with a low response time is good enough. That's why I invested in a Sharp Aquos LCD for my HDTV as it has nearly imperceptible input lag while in Game Mode. Here's a video demonstration.

The whole video is extremely informative but you can skip to 4:37 if you want to see Melee being played in the demo.

Did she have a Samus tattoo?

Yeah people look a lot alike. For example, theres this kid who lived with me for the first 17 years of my life. I always had to share birthdays with him, clothes with him, Christmas presents with him, when kids at the playground would give everyone a stick of gum they always gave me half a piece and him the other and thought they were giving us a whole, and its all because he looks like me. Too many damn look alikes and genetic copies in this world. I finally thought I escaped this imposter by going to college 700 miles away and moving but then a few months ago I'm at a bar and this kid comes up to me and is like "Yo Dan, what the hell are you doing here?!" and I'm like "Dude, my names Dave, my copycat loser brother is Dan"

Try to intervene because I live my life by the famous words of Frederick Douglass.

“Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are people who want crops without ploughing the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning; they want the ocean without the roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, or it may be both. But it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.”
