At this point I'd take any new Zelda character, but IMO the main thing against most of them is that unless they're a legacy character like Tingle, Impa, Beedle or any of the main trio, they only show up for 1 or 2 games and are never seen or referenced again.

Pretty much this, its really hard to justify adding SK over Ghiraim, Midna or whatever other popular Zelda option when they pretty much are standalone (unless future Zelda titles start bringing more recurring characters). Never really liked the idea of Pig Ganon as a standalone fighter as the boss and FS pretty much are what I would expect of someone as intimidating as him.

Tingle seems to be an issue with the Western audience mostly, Impa has multiple incarnations that vary in combat-usefulness and Beedle really doesn't fight at all (hope a potential HW2 proves me wrong).

HW Impa is best iteration for me, but I don’t know how likely she is since this is Koei’s design of the character so I don’t know what the rights of it entail.

This is probably true, but young impa or hw impa would make pretty good choices and fit with what most of her designs over the year have been. Plus that moveset would be sweet

On one hand, I can understand frustration if the newcomers aren't something you're interested in. Veterans don't necessarily have that same reaction because we've had them for some time in the past, but also could want something new.

What I will say, however, is that in a roster of approaching 80 characters, there's got to be something that can garner some interest. I know it's not as easy for others as it is for me, but I'd say delve into some games you haven't played that have playable representation on the Smash roster. It's a really great way to get to know the characters.

For myself, I got into Metal Gear Solid because of Snake in Smash, Fire Emblem because of Ike and Marth (playing Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn made Ike one of my favorites in Smash), I got into Metroid, Zelda, and others all because of Smash. It's rewarding, I really do believe that, and that's only from playing at least one game for each series at the least (I played Earthbound, but not Mother 3 for example...what a trip Earthbound is).

When Brawl was in speculation phase, I didn't really speculate. I was just hyped. But I had no clue who Ike was, who Snake was, who Lucas was, etc. It's easier to appreciate characters when you play their games. It's obviously an economic venture, one that can take much of one's funds. But I'd wholly recommend it.

Even now, I've never played a Dragon Quest game but I have DQXIS on pre-order and am looking at getting DQVIII on 3DS used.

Considering Shadow Dragon's after market price is horridly inflated nowadays, definitely try to pick it up if you can!

Yeah, right now Shadow Dragon is about $40 after tax at Gamestop, but anywhere else it's significantly more expensive. Even if I trusted eBay (last time I got a game from there, Twilight Princess GCN, it was scratched and I got screwed) I won't bother with it.

Really though, I've always liked Marth but have never played through his story. I'm hoping it's really good.

They pump out what, 3 of these live action movies every year? And Lilo and Stitch, which was released in 2002, is already starting its remake?

They'll catch up to the late 2000s by two years.

Tingle is a character who "makes sense", but I don't think he'd be the best choice for a Zelda rep.

LoZ is most popular in the West, which is coincidentally the place where Tingle is least popular. Overall, I think it'd be better to choose a one-shot who has the poularity to be well-received by most fans. Someone like Skull Kid or Midna or one of the Champions, please!

I saw the Dumbo remake recently, it was pretty good. I don't remember much of the original (if I even watched the whole movie) so idk.

However, I found it odd that they got rid of the talking mouse, as if Dumbo himself is anymore realistic. Even funnier, the girl brings up the mouse as a companion for Dumbo early in the movie, but it never actually interacts with him and is never seen beyond that scene, with it and 2 other mice in a cage. I don't really care much, but I still found it odd.

So, now they're replacing Mushu with a phoenix? Disney and their insistence on making strange decisions that I guess disappoints fans. I don't really care too much but I still find it stupid and would likely be somewhat disappointed if I watch the original again as a refresher (to be honest I didn't really remember Mushu's name until y'all mentioned it; I watched these movies years ago). However, I find these movies interesting and nice as alternate takes, but replacing or changing a character entirely sounds pretty dumb, and not having a song the movie is known for is also pretty dumb. It's like if they took "Be Our Guest" and the main theme out of the Beauty and the Beast remake.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, Final Fantasy 7 is one of those games that a lot of people tend to downplay a lot due to how praised it is. Stuff like you-know-who's death tend to also overshadow a lot of the best moments in the game.

It has some of my favorite characters in all FF and also has some of my favorite moments even if they don't seem quite significant. I'm glad that these games are becoming more easily available so that more people enjoy them.

I am a bit curious what is considered a spoiler at this point or not.

Time seems to affect it but like I have a hard time thinking someone’s very prolific death is a spoiler in a 20+ year old game.

Gwen Stacy dies in Spider-Man, which idea a 50 year old death but I can’t call it a spoiler with how old it is.

What 2000s Nintendo characters would you add at this point? Brawl and Smash 4 ran that well pretty dry with Ike, Lucario, Villager, Bowser Jr., Rosalina, Wii Fit Trainer, etc. as well as the classic characters who were notable during that era like Wario, Little Mac, and so on.

I think nowadays a lot of the Tingle hate has died down. They even put him in Hyrule Warriors. But a Smash inclusion sadly still seems unlikely.

I would guess that its pretty much just to the person writing it to judge if its necessary to put spoilers, I don't like to be direct with the spoilers just in case someone is in the dark but wants to play the game but write it with enough info so people that have heard the spoilers know what I'm talking about.

In this case while FFVII is a pretty popular game, is not a game a lot of people here have played due to not being on Nintendo platforms which are favored by many users here. So at least if people haven't heard that particular spoiler, that they manage to enjoy finding out in the story.
