Mark my words, Zelda will get a Zelda Maker, in which you get to create your own dungeons (or shrines) with the expected tools, weapons and enemies as resources. Well, I want it to happen now.
We already got one

It’s called Link’s Awakening remake

I call her Crys, which is what the Japanese call her, its short for Crystal (which they also use in the manga Pokémon Adventures..where she takes Lyra's place and hates her outfit!).
https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Crystal_(Adventures)
I don't want to call her Kris. Usually I just call her Crystal. I never understood why they called her Kris in Crystal when the name 'Crystal' fits in the name entry..I guess its probably a left over from the Japanese version calling her 'Crys' (クリス) since Crystal (クリスタル) was too long for their name entry. Since クリス is pronounced the same as 'Kris', they probably didn't catch the reference to the version name when translating it.
You do realise Kris is also short for Crystal (some people spell the name Kristel)?

Kris is also closer to the romanised form Kurisu (Kurisutaru).

I know, but its what I prefer since I named her Crystal in my playthrough of Crystal and she's called 'Crys' in the English version of Pokémon Adventures due to it being a shortened version of Crystal.
Mostly I don't want to call her Kris due to a personal reason along with just liking how it looks more..which is the same reason I spell color as colour despite being American.

Virtual Console wasn't that great either. Slow releases and a lot of needless repeats from the Wii era + no account/cloud system to transfer and store your VC games.

Coupled with the lack of noteworthy first-party digital sales and very poor internal storage for the Switch, then it is clear Nintendo either lacks an understanding of digital shopping or don't care about it to modernize themselves.
I know that, however after the end of the Wii U cycle and what we have now on Switch, Nintendo went a lot of steps back if anything.

Since クリス is pronounced the same as 'Kris', they probably didn't catch the reference to the version name when translating it and thus made it Kris instead of Crystal, which would have matched the other games which had Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, and Silver by having the version also being a name option.
I honestly kinda hope that Pokémon Masters retcons her name back to Crystal.
Hell man, I just caller her what the Japanese call her, Kris. so to me, thats how her name is spelled

I mean, they call her クリス which can be spelled Kris, Crys, Chris, Khris, Krys, Cris, etc..so we're both right..I was just explaining why I called her Crys is all.
Whats also funny is one of Ethens default named in Crystal is Chris lol
Lol yeah, they were probably both クリス in the Japanese version, so since the translation team saw it as saying 'Chris/Kris', they likely just did a gender difference rather than changing both to Crystal.
Its kinda funny, on a related note, that Japan does not care about gendered names..as shown here..

Haha, nah. I just googled pixel art of Jill and found a Mega Man style work someone did. Matched it to an oversized sprite of Sneasel standing upright, then erased the bits of Jill I didn't need with a pencil eraser in Photoshop. Layer, bam, five minutes.

I can photoshop other people's work. I can't create my own work. That's a skill set I never took the time to learn.
Eh, that's still a good photoshop imo, editing something well is a skill to be proud of.

I mean, it's close, but I mean an actual complete Mario Maker copy with a twist. Won't happen, but I can imagine.

Do have to give credit to Dampé for doing something aside from wandering around a graveyard all the time.

You just described all of Gentlepanda Gentlepanda 's art.

Lol there is two Chris. Ethen who can be named Chris and the girl Chris for the manga Pokémon Gold & Silver: The Golden Boys

Chris for days
Three Chris..the Chinese English translation of Pokémon Adventures calls her Chris instead of Crys (which is what Viz chose)..both are short for Crystal though.

Edit: Actually..there are a LOT of Chris in Pokémon..

Speaking of a hypothetical Zelda maker, what other games would you want to see have a “maker”?

Kirby maker? I’d honestly like to see a Kirby gameplay with level design that increases the difficulty.

F-Zero Maker? You could make your own machines and race tracks. Oh wait we already do both of those in games before, please bring back F-Zero .

Pokémon maker? Would be amazing, but I could never see Gamefreak giving it the ok.

Star Fox Maker? If they somehow figure out a way to make 3D assets be easily placed, the arcady gameplay would actually lend itself to a level designer.

Not a full Pokémon region, that’d be kinda impossible. But maybe Pokémon gyms where you can make the puzzles, set up trainers and a gym leader? It wouldn’t have to be type specific, any theme you want.

I asked for Super Mario Maker as a Christmas gifts back when it came out, but due to being unable to get to my Wii U very often, I didn't play it very much.

Makes me feel kinda reluctant to get Mario Maker 2, honestly...I don't want the purchase of the first one to feel like a total waste...

(I feel similar about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, though that case is far less severe. I did play Mario Kart 8 for a decent amount of time before mostly focusing on Smash 4.)

Sonic Maker would be godly. Something along the lines of Sonic Studio.

They've brought back the frontier members before and referenced the battle frontier a few times now. They just do so without actually bringing the frontier back.

Huh that actually sounds kind of feasible and fun, I have always wanted to be able to make your Gym after you beat the main story in Pokémon games.

Kind of a tangent, but I once had the idea of a Pokémon city building game, or a normal Pokémon game with city buildings aspects. Basically you would need to catch Pokémon to maintain and grow your city, giving you an incentive for catching em’ all besides just completion.

For example, to upgrading your towns Pokémon center, you need to catch a :113: and give it to nurse joy. You need to clear the rubble off this lot for more building space, catch and assign 10 ground type Pokémon to clear it. energy production is getting low, catch some electric Pokémon to give it a boost.

Small little mission to improve your town and unlock new buildings, which require you to catch Pokémon to complete. Having a bigger town will attract more NPCs to come trade and battle. It could come off as tedious, but if executed correctly, I feel like it could be a fun addition to formula.

F-Zero Maker would sick, since FZX had Stages, and FZGX had Machines, but neither had both as far as I know.

Metroid Maker could be really complex, but extremely awesome if executed properly. Same for Castlevania, if the goal it to have a SotN style game. Strider too, if it's like the 2014 game. Pick it up if you haven't it's pretty damn good.

Classic Mega Man has Powered Up's stage maker, and the fan game. But seeing an official Capcom one that adds more mechanics/characters could be nice. Mega Man X with a stage builder could be just as sick, if we consider that a separate series.

DKC Maker sounds terrifying but potentially great.

Crash Maker could work due to the series being pretty linear. Though maybe it'd still be limited to 2D.

On top of that, Contra, Yoshi and Sonic could do well with stuff like this too.

The F-Zero X Expansion Kit let you do both custom vehicles and stages.

Putting a small scale model and saying “the battle frontier project has started” and name dropping one character really don’t count in my eyes, nor does it to most people. It was a very low ball moment that game freak really shouldn’t have done.

And that’s just the emerald ones. Outside of catlin, I’m pretty sure platinums we’re never seen from again.

Well I beat SMM2's story mode. Still have plenty of built in levels to do and have hardly tried the community levels.

I see, thanks. I thought it only did tracks.

If we ever get N64 games for Nintendo's online service, please put the F-Zero X with Expansion Kit on it.

Welp, just heard someone post some Pokemon stuff on GameFAQs so I'll just post it here if anyone feels like reading it (link in spoilers). It's probably a load of crap but I'm just gonna file it under "things to keep an eye on when the next SwSh news dump drops"

  • 104 new Pokemon+Galarian forms (and the Galar forms are not just Kanto mons
  • Majority of Kanto mons return (no surprise) and every region gets strong representation resulting in a regional dex size of over 600+
  • Dynamax only increases health and has 10 levels (10th level has some pokemon Gigantamax)
  • Some new Pokemon in the form of Skwovent (early game rodent) and Lofinch (early game bird)
  • Wooloo has an evolution called Puffluff with even larger wool and more adult like features
  • Fire starter becomes a Fire/Fighter Pokemon based on an athlete
  • Grass Starter becomes Grass/Rock
  • Water starter becomes Water/Ghost (also notes the Intelleon leak is correct)
  • Zamazenta is Steel, Zacian is Fighting, Eternatus is Dark; the **** involving them comes after the 7th gym
  • A bunch of crap about Team Yell and their objective
  • Gym types, in order, are Grass, Water, Ground, Fairy, Fighting, Dark, Steel, and Normal
  • Elite 4 system is more like the Battle Frontier
  • Elite 4 trainer types are Ghost, Flying, Bug, and Psychic
  • Leon's Charizard has a Gigantamax form
  • Becoming Champ unlocks some of the city surrounding the Elite 4
  • There is a Battle Tower system
  • Wild Area looks a lot better than what was in the play test build since they had to crunch the most stable version for E3

Interesting, sounds pretty good so far.
If they have 600+ Pokémon already in, and adding the 104 (assuming it includes Meltan & Melmetal) to the existing 807 Pokémon as of Sun/Moon, making for 911 Pokémon, than only 311- are missing (not counting Alolan Forms of Various Pokémon in either list) and could hopefully be patched in..which would be good move, imho, since they could pull a Smash Bros and just do touch-ups to models but keep the same animations from Sun/Moon and make people happy while still releasing the game on time.
I don't know why they'd bother doing Galarian Formes of Pokémon if they couldn't include all of the originals..but eh..I wouldn't be surprised if Gardevoir was one considering its Japanese name, Sirknight, just seems very fitting for an United Kingdom-based region.

Here's the thing though, that's essentially what GameFreak did..the models they're using really aren't that different from what is used in Pokémon Go & Let's Go, which are just HD versions of the Pokémon in X/Y & Sun/Moon..and they're using the same animations from those games as well.
They actually are adding new animations though. I don't think I've seen a compiled list or anything but I've seen in pointed out that a lot of pokemon have new "entrance" animations when you encounter them in the wild, for instance. They also have more powerful ones for when a max raid battle starts.

I'll admit the Pokemon could probably afford to be a bit more ambitious with their animations though. I'm not sure how fair it is to compare them to Colosseum/Battle Revolution when like 90% of the appeal of those games were meant to be the animation (and less pokemon existed at the time), but they do show that better animation is at least possible.

However, I think people are also being unfair to Pokemon's animations because their anger is skewing their view. "It could be better" has turned into "this animation is lazy garbage" to a lot of people. On that note, it's pretty evident that anger and bias is skewing everyone's judgement - just look at that nonsense about Lillie's model "wasting space for no reason" that got spread around even though their was a legitimate reason for it (duh) as if it'd make any sense for Gamefreak to actually be that incompetent.

Okay yeah it's not fair to mention bias without admitting I'm a biased fanboy myself, but at least I'm kind of self aware about it.
I also want to mention that while I'm pretty lucky as a Kanto fan, I'm still pretty heartbroken that I won't be able to mega evolve my shiny Charizard in that game. I'm even considering just not transferring it so I won't lose that ability.

...Sorry for this surprise mini-rant, it's been on my mind for a while.

I have a feeling that if Crash would get in and we kept finding codenames for the Fighter Pass picks inside Ultimate’s code on the style of “Brave” or “Jack”, Crash’s codename could haven been “Wakko”.
