They’re credited to Mojang, so while Microsoft owns them, Banjo & Kazooie were credited to Microsoft, not Rare. So I think by that, Steve should count as an indie (the character was designed when Mojang was an indie studio). It is admittedly a grey area.

it could be like how Fire Emblem, Persona, and Bayonetta all have their developer companies credited instead of only the publisher

I'm not salty. If it was two spots left then a little but I'm not. Minecraft is the best selling game in the world so it makes sense for it to be in.

Dunno about worse than Byleth but there definitely are a few select people(not naming names of course) who are really ****ing pissed for some reason. Most people seem to like Steve though.

You know what? I concede now about Steve after reading this trivia from Smash Wiki.

"After Mr. Game & Watch, Steve is the second playable character to look completely identical to their original appearance, the first third-party character to do so, and the first to come from a conventional video game rather than an LCD game."

So in a way this has been a long time coming I think and Steve makes the most sense for another Game and Watch situation.

I've gathered that Alex is an alternate default skin for the player character in Minecraft itself, though I'm not sure if there's more to her than that.

It's basically Slender Man but in Minecraft, yeah, Notch said it was based on him long ago.

Think he only apparear at night & only attack you if you look at his face. They can also pick up blocks.

Not your usual Goomba-type enemy you could say.

I normally don't agree with you on some stuff Snake but right here, I 100% agree with you. I don't get it as well. I can why it is a cultural phenomenon in a way but to me I just prefer other things. I never liked the graphical style or the movements either. Plus there are games that just more entertaining to me.

I think this is a Terry situation for me where I am going to enjoy the stage far more than the character.

And looking from a financial standpoint, this is going to push sales for Smash pretty heavily honestly again for a game that has been out for almost TWO YEARS. Watch the big N plans for Smash Ultimate plus Minecraft DLC bundle. No FP2 or 1 but just that.

Hopefully after they use this to push sales we can get some more interesting characters. Still predicting Crash, Geno, Travis, and a Namco character.

Avoid at all cost and just enjoy the new character on it's own merits.

Especially since his moveset is looking quite spicy & out there, which I always like in a new character.

Basically, Endermen are enemies from the End dimension, but they can show up in the Netherlands and the Overworld. They teleport about and pick up blocks, but mostly mind their own business unless you look at it, when it decides you need to die. They're weak to water, and if you kill one you get an Ender Pearl, an item that you can use to teleport. Mixing a Pearl with a Blaze Rod gives you an Eye of Ender, which can be used to find Strongholds and open a portal to the End dimension.
