Frisk or Sans. Frisk cause he's the main character who represents the gameplay of Undertale. Sans for his community appeal, as Sakurai confirmed when Sans got deconfirmed.

Don't get me wrong, an Undertale rep would be cool, but you gotta be realistic about how significant each character is. This is like arguing Specter Knight will get in before Shovel Knight even though both have fully complete campaigns dedicated to themselves.

Okay. Frisk is supposed to be genderless so the player can decide for themselves (even if I think they look the most like a girl don't at me). So you really should use they unless specifically addressing your specific play through.

But the reason I don't think Frisk would fit well is because, gameplay-wise, he is literally just a vessel for our actions, good or bad.
As in, we control him, and he can't do anything about it. So he literally has no personality(aside from out own, obviously)

I won't bring this up again.

Isn't that every silent protagonist though? They are a vessel for the player to insert themselves into. You can't tell me characters like have a defined personality.

I know Undertale takes it to a literal degree, but being a blank slate has never stopped Sakurai .

I agree that Sans was a fan favorite, but I feel he's the pick I disagree with the most(aside from Frisk)

I mean that’s fair, but my point is more that if it were going to happen they would have saved the “Undertale x Smash Bros” splash screen until then.

Considering Sans was the biggest desired pick, if there was going to be a playable character from the series, I feel it either would have been Sans, or it would have been revealed with the Sans costume.

There’s nothing wrong with calling Frisk he or she. He’s completely open to interpretation, and if you take serious offense to anyone calling her a specific gender you may want to reevaluate your priorities.

Maybe the Menu options, but then it'd be Hero 2.0 all over again.

I'm not saying Frisk would be my choice for Smash, I personally think this is one of the rare situations where the protagonist of a game isn't right for representing it. I was just saying that Frisk being a blank slate isn't the best reason to not choose her/him.

So I'm at what I assume to be the final boss of the Blue Lions route with the fight against this new form of Edelgard and I'm pretty sure Dimitri or Byleth could one-shot the boss but the units protecting her seem so strong and are currently kicking my *** so are there any strategies any of you suggest I use?

It's great right! It has this... adicting gameplay loop. It's like, the satisfaction of going fast in a racer combined with collecting little bobbles to get stronger.

No, because I heard it bad gaem.

It's not a platformer, and people wanted a platformer, therefore it was "Bad". The game is actually super tight. Like, I LOVE Banjo and the first two games. And I also apologetically think this game rocks. Saying Nuts and Bolts is bad because it's not a platformer is like saying Mario Kart is bad because it's not a platformer.
