Ahhh 2005 the year one of my favorite game series ever debuted.

God of War. Look how far its gotten now. Once on Greek Mythology now on Norse and eventually probably other mythologies to boot like Egyptian, Mayan, Japanese, Slavic and such.

And what got me into PlayStation and Sony to begin with. Also introduced me to the cult classic that was War of the Monsters.

2005 was also when Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong came out. Ironically my least favorite of the King Kong films. Decent but very flawed such as overuse of excess, being too long (Didn't need to be 3 hours), making Kong too sympathetic and scenes pacing poorly otherwise I love the detail on Skull Island especially the dinosaurs and other creatures that inhabits it.

One of my favourite gaming memories was getting a Boxset called Sonic Action Pack, which had Sonic R, Sonic CD, and the Sonic & Knuckles Collection for PC (I also seem to remember a collection of Genesis games including Sonic Spinball, Columns, and Altered Beast, but I can't find any evidence of it being part of the pack).

2005 was the year Spongebob started declining in quality. The movie had came out the previous year and was supposed to serve as the series finale, but by then the show became too popular. It was renewed for Season 4, and the show continued to get worse in each season that followed.
