King of Fighters is basically the sequel series to Fatal Fury and The Art of Fighting.

Like, SNK doesn't even consider Fatal Fury or Art of Fighting franchises anymore. They're just IPs and the characters and story of the Fatal Fury characters are all crammed into KoF. There's a good reason we haven't gotten a game from those series in 20 years. They literally turned into KoF.

So, saying Terry is "from" Fatal Fury is just overly pedantic because King of Fighters is badically what Fatal Fury became. Just felt the need to point that out.

Ok. I'm at what I can only assume is the final boss in astral chain and I literally don't know what to do. I had to fight three extremely tough boss encounters all in a row and of course they drained all my health packs and all my lives. And this boss is so strong that I can't even deal with the minions that spawn and start attacking it before I die and have to start the encounter over again. And you don't get a whole new set of lives after a continue.

I don't know about you, but this almost feels like broken design. Nothing else in the game up unitl this point has been this difficult and I just don't know what to do. I don't want to give up though because then I'll have to do the whole damn level over again, putting me in the exact same predicament I was in, only an hour later in time.

I just haven't a clue what to do.

Edit: Did it. I discovered I actually had some extra refills in my inventory.

I was waiting for photographic evidence, and it's so beautiful to see. We've come along ways from thinking Banjo-Kazooie were dead a year ago, to them being in an advertisement in a 7-11 in Japan for their cross-over appearance coming soon. *tears up*

Considering Sakurai mentioned that the budget isn’t all that great, I wonder if Banjo takes up a spot in the upcoming Direct for a brief rundown of the content, and we get a release date from that?

Rules out the need for an independent video, and meets the marketing need.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo said “Tune into this Nintendo Direct to learn all about upcoming switch games and more info on Banjo and Kazooie in Smash Bros! “

Kyo's the main character, but characters like Terry or even Geese have been in way more crossovers than he has afaik.

It's basically a Heihachi situation where Jin's the MC, but everyone(Even Sakurai once), considered Heihachi.

I’m gonna be honest here.

I barely had a clue on what SNK was or how many damn games they had before today, but I can say one thing, I’ve seen
Terry all over the internet and never any of the other characters.

Okay, so this leak talk has been pretty wild today. I don't mind it, honestly. Like, go nuts, I don't care. The only thing here that has me slightly concerned is how fast people are willing to take information as fact and run with it. They pretty much just jump on the bandwagon of every character who seemed likely or had some leaker name drop them (because as far as I know, within the past couple of weeks we went over Tracer, Ryu Hayabusa, Nakoruru and now Terry Bogard. That's ****ing wild.)

I just think that approach is a guaranteed path to disappointment. Seriously, I don't think it's wise to bandwagon any characters at this point. Inevitably we are getting a direct very soon, and it's also hard to deny that an SNK character is happening. But still, imo it's just better to wait these things out rather than expecting a specific character instead of setting yourself up for disappointment.

Tbf I called the release schedule for the characters way back when. I figured August-September would have to be the time period for both Hero and Banjo while the other two would likely be November-December and then February.

But I'd love to be wrong and have character #4 and #5 come out earlier.

Yeah, I understand that concept. That comment I made was more directed towards people who might actually be expecting a particular character and potentially getting upset about who actually gets revealed next.

I wonder if Banjo & Kazooie will break the 4th wall in some way, like in their games.

I.e. on one of their victory screens, and they do their pose: if you just wait at that screen without continuing, they could start looking around without breaking character, and could start to look annoyed like “when are you going to end this...?”

I mean, I'd be down for Nakoruru don't get me wrong, but now we're being told that the bird is not the word.

The bird was one of the main reasons everyone even assumed Nakoruru, and if it has nothing to do with SNK, then that sticks a fork in that chicken.
