Considering Sakurai mentioned that the budget isn’t all that great, I wonder if Banjo takes up a spot in the upcoming Direct for a brief rundown of the content, and we get a release date from that?

Rules out the need for an independent video, and meets the marketing need.

Ugh that'd actually be the worst case scenario for me. I really liked the idea of Sakurai "live streaming" the characters--sure, lower budget, but Sakurai's playing it himself, which makes it all the more awesome. While I didn't expect them to do the same as it seems that was a one-off thing for Hero, squeezing their presentation in the short time they have in a Direct (and ticking off non-Smash fans that they're wasting time talking about something that's already been announced) would be disappointing.

That being said... BANJO AND KAZOOIE ARE IN SMASH--NOTHING IN THIS WORLD CAN TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME!

(at the time of their announcement, excluding handhelds as they're not console releases) and . I think a fairer statement would be "Their franchises should have appeared before on a Nintendo platform," but even that is pretty weak. There are no rules, other than what Sakurai/Nintendo wants.

I doubt Mai too, but it feels off just excluding her like that because she really is important for the series. Though, her design presents an issue if Mythra was determined as too graphic.

They don't realize how those breasts would effectively be handicaps in a fight due to their effect on the back, their sheer size, and the fact that there's a likely possibility said female will get constantly socked straight in the ******* which hurts like hell.

Yeah, until actual concrete names are given, there's just too many ways to read the situation.


I mean, hell, I'm not an SNK fan, but I know who Terry is. If you asked me what game he's from, I'd say King of Fighters.

Seems Nakoruru could be our next character but if not I'm more seeing Kyo than Terry. Terry is already in fighting ex layer and all SNK guests are only in one franchise at the moment and KoF motivated Sakurai and Iwata to do a nintendo all-star when they was developing their fighting game on N64 (KoF is an all-star game by the way) so it could be a good wink ^^
