Well to be fair, I’m never outright stating why I think any choices wouldn’t be in Smash in the article. I look at the strengths of each major series in contention and why it may or may not be in.

Obviously everybody here knows which I think are most likely, but I focus on 5 different series.

If that boss mode hint from the Banjo trailer mentioned yesterday is anything to go by, well probably get Boss Rush with Banjo, with a slew of new bosses to boot. Since Banjo and Minecraft are both owned by Microsoft, it’s likely we’ll see Ender Dragon in it as per Vergeben’s claims

I don't think we'll see Ender Dragon, as I believe Verge has said he confused it with Rathalos given how it's mentioned in the code. But I do think there is a possibility (however small), that Grunty is a boss. I had noted the more cinematic look when they show Gruntilda's Lair, and then someone brought it to my attention that the isolated audio of that scene sounds like an intro to a boss music.

Some have said it sounds like Banjo Tooie boss intro music, but I'm a huge Banjo fan, and I can't hear it--sounds more generic boss music from the incredibly tiny snippet we can hear.

It's not that it's an intro to boss music, but in Ultimate each boss (or some at least) has a sound that plays before you see them or fight them, which can sound low but intense like this one (though not all bosses share the same sound). 3BitSaurus noted it's similar to the sound that you can hear before fighting Marx.

Possible hints at a boss rush mode being the mode that comes with Banjo and it will include at least one new boss with Gruntilda perhaps? (And maybe another added with one of the final two. Like let's say Cortex for Crash for an example)

When Nintendo Of Europe accidentally confirmed the release date, part of me felt like Nintendo had it coming for being so coy about the release schedule. Why do we need to announce the announcement a release date? What is this, Atlus?

I know development and release schedules fluctuate and it isn't always easy to pin down an exact date, but if someone at Nintendo said something like "we're hoping for a late July release, early August at the latest" that would have been perfectly fine. A little transparency isn't a bad thing.

gotta say i've not had a game consume multiple days of my life quite like this in years

to think i was so sceptical and even cynical about it two months ago when it might actually be one of the best entries in the entire franchise

Well so much of it reminds me of what Dragon Age II was or tried to be, but with refined Fire Emblem elements and more replayability due to the varying routes. And DAII is my favorite RPG.

This game is hitting every positive note for me and I'm not even out of the first act yet. I'm blown away.
