SoCal Melee PR 12/29/2013 Update

competition is pretty weak in socal
people would rather "play for fun" than try to improve

I really hope Mango Juice 2 happens so we can test ourselves against Norcal again
reality check

since tofu is gone it's probably connor, me, lovage taking up 4/5/6, but yeah after mango/zhu/lucky nobody would be scared to play socal

what you need is a rapidly improving but semi-disliked player, where nobody wants to see this guy get better than them, but if they sit idly by, it will happen

The closest thing we have is MacD. He is definitely an improving player that nobody likes to lose to.

But he doesn't teach the rest of the community much, except how to not get downsmashed, but he'll just counter that with more downsmash.

macd would **** if downsmash wasnt used every second. that move has decent lag and allows for punishment by any character if the person is patient and waits.

one day guys, my c-stick won't go down and i'll have to figure out what else to do...

kouryuu's not bad at all

honestly, over winter break, when he first started going to those connor biweeklies, I thought "here's the next best player after lucky/mango/zhu"

tofu is good dont get me wrong, i just dont think he's THAT good. i feel the same for atlus as well. they are good, but not where they should be on the pr if at all. idk...just my opinion.

Embrace means that Tofu should be taken off because he isn't SoCal anymore! :(

Edit - hmmmmm . . . two tournies left before the next update . . . I'm about to f**k up the PR! I'm gonna try at UCLA and SCSA!
