SoCal Melee PR 12/29/2013 Update

i guess it would be convenient for s2j to become a panelist since, like atlus said, they meet up at dunk's often. it would be nice, however, to have someone like Zhu, Fly, or MacD inputting on the PR since they have a lot of experience and are overall intelligent people in the smash community. also, i'm sure if s2j could discuss issues and share ideas about rankings with his clique even if he isn't a panelist.

Panelist see for themselves how good someone is by playing them either in tournament or in friendlies(in addition to the already obvious tournament placings). Region diversity is helpful because some people live father away from others and might not get a good chance to play with anyone on the panel who can judge their skill. But I think since most of socal goes to tournaments with Irvine and sees them regularly enough there is no need for an Irvine panelist and actually the only region of socal that we don't see often enough at tournaments would maybe be SD but I'm not even sure they can create an active enough panelist.

So all of the past PRs have been pretty "meh" for me (no offense to anyone), but I'm REALLY looking forward to this one! I feel like this PR is going to look more like the ones from back in the day, where other regions can come in a say "*** socal is STACKED". haha *hype*

And this top 10 is going to be harder than ever with Johnny and Alex, which is awesome.

pretty cool lists guys

i think we need a few more tournies to smoothen out a couple placings
as always the 5-10 is extremely close and basically changes every tourny (actually this ranking its like 5-12 is impossible cuz socal's getting so beast)

15-20 will be fun to do, lots of contenders there
when you get to low rankings like that a lot of bias comes into play, for instance a lot of us (me, hugs johnny) would rank wes pretty well, even tho he hasnt done **** in tourny since he's a little choker

we also have to figure out what to do with floaters like tafo, gishnak and joe (imo joe and tafo are socal, gish is norcal since he moved there for work)

also yall are sleeping on stab LOL kids pretty good

That's awesome. The thing is once you get to the prospective ranked players it's tough.

Wes- beat Phil in pools at GSG (score?)/ anything else?
Me- beat MacD in tournament at a Champ Biweekly (2-1)/beat Eddy in pools at a GREV (2-0)
GSUB- beat Kira in tournament (don't know score or which tournament)
Bizzaro- beat Tec0 in pools at GREV 9 (2-1)
Psychomidget- not sure just places well and doesn't lose to noobs
Sherigami- same as killa cam

I might be missing more upsets n stuff lol.

I told most of norcal that most likely I'm staying in norcal. However, I still don't know what the landscape holds for me over the next school year. I could save money by living at home and having a job here or I could move to socal where many of my friends are and find a job.

Umm...In doubles I watch and take stuff:

Marth - PewPewU, Adam, HBK, Taj, Forward, Azen and Ken

Sheik - Amash, Lucien, Kira, Adam, M2K, Teczero, and SFAT

Fox - Connor, Zhu, M2K, Tang, JMAN, Swiftbass, Lovage, PC Chris, KDJ Lucky, Mango, Phil and SFAT

So I guess I learned how to play gay from Dave and M2K
