Did you just call Hylian Juliana?

He's the opposite of a girl. He's actually named Karl. He has a family and stuff. I wrote about this months ago.

If you followed spanish pronunciation, Hylian would be spelled Julian which is close to Juliana?

In ICs dittos... I'd say slight advantage Hylian, but there's always the possibility of something stupid ****ing one of them over...

Well, I'm starting to introduce myself for every main in the brawl character discussion. :p Anyways, despite my username, Yoshi is actually my worst main lol. I'm not too bad with ICs. They're one of my several mains(I have 10 to be exact :p) Ice Climbers are very interesting characters for me, especially Nana. I can sort of Desync, but I can only do the starting desync and desync by having my ICs down throw someone while on a platform. I just spam Blizzard when I desync lol. I do wish the improve my ICs. :D

Well, if I ever went to a tourney, I'd probably go either Ness, Lucas, Kirby, Toon Link or Olimar. :p Not ICs since I still need to learn more about Nana lol.

In fact, I main: Mario, Luigi, Lucas, Ness, Olimar, Kirby, Toon Link, ICs, Pokemon Trainer(though I don't use Charizard) and Yoshi. Though I'm thinking of ditching Yoshi since he's my worst main...

Yoshis the best though.

My advice, if you DO go to a tourney, or plan on it, pick a main. It's ok to have what are called "pockets" which are characters you'd use in tourney, in case you went to a dumb stage for your character, or had a bad matchup...
I main Yoshi and pocket Ganon, ICs, Puff, and a litttllelee diddy.
But my diddy is trash.

In the beginning about 2 years ago, yeah that's what I did. I played a ton of different characters to get a feel out for who I'd like to play the most really. You can keep doing this too if you feel like it. But the best advice is to do what Game and Watch said and only main certain characters.

When you main a character, that means you're putting the most time and effort into that character. The more you try to main, the more watered down your skill will be and the slower you will develop your skill with both your characters and as a player all together. Once you've done that, you can still continue to play other characters, but you won't focus too much into learning them, because they're just there for special purposes. (Counter MUs, bad stages, etc.) That's why we call them Secondaries, they just back up our mains.

So kinda.

Say you have 100 skill points.

It's better to put 80 on one character, and spread the rest out over others you like, than to have 10 characters with 10 on them.
It's a waste of skill.

But I sure wouldn't suggest picking one character and never touching anyone else. Eventually you get sick of that character, and start playing worse.
I take breaks from yoshi all the time, just to keep my yoshi from getting stale.

Of course, I play other characters ALL THE TIME. But when it comes to tourney I only pick 2 characters, Ice Climbers (My wife) and Mr. Game and Watch (The woman I'm using to cheat on my wife sometimes).

That's funny. I rarely to never play Ice Climbers anymore.

Mostly been using Mario, Marth, and Metaknight lately.

Why would I let some silly little ruleset deter me from being the best I can possibly be?

Cause you're playing a game in which Solid Snake can hit Jigglypuff with a baseball bat.

If you only wanted to win, you'd be on MvC3.

Brawls a party game. Fun is ideal!

MvC3 is dead though, UMvC3 is alive.

Brawl is still a fighting game at its core, it just does things more wonky than traditional fighters.

So remember that Diddy I was talking about? He got 3rd at a 40 man tourney today. Beating Lain and Anther, among others along the way. I got 5th, only losing to Shugo in winners semis; and Lain in losers (got sent there early by said diddy.)

Game 1 vs Lain I was actually CGing him on his last stock, and tripped.... He won. I. Was disheartened. :(

I beat #2 and #3 in my state tho. Happy about that.

Well MK is a pain in the balls to do the f/b, so I don't blame him for not using it (assuming lain was MK)
