i have a hard time with a rob. but i haven't played him for two months... i lost a match in 1:37 seconds. lol
I went IC's in teams this weekend. if i had a better teammate, i would have placed atleast 3rd. ha.
he would kill me once every match and would deal me a minimum of 40 damage per stock >.>

It did seem like he knew the matchup but he did make a lot of mistakes that, had I been a better player, probably would have cost him the game.
Regardless, I had a lot of fun and was literally shaking with adrenaline and excitement during my first match. MLG is going to be so much fun and I can't wait to hit up more locals.

if it was directed at me i really don't care. i never had any intention of playing at mlg, so its not like i'm going to rage if i get 2-0'd. i'm going fro the free stuff (3 boxes of trash bags to carry out my free stuff).
MLG was extremely fun. Though you get tiresome of the free stuff after awhile. I dont think i could drink another dr pepper for a couple more months Lol.
Dk is a really easy match up for ice climbers. I have a really good dk in my region which ive never lost to in tournament, money match or any other important set. And i roomed with Will(dk) at mlg and was beating him probably about 70% of our matches maybe a lil more.
dk is easy to cg, Easy to grab. But he hits so hard!

DK hits like a truck, its stupid how powerful he is.

he hits like a truck, but he has a non existant vertical recovery. get him bellow the stage or just CG him till he's in kill percents. he's a heavy so its not THAT hard once you get the grab. he does rack up the damage, though.

That was my issue. I couldn't land a grab on him most of the time and when I did I messed it up because I'm awful at f-throw chains.
Then after a solid minute of desync'd crap that mostly hit him he'd hit me two or three times and I'd be at 60-70%. Oh well, I have a better idea of what to do next time.

Well yea, but at the time he wasn't punishing me for it. I didn't just do that the whole match, it just seemed like my only viable approach. Once I get in close enough it was a different ballgame.
I just need to learn matchups in general though.

Also, people were laughing at me for trying to kill heavies at 100%, but it works even if they DI if you can get the charge right as shown in the above video. I kill him at the earliest possible % like 2 times lol.

I wish I got to play DKs that gave me free grabs by airdodging out of errors, doesn't downb every landing, didn't punch through every blizzard ever and straight up miss d/bairs to kill Nana. Will is too good at this matchup (happy namesearching).
Oh no I agree I've played DK's that were much better at the match-up IMO. Someone here was just talking about him and I showed that he was easy to grab >_> heh.

Yea, it sort of seems like he's a good player that doesn't understand ICs, he gave you tons of extra time in grabs with slow mashes, which is usually a good indicator. You capitalized on his silliness realy well (aside from dropping STUPID amounts of grabs, stop that [it's my thing!]). Heh.
I TOLD you lol. I'm really good at getting grabs but then I'll drop them. I got the last one 0-death at least.
Also, I didn't practice or play brawl for weeks..maybe months before this tournament lol and my controller broke in the middle of the tournament so >_>.

Yea, Ripple is a good player but he leaves a lot of openings for the IC's like Hylain showed. However, Hylian is MUCH better than me in general. I learned some from watching that video though, I'll have to keep a few things in mind in my next match against a DK.
@Rubberbandman: I think it may seem like all I did was deync blizzards to approach, which I didn't. I did use them more than I should have or needed too, but it was far from all I did. Just clarifying.

a beautiful thing about DK is that you can grab his hands. when he used his crazy range to hit you, PS -> grab. they extend his hit box, but also his hurtbox as well.

oh, well, whatever. i get the PS so offten i just assume thats what works. either way, his range works against him.
plus, the top of his head sticks out of his shield. if you predict he'll try and shield, jump ice block/blizzard/anything to hit his head and you'll poke.

I had a messed up controller for a good while.......still double elimed wyatt though without CGs lol
Regardless, my controllers had issue dashing and u kno u cant bthrow without nana dashing.
Why cant they make good controllers anymore?

i have one of the new white controllers and it works really well
I didn't give that as a reason for losing(as I didn't lose lol) I just said it will make you mess up chaingrabs when you can't dash >_<. Which is exactly what was wrong with my controller as well. So annoying. It would dash SOMETIMES but ugh.

u all complain about ur imperfections with cgs and controllers lol wait till you end up losing sets because nana trips during a cg =\ At least u lose to something you can actually work on.

thats happened to me except it was gayer
i was CGing, he paused.
He let me get the grab but as soon as i tried to bthrow, nana tripped.
and this exact scenario has happened TWICE T_T
