Snake....has a Jab-Lock?

Just wanted to see if anyone noticed that Snake can walk with an opponent in with his Jab, pretty much like Mario's (Up close for it to work)
I've used it in matches plenty, but is it of any use to anyone?

Vid plz, i know about Jab to FSmash but not the jab lock, I imagine it only works at a certain percent? I know some jab locks are like that.

I would imagine it only works on bigger characters, maybe some mid sized characters. Like I'm sure you can easily jab lock DDD...but not like..Olimar.

I've only seen jab reset, but maybe he can do a walk jab lock if he hits with a different part of his jab since theres 2 hitboxes, the tipper that pops you up and the normal one

can't you just di the jab lock so it only lasts a few jabs across the stage?

Yes, that's correct jujisutide, which is why i am questioning it being useful.

You can DI all jab locks, so if it works, it's just as useful as all of them. Not to mention it leads into a free Fsmash if you don't screw it up.

Everyone else MAY work against a wall, but it's in need of more testing.

I think the percents needs to be tested too, it seems like its something that would work at mid percents but not high or low.

I got it on the percents, and it works regardless of percent since i'm pretty sure the hitbox you're Jab-Locking with has set knockback, like most Jab-Locks, other than Samus.

I've always expected his jab to lock from the hitstun data, but I never actually thought there'd be anyone who can be hit by his high jab when laying down, so I never tested it. Neat.

Jab locks don't have much of a trajectory, so they can't be DI'd. You can SDI jabs though, so yes, inputting SDI away from the jabber to get you to the end of the stage/platform faster will minimize your damage taken.

Can you do this consistently? Is the timing really tricky? Charizard has a similar thing with his jab in that it resets but doesn't lock very well... it wasn't very thoroughly investigated though.

The timing is very tight, but it is useful if it lets you do some damage before throwing an Fsmash to punish their forced standup.
Yes, you can do it consistently provided you are hitting with the appropriate hitbox (Closest to Snake, near his chest.). Again, i haven't tested against a wall with everyone else, so if anyone wants to, feel free to take over that task.

So it's a spacing thing too? Might be tricky to pull off with someone SDI'ing to mess you up then.

lol right off the bat he gets jab locked into fsmash

snakes jab lock looks so much better than all the other ones

I think it may also be certain characters because some characters' that have small hurtbox cannot be jabbed by Snake more than once or twice. But, someone should test it. I would but I'm in Canada, out on family vacation. And I won't be back for another 5 or 6 days.

Hmm.... I would think the jab-lock is all rather unneeded. I can hardly think of time before mid-percents and higher where you would be able to get a jab lock, and by that time you could probably already kill with fsmash from the forced get-up. The only useful time would be utilting a shield, person falls from the platform and you start the jab lock.

This isn't a "Discuss snakes jab lock" thread, its just stating its there and it works. Also, this can be useful in teams, any jab lock is, at least with proper set ups in 2v1's. Its not like its the most practical thing around, but its there
