I agree 100%, Dont get me wrong...i loved most of the melee songs..... but the soundtrack overall...sounded too muffled.
The Donkey Kong Rap from Melee is a very good example, i barley undrstood diddy's part

Really quick...I think it's hard to judge how the songs sound during a
battle with only hearing a small portion of them. We'd really have to
hear them in context: both the song in its entirety as well as the song
in an actual battle.

-----

Sorry if this has already been brought up, but just wanted to share
something that I realized recently:

After the music update we got yesterday, I've been really listening a
lot to the 4 bites we've gotten thus far. I have to say that they make
me sad for two reasons: 1) I wish I could hear the rest of the songs,
and 2) they really make me want to play!

In any case, as I was listening to these repeatedly, I actually read the
descriptions of them. I really didn't pay much attention to the artist
info. the first couple times because they were mostly just hard to
pronounce Japanese names that I didn't recognize...

Now, I'm not entirely sure what "Composition Supervisor" and
"Arrangement Supervisor" mean, but I did notice a pattern, which seems
fairly obvious now: The "Composition Supervisor" is always a person who
was a composer for the game series that the song is originally from.
For example, from yesterday's Ocarina Medley, Koji Kondo was the C.S.

What is interesting, is to look at who the corresponding "Arrangement
Supervisor" is and to look at what other games they worked on. For the
yesterday's, Michiko Naruke, who worked on Wild Arms, was the A.S. And
interestingly enough, the A.S. for Yoshi's song was Masafumi Takada,
who worked on killer7 and GOD HAND...go figure.

I see that for "Menu 1" is Hirokazu Ando, the primary composer of Melee
and SSB64, obviously, but I didn't see his name on the list of
composers; so, that makes me a little sad. But, already seeing the 3rd
party composer involvement in these songs and their new arrangements
has been interesting. I'm still not entirely sure what the C.S.s are
doing, but it's obvious that they are working on their respective
music, but how that entails these new arrangements, I am not sure. I
wonder what other interesting pairings we'll see for song arrangements
in the future...

Chido's Pick of the Day - 6/27/07
Robots. Very, very small robots. That is the main theme of Custom Robo. It's a really fun game, everyone should try it out for the DS.

I really hope it gets some representation in Brawl, and I would love it if at least a Ray model gets there. So what song to use? How about this one:

.::note::.

So, yeah... I won't be here for the next 2 weeks. I won't have an access to the internet until July 14th (so I'll completely miss E3 :(). Anyways, If there is any music update, please PM me. I will check everything when I get back.

Chido's Pick of the Day - 6/28/07
This might as well be my final pick. Why? Since hopefully when I get back, a whole lot of Brawl info will be given. So by then my picks will be kind of pointless. Well here we go, One last time! With Passion!

This is one of my personal favorites. It has been remixed to death by fans. It should represent a staple track of our lovable kart racer.

Thank you, and enjoy E3! :bigthumbu

yeah can't go wrong with rainbow road, one of the best songs on mario kart.

anyway have fun wherever you go, and sorry you have to miss E3, but only be a day so all the info will be on when you log back on, so you'll probably have a surge of info coursing through your brain when you return

@AL Calnos, Was that directed at my Star Fox music :(
Oh no, that was just my way of praising Zelda music. I'm a big Zelda fan so I can be a little biased when it comes to stuff like that... but Star Fox is awesome. If Star Wolf does make it into the game, it'd be a great fanservice to use that canceled tune as his theme. ;)

Also, I don't care if we already have a Mario Kart level, Rainbow Road stage for Brawl!

I personally thought it was nice to hear these songs in a peppy, upbeat medley. I thought it sounded suitable enough, but you can't really say what's suitable or what isn't if we have not seen the level it's linked to yet.

My only regret is that Hideki Naganuma isn't on the list. He'd make an awesome WarioWare tune, or perhaps Ice Climbers.

Man, this game has an amazing soundtrack. I bet it will just get better and better, with all these composers, I don't see this games music at all bad, I bet all the music will be of extremely high quality.

Obviously it will be, judging by the samples sakurai-sama gave us. The composer list is epic. I just hope that Uematsu Nobuo-sama will do some more of the music. I also can't wait to see what totaka-san is gonna remix.

did you hear the small sample of music in the trailer on the site? it sounded like the pokemon battle theme from saphire and ruby for the first 5, but switches into the brawl main theme, so obviously this is another part of the main theme heard in the nintendo world trailer

I'd reckon that it'll be a smashed up rendition of Animal Crossing, just to give it idividuality and let people hear some Animal Crossing music, but will the music change on the usual time of Saturday at 8:00 when KK sings? And how would it shose which of his songs to play? Randomly I suppose. On another note, If you had Animal Crossing Memory card in, would it show your character?

WOOT! I am back! I'm really surprised to see there was no music update this last 2 weeks.

So.... Dec. 3rd is our judgment day huh? Early Christmas much? I am really glad DK's back. Only Yoshi remains! And I'm guessing Bridge of Eldin is going to be the new Final Destination? Maybe not.

Well, just keep looking forward to the new music updates and other updates as well. Too bad it wasn't showed in E3, but at least we got a date!

Is anyone else stoked that KOJI HAYAMA, legendary music composer from the Ape Escape series is working on Brawl? I wonder what stages/modes he's involved in.

Are you kidding? Every freaking loves the DK.

Rock on, Dk, rock on.

On the note of music, I approve of the Star Fox song, Space Aramda... only because I don't know what I was expecting for the Star Fox song update. It's a cool song, but I'm sure there is something better they could have done... personally I would have liked something like the Orcarina Medley. Oh well, good stuff all the same.

*Kashakunaki, rabid Star Fox fan, gives his stamp of approval* General Pepper: WAAAAAAAH?!

I have a secret, undying love for battle music.
I really think this one isn't as flat as some parts of the Zelda medley have been... it's rather subtle, but with headphones on, it's quite nice. Doesn't sound exactly AMAZING yet, but it's music that just has to be listened to during something. Battles could be amazing with this.
Also, listen closely to when the music fades out.
I already love that part. It sounds so much more dynamic than the stuff that happened before. =D

Much obliged!

By the way, Chido, how about a new daily pick concerning the new Animal Crossing stage? I'd be very interested in that.

That's interesting. Hajime Hirasawa was actually the composer of the first Star Fox game. So it's an internal cross-over.

But Hajime Hirasawa doesn't work for Nintendo anymore. That's what surprised me, and he wasn't in the composers list.
