everything was fine, i loved this song XD but when i hear this i feel like maybe there will be other version of it in the game.

What i mean is for example, the drums sound not so sharp or real,,, so the theory of this songs being some kind of demo of the final versions, seems liley yot me.

But anyways, if the ones that has been presented made it to the game, il be happy enough! =D

Just imagine the star fox stage with the crew vbattling against the evil armada , and this song in the background!!

fantastic!

But Hajime Hirasawa doesn't work for Nintendo anymore. That's what surprised me, and he wasn't in the composers list.
but Hirokazu Ando isn't featured in the list at all either, yet he was the composition supervisor for Menu 1. maybe the list only includes those doing the arrangements.

but i love today's music update. they gave star fox another epic song to add to their list

Hah, so that IS from Star Fox for the Snes! That's awesome!

Also, now I'm confused about what the Supervisors are there for. Who does what, and why are they called supervisors ( doesn't someone certain actually, you know, MAKE the whole thing or something...? )...

Wow, I'm sounding stupid.

i think the composition supervisor it the ORIGINAL composer for the song, so Hajime Hirasawa made this arrangement for the original star fox on snes. the arrangement supervisor is probably who arranges it for brawl

cool, band geeks (i know sounds like an oxymoron, right...)

glad some people enjoy the music. being a fellow trumpet and percussion player, i really love music updates even more when the instrument you're playing has a huge part in the song.

Band Geeks ftw!

That is correct. The list of musicians are the ones hired to arrange previous compositions or provide their own interpretations of said pieces.

Today's update didn't really do anything for me because I don't care about StarFox that much, but I liked the orchestration. It was a well done arrangement.

(I'm a clarinetist, so the best thing I've got Smash-soundtrack-wise has been the Fountain of Dreams solo. The SSBM orchestra concert was nice, though, because it added a bunch of solos, my favorites being the SMB duet and the FE theme).

I dunno, you tell me.
I like the Star Fox music. But when I saw the words "Star Fox" I was hoping for something like the Venom music. AKA: The Star Fox main theme.

And I really hope the next piece of music is from Pokemon.

This is the guy that did the direct rips that this thread links to. I've just finished editing the music samples so that they feel more like complete songs rather than a "try before you buy" sort of thing. I highly recommend re-downloading them to reap the fruits of my labor! I have a lot of experience with music editing, so the loop points should be as seamless as the source material would allow. I also matched the compression settings of the source material, so the sound quality should be near exact.

Main Theme:
http://www.cooltastic.com/music/brawl/01 Main Theme.mp3
This was 3db quiter than the rest of the songs. I've simply raised the volume while avoiding peaking or applying any sort of dynamic compression.

Menu 1:
http://www.cooltastic.com/music/brawl/02 Menu 1.mp3
The original sample fades out as it builds up to an intense moment. I have it loop back to the song's theme at that point.

Yoshi's Story Ending:
http://www.cooltastic.com/music/brawl/03%20Yoshi%92s%20Story%20Ending.mp3
Used the drums near the beginning and end as a loop point.

Metroid Boss Battle Music (Ridley Fight)
http://www.cooltastic.com/music/brawl/04 Metroid Boss Battle Music (Ridley Fight).mp3
This song loops perfectly. Even though I've always liked Ridley's music, I hope that they have a few variations in the final version since the song does get old if you loop it too many times.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Medley:
http://www.cooltastic.com/music/brawl/05 The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Medley.mp3
Tweaked the ends so that this song sounds like a complete composition. Ending at the climax with Saria's song then going to Space Armada is surprisingly satisfying.

Star Fox Space Armada:
http://www.cooltastic.com/music/brawl/06 Star Fox Space Armada.mp3
Found the same instrumentation near the ends of the song, and used that spot as a loop point.

Enjoy!

Weird thing is, that all these remixes went automatically to my first post! No editing FTW! Great job with them too! My only complain.... why did you take the Zelda's lullaby at the end of the OoT part off?

I intentionally kept the URLs the same to keep your job easier. My decision to cut out the few notes of Zelda's lullaby wasn't taken lightly. I apologize to the people who have listened to the original a billion times and grew used to it. I did too for that matter. But I have to go with my initial reaction, that fading out on a partial Zelda's lullaby was detrimental to the piece as a whole. I can't wait until we get the full version with all of the ocarina songs! Until then, at least we've got this amazing version with real ocarina and strings. Left click on the link to go to the download page:

I just used video editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro. No need for Pro Tools in this case. Any multitrack editor will get the job done if you're just mixing material rather than creating it from scratch. Ah, just got a flashback from eight years ago. I actually edited together a single album overture of the four Star Wars movies using only Sound Recorder. "Delete Before Current Position", "Save As", "Delete After Current Position", "Save As", "Mix With File", "Save As"...Lots of trial and error to find points that would cut together relatively well without having a pop. Thank God those days are over.

I'm testingi out a Music Program right now... Ableton Live, it's called. Looks to be very, VERY good, but is very, VERY expensive... (over $600). I'd get it, if I had the money XD

Anyways, I just listened to all the music again... it sounds absolutely amazing! I can't wait to hear ALL of the music they've made for the game! I know it'll be awesome! Here is how they rate on my list, so far:

1. OoT Medley

2. Yoshi Story: Ending Music

3. Starfox: Space Armady

4. Ridley Music

5. Menu Music

Forgive me if it was discussed earlier in the thread, but did we ever establish where the music from the mini-trailer came from, if anything? I was watching it again today and the music intrigues me...

which sucks cause he did really well on the main theme. he did want to do more, so maybe he'll be squeezed in?
He was only supposed to do the main opening, but he said he'd be more then gald to do more if asked (or so I read in a Wikipedia article).

Britain, glaring at you **** yanks.
Seiji Momoi
Meteos (DS) - Opening

Tsukasa Masuko
Magical Starsign (DS)

These composers make up about 50% of my game music. The other 50% is Castlevania music.

I love the meteos music. It's the best fully composed music ever. I play it to listen to the music now, not to play the game or buy new planets. Just the music. It's awesome. Everybody should listen to it, it should be the law.
