This is a reboot of Torgo the Bear 's previous King For a Day thread, but it died. So, I'm rebooting it! The below is copied from the original thread:

They said it wouldn't happen again...but why don't we make it happen again?
The SiIvaGunner King For A Day Tournaments were held as special channel events in which various contestants were pit against each other in a tournament bracket for a chance to host a one-day channel takeover. Over the course of the tournament, various music remixes and arrangements were released to correspond with the contestants. However, this isn't King For a Day 3. This is a brand new tournament based off of KFAD (Examples of these include Mashup Week Megamix and Live For a Day). Now, this brand new tournament is cool and on, but where does it take place? What's the story? Look down below!

Essentially, the tournament takes place in a mysterious hotel that lies in a void inbetween dimensions (explaining the crossover element, and how everyone is in the same place at the same time.) An unknown figure, who claims to own the hotel, decides to run the tournament for the amusement of themselves and the other denizens of the hotel in question. (These hotel folks can be various NPCs or maybe even bosses throughout the tournament!) However, as well as everyone getting to go home (if they cooperate), the winner will recieve a crown that can grant one single wish...

So yeah, the tournament takes place in a hotel in the void! We have sixteen contestants, four bosses, and two hosts! And you may be wondering: What is the tournament called?

But who are these hosts who are running the competition?

"It's one for all, and all for me!"
King Stingy

Finally achieving his dream of becoming king of the world, King Stingy uses his intense wealth to build a hotel in the interdimensional void. However, being the king of the world is pretty boring, so King Stingy decides to bring sixteen unlucky souls/groups of souls to participate in his ripping tournament for his own leisure! Some say that King Stingy gives all losers a cruel and unusual punishment... But that's a joke, right?

Master Ear
You thought Master Hand was the only one around? Master Ear, like Hand, is a giant floating white ear. They are a being of great power capable of traveling through and constructing dimensions. They can also hear almost anything. When they heard how big Stingy's ego was, they immediately swooped in and pitched the idea of the Dimensional Junction to him. They promised that hosting this tournament would bring him everything he wanted. Fame, money, possessions. And Stingy jumped at the chance, convinced this would be his big break.

Master Ear provided the hotel, organization, contestant choices, rip scheduling, janitorial duties, concessions, and paid for the hotel's wi-fi. While Stingy provided... uh... moral support, kinda? What would they do all this for? Well you see, Master Ear absolutely loves music. The simple joy of listening to it is their favorite thing in the whole world. Their one dream is to be able to make music themself. However, they are absolutely incapable of making any sound at all. They can make entire worlds from nothing, but not a single peep. This even extends to certain actions they make, if they cut down a tree, it's fall will be completely silent. This is why they need Stingy. If he is technically the host of the tournament, it seems that whatever law of the universe prevents them from making a sound doesn't apply, and they can listen to all the music they want to. This is why they go to the lengths they do. Just don't tell Stingy that the hotel is made from Master Ear's magic earwax.

There is a dark side to Master Ear, however. They are really picky. Anyone that doesn't fit their standards of being "worthy" (AKA the losers) tend to disappear under mysterious circumstances. Hm... Why am I getting a sense of déjà vu?

And if you want to get a better grip on the hotel, here are some facilities in the hotel:

Lounge Area
This room is actually rest area for everyone, where you can hang out with friends, relax peacefully or wait for your Room to be open for staying. The lounge area has huge couch for everyone and there is a table, where you can put stuff like Plates on it. In this room, everything is filled with 24K Gold Luxury, where there are famous Paintings with replaced faces of Stingy.

Personalized Rooms for the Contestants
Each contestant will get a room to themselves, and teams will have to bunk together. This can lead to some interesting miniature plot lines for minor character development, such as expanding on Plague Knight and Mona’s cute, awkward relationship. Plus, we could establish that each room has a unique design…at the very least Lo-Fi Girl’s room should look like the one she has in her source. And I can see Plague Knight and Mona’s room resembling their hideout. I’m not sure what the SNK gals should get though…

The Guest Rooms and The Hallways
Beyond the personalized rooms, the hotel has many more generic rooms for guests and spectators to stay. In fact, the hotel actually has an infinite number of rooms. Just don't go too far into the hallways. The deeper you go, the more twisted and bizarre it becomes. Twists, turns, impossible geometry, and confusing layouts await if you go too deep. Eventually, if you keep going deeper and deeper, you may come to a point where you can't go back. Just what is this place? And how did Stingy of all people get it?

Food Court

The first or second story of the hotel will have the cafeteria, just as all hotels have a little place where guests can get a continental breakfast to start the day. This being King Stingy's extravagant dimension, though, it's far more decked out than a simple cafeteria. Different stations contain buffet bars pulled right from the varied and wild worlds of everyone involved in the tournament. At the moment, all of our contestants aren't known for eating anything strange, but everyone will have options in the future. It'll be a place where all the characters can meet in the mornings and evenings and get to know each other over a meal. In true LazyTown fashion, there is a focus on giving out candies at every possible station!

Music Room
The music room's appearance is a large backstage. You can find almost every instrument here! There are also large speakers and microphones everywhere, and posters of famous album covers, except all the faces on the posters have been replaced by the face of Stingy. People come here to listen to music, try out music for themselves, or just steal the louder instuments (Usually the tuba and airhorn) and blast them in the ears of others.

The Balcony Bar.
A hotel floating in the abyss between dimensions is pretty popular for various beings from across the worlds. However, one thing that's a particular draw to the place is the sheer eldritch beauty that is the "sky." Neither up nor down, it's so... bizarre that it attracts beings of all kinds - and what better thing to do than to stare into an indescribable void whilst drinking a cold beverage?

It's for this reason that King Stingy had a balcony built on the hotel's roof. The balcony itself keeps that wonderfully ornate aura held by the rest of the hotel - golden handrails, a heated pool, and even various chairs and the like. Perhaps the most notable attraction is the bar present - King Stingy hired a bartender by the name of Tapper, who's pretty much an expert at making any sort of drink one might ask for. Yes. Any drink. Turns out he's a nice guy, but he's only working under Stingy because he pays well - he's a little suspicious of Stingy too...

Stingy Stadium
A giant stadium on the 346th floor where there's just about a field for any sport you can imagine. The stadium is littered with statues of a muscular Stingy performing various physical activities. This is a popular area among guests in the hotel with a maximum capacity of one billion people. Anyone can participate in a game being held if they sign up in advance. But that's not all. It is extremely common for people to come to the stadium to gamble and bet. Anyone who ends up in debt to Stingy gets sent "The Dungeons", but that's a topic for another time.

Definitely the most popular sub-area of the stadium is the fighting ring. In a ring with no ropes, people come to watch and wager on people duking it out. The ring is very high, and it is said that falling from it sends you straight to the dungeons. The SNK Heroines visit the ring a lot, but are skilled enough to defeat opponents without pushing them over the edge of the ring.

(Don't ask me how this would fit in the hotel, but this is King Stingy we're talking about)

Location Name: The Great Library of the Void

An infinite hotel would likely need an infinite number of... things, and it looks like whoever used to run the library went into overdrive. It's said (albeit in hushed circles) that it has at least one copy of every concievable book in every reality, with the logic being that it's made up of every single permutation of the English language - but without the downsides of the Library of Babel having a huge number of books with nonsense strings of letters. There is, however, a catch. Unlike Babel, this library is completely disorganised. Despite there being various suggestions as to roughly what goes where, it's implied that ever since Stingy took over, the library's fallen into chaos because who would read when they could have fun with Stingy?

The thing is, the library itself has a lot of bizarre properties that make it particularly interesting. There's no librarians, and the state of the books in the library tends to reflect the state of the hotel itself... hence all the chaos. Not only this, but it's physically impossible to make or hear sound in the Library, which is an extra special reason why Stingy doesn't want his competitors in a music tournament to enter it, and it means folks inside need... special means of communication. Of course, there's another reason - it might not have occurred to Stingy, but it definately occurred to whoever's above Stingy... something in that Library might just be responsible for unravelling the tournament's secrecy if it's used in the wrong way, and that cannot happen.

Oh yeah, there are some guys making things difficult.

The Guy

The final boss of I Wanna Be the Guy. The titular Guy is the final hurdle for The Kid to overcome after passing a seemingly endless stream of fruit, spike, and moon. In the tournament, he's grown tired of modern gaming with it's "fair difficulty" and other nonsense. When Stingy looked for strong warriors to take the role of a boss, he jumped at the chance.

The best teeth in the game has graced the tournament with his presence! A music competition needs a judge, doesn't it? And this cutthroat interdimensional competition needs a ruthless judge like Anthony Fantano, arguably the most famous and influential single music critic currently active on the Web. He's become an icon even outside of the musical circles because of the incredible amount of memes he can generate on a daily basis. Despite the memes, his opinions on all artists, big to small, are generally very respected. King Stingy will use his expertly critical ears to make sure all the results of the voting are authenticated, or something like that. Perhaps King Stingy only brought theneedledrop himself just to make all the contestants feel bad about their work. Still, he has opinions and he'll be glad to share them with everyone here, no matter how they react.

Hey, I’m glad you did this. I have issues with commitments sometimes, and I always felt kinda bad about never finishing the old thread, but I was still stuck in a permanent state of feeling too awkward to go back since it’s been so long. I’ll be glad to join in on this new version!

so anyways for my choice on job 1 I actually think it’d be cool if we made something original. We could have a lot more fun and freedom with choosing contestants, and it might be easier to try and make a story if we get to that.

Job 2: The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. Or maybe I'm just biased. To be fair it's a pretty valid name for something like this, plus it could give us an excuse to have Neil Cicierega as a host.

I don't have anything for Job #2 because I feel like I would want to know the premise of the tournament before I chuck a name at it. Like how for the SiIvaGunner event, the tournament is named after the prize at the end. Maybe one of the next jobs could be figuring out the prize?

Job #3: 16 Contestants

Sixteen was a good number to start off with in the first KFaD tourney, and it's best to start small here too imo. Better to get the bearings and all, and there's nothing stopping us from padding out the character list by adding bosses, hosts, or just increasing this number later if we feel like it. Plus sixteen divides perfectly into a bunch of duels, so that's nice.

Job #4: Lofi Girl

Believe it or not, I went through a phase about two years ago, soon after the ending of KFAD 2, where I decided to create a few fan-made contestants for the series as an excuse to practice drawing digitally on my new tablet computer. Looking back, I can definitely see some big ol' flaws in this two-year-old art, but I'm still proud of the ideas in them so I might as well start to submit them here eh? This is I believe the second one I drew, the studious young girl from the famous ChilledCow "24/7 lo fi hip-hop beats" livestreams. Similar to how the girl from Rhythm Heaven got a fanmade name for KFAD 2, I thought she could be named Cédelle, a name based off a French musical term because she seems to live in France by what we can see out her window. Anyway, onto the more important information!

Obviously, Lofi Girl gets lo-fi songs, like the ones I would always hear on the Adult Swim bumpers. She'll also get any songs that are in a "chill" kinda genre to expand her repertoire, but the focus should be on the hip-hop beats to not make her too OP. Since her art style is based on Studio Ghibli's art style, I decided to just let her have any of the soundtracks from those movies, too, to add some variety.

(These hotel folks can be various NPCs or maybe even bosses throughout the tournament!) However, as well as everyone getting to go home (if they cooperate), the winner will recieve a crown that can grant one single wish...

Each Character needs to fight with singing like Beatbox Battles by Verbalase and if someone wins, it goes it stays on Arena and waits for next Contestant to fight with.
After 4 People, there is a boss, who is fought on Arena.
When you get into Last Stage as Duel, you face the Final Boss the Game, who acts like Master Hand and you need to Fight him using Rips.

All the contestants came voluntarily to show off their high quality ripping skills, expecting to just have a fun time. However, the twisted host reveals that the prize is something that everyone absolutely must get their hands on. Something like a free wish, where it makes everyone start to take the tournament way more seriously than they thought they would and it leads to rivalries and drama and all that jazz.

We had a lot of duos submitted in the first round, and duos are definitely a KFAD staple, but let's take it a step further and add a contestant who is a trio or a quartet instead! This was a tough voting round, as I was struggling on voting between contrasting duo and adult media, but I had to choose contrasting duo, as it has the most potential. I only submitted an anime character since I didn't know what to submit, and I just looked at some manga I had in my room and decided to submit based on that.

Given I can't submit my own, my vote will go to Dan Quixote's Upgraded Tournament. My reasoning is that it's quite a nice way to start it - and I love the idea of high quality ripping being framed as a sport!

Well... I actually had a concept ready for this one from an old tourney I helped out with a while back. Whilst it didn't end up being used, here it is! (Please note that I based the design loosely on the visual design of Mashup Week Megamix, but the character is all new.

Spoiler: Character #02 (Warning - Image Heavy!)

That's right! Toxtricity is my submission - the one and only Punk Rock Pokémon is here to shock the opposition! However, there's a few things we should consider when submitting him, and I'll answer some of them right now.

Spoiler: Important Questions!

Q1. Why not Low-Key?
My suggestion for how to handle Toxtricity simply came down to the more popular option, being Amped form. Whilst I did consider adding the pair together, having them both would do very little for their sourcelist - which in turn means that the pairing would bring nothing to the table in terms of rips. However, I think that Low-Key would be a good side character, similar to how in KFAD2, characters would often bring guests with them to interviews and the like.

I'd also like to note that I did consider a Galarian band of some sort, being made up of both Toxtricitys as the guitarist and bassist, Obstagoon as the singer and Rillaboom as the drummer, but I felt it was slightly unfocused. Even so, there's nothing stopping characters like Obstagoon being "guests" in the Interdimensional Hotel.

Q2. How will Toxtricity even speak?
I think it would be fair to allow Toxtricity to speak normally. Given that Meowth has been able to speak in the anime for some time, and Calyrex is able to speak in Crown Tundra, then it's not illogical to suggest such. If you wanted a lore-based explaination, you could just suggest that the properties of the void in which the tournament takes place allow all languages to be understood.

Q3. Why is he limited to GameFreak as opposed to all Nintendo RPGs?
There's two answers here, to be honest. The simple answer - balancing. Whilst GameFreak does have a few solid rips, giving Toxtricity this works well alongside his main rip (Pokémon, which has a ton of stuff) and his flavour rips, being quite sizable in themselves.

The more complex answer is where you draw the line at an "RPG" in Nintendo's case. Sure, something like EarthBound is unequivocally an RPG, but what about Fire Emblem? It's still turn-based. In fact, Zelda could be argued to be an action-RPG, which then opens the doors to games like Xenoblade as well. Giving him all Nintendo RPGs leads to source confusion, and overall a sense that he has missed potential in his sources.

Q4. Why Toxtricity over [BLANK] Pokémon?
For me, it comes down to a few aspects. After all, there are other music/sound related Pokémon out there, such as Jigglypuff, Exploud, Meloetta, Noivern, or the aforementioned Obstagoon, amongst many others. However, I felt their flavour sources weren't as exciting. Toxtricity's typing (Electric/Poison) is unique amongst the Pokémon world, and allows a wide variety of pretty solid sources that you wouldn't necessarily get with the Normal typing most sound-based Pokemon get stuck with.

Then, there's the added matter of Toxtricity being based on a specific genre - punk rock - that makes him, to me, an obvious choice. Punk as a whole would work well here, so we use that. Adding in the aforementioned GameFreak source as well as the Pokémon source makes him a fully-fleshed out sourcelist.

Anyways, I hope this is a fairly good submission. I know that he might be playing it safe compared to some wilder picks out there, but I think his overall sources are pretty solid and give a fairly good representation of the character, as well as plenty of potential in terms of rips. Hope y'all like it!
