I wasn't gonna do this but honestly both of our hugest rated characters deserve this

Daredevil and Hawkeye get in!

Submit a Magical / Supernatural
We do have Nico and Doom. But the Magical and Supernatural side of marvel has some really huge characters that are missing from our roster.

Doctor Strange
Another "has to be here" pick for a Marvel roster. He has so many abilities that could be translated to a fun moveset.

I could have nominated someone earlier, but I wanted to wait until after I was done work to give other people time to nominate someone.

With that in mind, here's one of the picks that will come to mind pretty quickly for most people.

Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff)

One of Marvel's first magic users, originally appearing in the 1960's X-Men comics as a part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (they clearly weren't big on subtlety back then). Wanda and her brother Pietro (a.k.a. Quicksilver) were clearly conflicted with their membership in the Brotherhood, and both of them quit in order to join the Avengers, a group that Wanda in particular has been affiliated with ever since.

Wanda's powers initially started out as a mutant hex power that altered probability, before training with Agatha Harness revealed that she could actually use magic and witchcraft, making her a powerful witch in more than just name. During her time with the Avengers, Wanda fell in love with the Vision, and she even warped reality to make it so they could have kids.

(Since the Avengers are basically a superhero soap opera at times, there were plenty of love triangles, multiple times where she tried to find her "real" parents, and her kids were eventually revealed to be part of a plot by Mephisto, her marriage to the Vision was revealed to be a plot by Immortus, and the souls of her magically-created children were reincarnated in the form of two of the Young Avengers, Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd, both of whom are probably much older than her kids would have been if they had aged normally)

In video games (since luck isn't a very cinematic superpower), she often uses Hex Spheres or Hex Bolts, so basically blasts of energy. While she's extremely powerful, she's not very durable, which seems like it would translate to her being a lightweight zoner in terms of gameplay.

I was going to submit Wiccan, but I fear he'd be a bit too similar to Wanda so I'll go another route.
Character Submission - Loki (Journey Into Mystery/Thor/Loki)
1652313787116.png

Loki's been a lot of things in the comics. Sometimes he's a hero, sometimes he's a villain, sometimes he's both. Sometimes he's a teenager, sometimes she's a woman, sometimes they're running for President of the United States, and sometimes he's Sorcerer Supreme. But if there's one thing the god of mischief (or stories) won't ever do, it's being predictable. His long and vast history is ripe for moveset potential. He can use illusions to trick his foes, shapeshift into a variety of forms, and perhaps even use cryokinesis from his frost giant heritage? There's also the uncountable number of magical trinkets he's used over the years that could be used as well. If we want to bring aspects of the character from the MCU (which I feel would be warranted, considering how beloved Tom Hiddleston is in the role), we could give him the Scepter (which housed the Mind Stone), the Tessarect (housing the Space Stone), and any number of objects the TVA had at their disposal. Loki is an obvious choice for this game, and I hope that everyone else sees it.

Ghost Rider, the Spirit of Vengeance.

He's been brought up a few times already, I think, in different incarnations. My favorite has always been Danny Ketch, the one that originated using chains as weapons and the Penance Stare.

Doctor Voodoo (Jericho Drumm):

1652332538166.png

Doctor Voodoo is a psychologist born in Haiti, who in order to avenge his brother's death, learned voodoo and emerged his loa with his own spirit; taking Brother Voodoo as his first alias. While he usually plays a side role in a lot of titles when supernatural aid is needed, he's nevertheless a formidable magician on his own, even being the Sorcerer Supreme for a while.

Doctor Voodoo is a criminally underused character in my opinion and has a wide variety of unique spells that can make him a unique fighter. He can manipulate spirits of nature and death alike to help him, control animals and plants, cast illusions, and teleport by using flames.

Job idea: Submit a Sinister Six summon

I feel like most of Spider-Man's rogues gallery has been part of some incarnation of the Sinister Six, with a handful of exceptions. (Any version of the Green Goblin, Carnage, Morlun, Mephisto...) Spidey's villains are up there with Batman's in terms of recognizability, and there are plenty that might not be chosen as a playable character but could work well as an assist.

Here's a visual of what we've got so far, in case it helps with ideas for what we could add; I'll try to make one for items as well.

Playable characters (not part of this current job, but I figured it would be neat to see how far we've come with this line-up):

Job Idea: Submit an alternate costume list

We could probably do Spider-Man or Iron Man first given the amount of material both characters have to work with in their many redesigns and whatnot, as well as them two probably being the most popular in our roster (and therefore giving the thread a chance to gain some more contributors)

Submit a Spider-man boss
We already did that; the result was Knull, the symbiote god from the King In Black event. (the only bosses at the moment are Knull, Apocalypse, and Galactus - there are other series that could lend themselves well to a boss fight, though, like Marvel's monster comics, Dr. Strange, cosmic Marvel, Thor and other mythological series, etc.)

I was originally planning on having Galactus be our only base game boss but I feel its only for to do more. We'll figure out how they fit in later.

We'll do all these rounds

Mysterio

Would conjure up a bunch of artificial versions of his summoner. Similarly to Forsburn's illusions in Rivals, they might be passive or aggressive in their playstyle but defend themselves, and only have 5% health before exploding into green dust clouds - however, there are a lot of them and there are no visual differences between the prime character and their clone. The clones will only use normal attacks which don't do as much damage as the prime character's attacks.

Dr. Octopus will appear and begin walking across the screen. His tentacles cannot be walked through and will cause damage when touched. Only his actual body can be damaged.

In case anyone needs an idea of who's even been in the Sinister Six, here's a list. (though teams 12 and 15 don't count since they're holograms and imaginary, respectively, so unfortunately, I can't nominate Morbius the Living Vampire)

Boomerang (Fred Myers)

This guy, right? Leader of what is objectively the best incarnation of the Sinister Six, the one from the Superior Foes of Spider-Man. (just kidding, they're total losers) Boomerang started out as a foe of the Hulk, but someone at Marvel's editorial presumably realized that "man with boomerangs" vs. "the strongest thing alive" was something of a mismatch, so he made the transition to Spider-Man's rogues gallery.

Boomerang is armed with different specialized boomerangs, and he'll throw out one at random when summoned as an assist:
-shatterangs - break into pieces when hitting someone (normal damage)
-gasarangs - boomerangs that launch tear gas on impact (longer stun)
-gravityrangs - create a gravity field around the target (slows the target)
-multirangs - normal boomerangs, but he throws several at once. (light damage, but hits multiple times)

Forgot that.

Okay ...

Vulture marvel.gif

The Vulture.

Adrian Toomes is a mechanical genius, remorseless killer, and all around nasty piece of work, frequently using his old age to his advantage to make opponents underestimate him. In addition to being a long time Spider-man foe and founding member of the Sinister Six, He's notable for being the inspiration for Peter Parker to sell pictures to the Daily Bugle as well as the first supervillian encountered by Cable after he rreturned from the future to the present day.

Once summoned, Vulture will fly back and forth across the screen doing damage to anyone he collides with.

For his design, I didn't want any of the modern armored teched out redesigns. I just wanted the good old fashioned green body suit with wings.

I love the Vulture's pose here; you can practically hear him yelling "Get off my lawn, you punks!"

I've been away from this. Lacked drive. To make up for it we will be doing a character round. We'll do the other rounds later

Submit a character
yep. Submit anyone. As long as they're Marvel obviously. Submit someone you feel is missing from our roster.

ANYONE, you say? Hmmm...

Taskmaster

Taskmaster is a very unique fighter. How he works is that he copies the moveset of a random opponent whenever the match starts (so just his opponent if it's a 1v1). So he's basically one echo fighter for the entire roster. You might be wondering how he copies some of the roster, like Hulk and Doc Ock, but trust me when I say that this guy has some serious technological skill. Maybe he has some copied Octavius arms or his own variant of the Hulkbuster somewhere. This saves us quite a lot of work from including other echoes or clones, and Taskmaster's just really cool in general.
EDIT: I should also probably mention that there are plenty of other ways for Taskmaster to work, like only having one special that echoes his opponent (like Kirby) or giving him a little menu of the cast to choose to echo before the match starts. We can decide on that stuff later.

Ben Grimm/The Thing

I feel like we should include a member of the Fantastic Four in here - we have their main villain, a member of their supporting cast, and the final boss of the single player mode is a big threat that they've had to deal with on a regular basis (there's also Namor, who seems to fall into any of those categories depending on how he feels that day). Reed would be a, pardon the pun, fantastic addition, and there's plenty that he could do beyond stretching...

...but if I had to pick one member of the team, then you'd better check your watch, 'cause it's Clobberin' Time!

Ben Grimm, a.k.a. Aunt Petunia's favourite nephew, a.k.a. the Idol o' Millions, a.k.a. Blackbeard, a.k.a. the Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Thing was, much like his teammates on the Fantastic Four, caught in a storm of cosmic radiation and transformed. The main catch is that, unlike his teammates, he can't turn his powers off, leaving him a living mound of rock.

As a result, he was the "wild card" of the group, temperamental and hard to predict. He viewed his powers as a curse at first, but eventually, he met and fell in love with the blind Alicia Masters, who could tell how kind and gentle he was without being frightened by his monstrous appearance.

Ben has super strength and enhanced durability - while not as strong as the Hulk (even if he refuses to admit it), he's smarter than ol' Jade Jaws (he was an astronaut, after all) and he's an excellent boxer and wrestler (even participating in the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation, which is basically WWE for superpowered people), which can help to change his moveset up and make him a grappler in contrast to the Hulk, who would likely be more of a hard-hitting rushdown character.
