Nope, can’t see it happening this time around and there’s no confirmation of a second wave so people should’nt get their hopes up.What are you guys thoughts on a Smash Ballot for Ultimate? Do you guys think it's possible?
au contraireProbably not. Sakurai has already confirmed that the characters selected for the Fighter Pass were from a list given to him from Nintendo, and TBH I wouldn't get hopes too high for another Fighter Pass.
It's not just the topic at hand, it's a long standing pattern. Whenever people don't like newer stuff, you love to poke the bear (pun totally intended)The topic was "least wanted character/stage as DLC", stop acting like I'm doing some personal attack on your favorite game lol
That applies more to the base game, however. The Assist Trophy characters were never seriously considered as part of the base roster. For DLC, however, a better argument for “Argh, being an Assist Trophy screwed my character overI think it's the same thing with Assist Trophies. A lot of people act like ATs lock their characters out of DLC, without even thinking if their character would even be considered for DLC in the first place.
I don't think having a Spirit in-game would stop the development team from adding a character but I think almost all, if not all, Fighter Pass characters will be new to the series. So in the end, Spirits wouldn't change anything.
I'm pretty sure I’m the only one who supports Corsola, Moge-ko, and Dragonite for Smash, even though I’ll readily admit that of those three, Dragonite's the only one who stands a ghost of a chance; Corsola’s only ever been notable as literal Mareanie chow, and Moge-ko and the game she comes from are so ridiculously family-unfriendly that Sakurai would have to be off his rocker to include her.Man, I can't think up a single character like that, I wonder who fits this criteria. Hmm...
*googles "how do I like a post twice?"*Why would I be? I genuinely enjoy Fortnite and it's the first and only Battle Royale game to get the genre right.
As for Rare characters, I'll literally never understand their appeal, they have no character to them and their designs make most Isekai anime look like a Da Vinci paitning. They mostly seem to rely on nostalgia for average games.
Why can't we want a content from a contemporary game and have to think what will happen to it in the next decade, again? Well, I guess there are only so many ways to gatekeep new stuff.I know Fortnite isn't a bad game, although it is one of those games I feel too old to play as, with most of its playerbase being actual children, and the game being a lot faster paced/tactical than I imagined. My problem with Fortnite is that I don't see it as having a long lifespan, it currently seems like a fad. It's no cultural zeitgeist of gaming, but a just a mark on gaming history, like when League of Legends was relevant. Fortnite content in Smash Bros would definitely leave a dated mark on it more so than any other franchise I can personally think of. It wouldn't be bad, but it would be like a South Park episode: good for the present of feeling culturally relevant, but in a few years gives a weird dated feeling, and not the one of nostalgia.
Although I do agree that I've never been too much of a Rare fan myself, but there still is a huge crowd out there of people who would sell their children's souls to get Banjo in the game. I can understand the disappointment of having a company never doing anything with the IPs you once held dear. Although characters like Banjo would fit in perfectly for Smash Bros as a playable fighter, but sadly his series isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
It's fine to want contemporary games just as it is fine to not want games without a clearly defined legacy.*googles "how do I like a post twice?"*

it also helps the actual turtles nes gameRare is top notch in my book for Battletoads alone, that ****'s ballin', great game that's given me so many more hours than any other NES game, largely due to its absurd difficulty of course, but that I still want to play it despite that means it does something right. Yes, it's a Ninja Turtles knockoff, but who cares, it's a great time regardless.
Not sure how the new one is going to go though, as much as I love it I'm not sure what place it has outside of the 90s, but I'll probably give it a shot.
People said that about Mario Odyssey DLC that was "obviously" coming, or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC.au contraire
need i remind you?
I'd say anything that's a decade old is far past contemporary. Is Captain Rainbow part of the modern or contemporary cathegory?
He isn’t in that case.I'd say anything that's a decade old is far past contemporary.
I hate Chunky and Kiddy. Chunky ain't even fat...I think the charm in a lot of Rare’s character designs is their weirdness.
A lot of them are so odd and quirky, but that’s what makes it appealing to many. It’s in a weird combination of dated and timeless.
Except Kiddy Kong, he sucks.
They aren't opposites? Is Captain Rainbow part of the modern or contemporary cathegory?
Funny you leave out mario kart 8 which had multiple years of dlc..People said that about Mario Odyssey DLC that was "obviously" coming, or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC.
Even Splatoon is wrapping up. Considering that it's gonna take nearly a year and a quarter to get all 6 fighters out (and that's assuming nothing gets delayed), I don't think it's too reasonable to just assume they're going to give this game multiple years of updates with this game when they haven't with any other game.
It had two packs of meaningful content that came out in the same year and then it was done.Funny you leave out mario kart 8 which had multiple years of dlc..
I know.They aren't opposites?
The latest update added Breath Of The Wild stuff, if i am not mistaken.Funny you leave out mario kart 8 which had multiple years of dlc..
Yeah it totally didnt add 200cc or come to the nintendo switch to stay alive for even more years after that.It had two packs of meaningful content and then it was done.
on january 8th lets all go to sakurai and ask for a fortnite genoI want the Fortnite content trailer to start with Geno getting shot by Jonesy
The Switch release was a port that added Battle Mode and Inklings.Yeah it totally didnt add 200cc or come to the nintendo switch to stay alive for even more years after that.
Then "or" was a poor choice of words.I know.
I wasn’t using opposites.
Let's not and say we did.on january 8th lets all go to sakurai and ask for a fortnite geno
the look on square-enix's face will be epic!!!
You are probably right. Then "or" was a poor choice of words.
MhmmThe Switch release was a port that added Battle Mode and Inklings.
There's also a very big difference in Mario Kart racers compared to Smash fighters.
All I'm saying is that there's a lot of things that would make money that Nintendo doesn't do. Switch VC being one of them, yet here we are with NSO's NES only policy.Mhmm
and this still ceases to be true so..
As a Metroid fan, i would suggest these games of the franchise:you know as someone who hasn't played a metroid game samus is pretty ****ing cool
like her power suit looks so baller and her jet heels are cool (though I kinda wish they were jet boots or something more practical)
Super Metroid is my other older brother's favorite game of all time. (I have two older brothers lol, this isn't the one who plays in Ultimate)>Zero Mission
>Super Metroid
>Fusion
>Prime 1
>Prime 2
>Samus Returns
>Prime 3
And what is stopping them from doing it? It makes financial sense to have a second season with how well smash is doing and how many units its selling, and every fighting game now has at least 2 season passes.. It is basically like trying to say just because it makes sense the sun will come up every morning doesn't mean it will. All I'm saying is that there's a lot of things that would make money that Nintendo doesn't do. Switch VC being one of them, yet here we are with NSO's NES only policy.
It's very bold to assume Nintendo does things that make sense when they have a known history of not doing that and doing whatever the heck they want instead.
Yeah I'm definitely planning on picking up MP4 and/or the rumored MP trilogy and also should be getting Samus Returns alongside a new 3DS later this month, so I'm gonna try getting into this series. Seems right up my alley tbhAs a Metroid fan, i would suggest these games of the franchise:
>Zero Mission
>Super Metroid
>Fusion
>Prime 1
>Prime 2
>Samus Returns
>Prime 3
Prime Hunters is neat for a DS game, but i am not sure if you will enjoy it like i did.
