That pissed me off because I've gone a long time being like "he does nothing new" when he actually had that armor mechanic but they didn't showed it at all.

So, yeah, same.

It's so ****ing stupid because you can EASILY sell people on that kind of character. Sure, he doesn't feel fun to play imo but still, a character trailer with gameplay should tell us how they work. Ridley looked pretty nuts with his stage control and beefy looking moves and what do you know, his damage output it pretty great! Belmonts showed off that their range was ludicrous and what do you know, people use them as zoners! K.Rool? "HE HAS SPECIAL MOVES OMGGGGGG"

I kinda feel bad for supporting Geno sometimes, because of all the hate he gets. I can't even mention Geno in a comment on YouTube that people start attacking me and calling me a salty toxic person, despite me only saying "I would like it if Geno got in". I'm starting to believe that Geno only gets this much hate because he's the easiest target to pick on, since he's the most unlikely, so people think it's safe to assume he'll never get in. The fact that Sora is another popular pick may have something to do with it too.

PS: I don't have anything against Sora. I never played KH but he seems like a cool character. Just saying in case someone starts assuming stuff.

I think that out of all characters that got hype in leak-season, he's the least well known/currently relevant, so people who get salty over characters they don't know getting in over their picks saw him as an easy target and him being deconfirmed made them feel better about themselves so they caputalise on that salt.

Because a lot of Geno supporters have become annoying ********.

Just because a few people are being obnoxious doesn't mean that the entire Geno fan base should be considered toxic or harassed.

All fan bases have immature or rude people (see the Ridley and K. Rool meltdowns of Smash 4), but you really shouldn't let a small handful of people represent the entire group.

That's generally what happens when a character is popular; the same sort of thing happened with Ridley (who was bashed for being too big to make it into Smash Bros.) and K. Rool (who many claimed to be "too irrelevant" to be included), and look at how that turned out.

Also, a general rule for using the internet: ignore Youtube comments.

We’re talking about Geno?

I’ll admit, I used to be against him and disliked the idea of him in Smash because he’s an obscure side character from a spin-off game and I felt his entire Smash support came from the bandwagoning in Brawl.

But it wasn’t really fair of me to use the one-shot arguments since we already have several niche characters who’ve only been in 1 game.

The Grinch era was where I actually started to warm up him in the Smash community because at the time where I thought the leak was real, I genuinely felt that Geno was finally gonna get in out of pure popularity and passion by Sakurai for those long-time Brawl supporters so I pretty much accepted that no matter how obscure or recurring they are, anyone can be in Smash as long they’re highly requested, so I kinda bandwagoned on Geno but now I’m genuinely cool with him getting in.

Plus, he does have a cool design.

It’s extremely easy for any popular request to become a hated target because of how large their outcry is, it’ll annoy people who don’t see what the big deal is about that specific character and will come up with reasons why they’ll never happen.

It happened to & over the years, it sure as hell will happen to Geno/Waluigi/Isaac/whoever etc.

Its not like I WANT it to be true, but it makes so much sense if it is.

What seals it still for me is

Look at ALL OF THE MARIO GAMES and spin offs.

Out of all of them the only two things that even relate to this boy are a baby version and Petey both of which could be counted as totally different entities from what is considered to be a classic/ and or a variant.

I have to agree I only got two Nintendo characters in mind that just aren't included in Ultimate at all then again like with 'Let's go', Sylux and Porky spirits could just be added as promotional material. There absence is weird but doesn't amount to a whole lot.

I think everyone who is DLC will be absoluty new to the series.

Jpegs aren't going to stop development but like its always been, talks of who's in and who's not have happened months in advance.
