Those games are good, but their villains are...serviceable. Bringing back King K would not only complete these already great games, but it'd be a moment of triumph for all the 90s kids.

Hopefully. I think K. Rool fans have made a big enough deal outta him that Nintendo has to take notice and the outcry since Returns for the Kremlings to, well, return has always been present even in praise with Tropical Freeze.

I also hope it isn't being made by Retro. They need to move on to something greater. So, let's talk about Monster Games. These guys are one of the most underrated Nintendo developers out there. Like, seriously. They handled the DKCR3D port and added those 7 new levels to the 8th world. And you know what? Those are probably the most creative levels in the whole game. If that's a sign of what they can do with DKC, I want to see them do it.

I will definitely take another Retro DKC game though. No questions asked. But when they do decide to move on from DKC, I hope Monster picks it up.

Dunno about you, but I enjoyed fighting the Snomads, and this is coming from a boomer who grew up with the original trilogy.

Personally, I think the villains in the Returns games have much better designs. Even K. Rool's creator says he **** out the design in 10 minutes.

I guess there's no fighting nostalgia...

All this Wario love would have gotten 2014 me to be the happiest Smash player ever.

Aw heck, 2019 me is loving this as well. Wario's always gonna be number #1 in my book, and it seems Sakurai has finally realized who the best Nintendo character is when balancing this game.

Now give this thicc lad a new game, Nintendo.

K. Rool the Conqueror, here to reclaim his throne as the Kong’s true nemesis.

Storm clouds the size of continents. Flying wooden battleships with laser cannons and Kremlings flying in on jet packs. A crown shaped tower gliding across the ocean and slowly rising up shaping the storm clouds around it into an effigy of K. Rool’s face, lightning generated in his left eye, charging towards DK Island ready to swallow the island whole.

...At least all that comes to mind whenever I hear this song:

Uh...Well, can't say I agree with a lot of this, but I'm not a tourney player, so what do I know, lol.

-Ridley's been getting pretty good results, with some like his second placing at the European major Gluttony won and Trela's 1st placing in Texas being among his most notable. As a result a lot of players have started reassessing the character and have had him slowly climb up their tier lists, though how much depends on who you ask.
-Isabelle and K. Rool as mentioned before are the opposite, they had high hopes on them to begin with, but they haven't had any notable placings yet and their 'OP' options have been adapted to so a lot of people have written them off and they plummeted as a result. They may bounce back up once we start seeing more players of them come into major tournaments and prove there's more to them, but for now they've been stuck as the game's "Skill Gate Characters".

They're just really annoying to me for how they abuse the float mechanic.

This looks a lot more convincing than the previous one. Agreed, there are some weird placements but I can get most of the placements.

Also, it's interesting to see Lucina higher than Marth after people called her a worse Marth for so long.

That's actually one I don't agree with. He isn't great but bottom tier seems like a stretch. His air game still sucks but at least his recovery is a bit better and one of his biggest strengths is that his run up F-Smash attacks are safe on shield. It pushes them back far enough that most characters won't have the grab range and Mac recovers fast enough from it to dodge or f tilt out of it. Low-Mid is what I'd say but eh, we'll see.

In Smash 4 I'd argue she was. In Ultimate, the engine changes and general pace of the game favor her consistency over the tippers. That is, of course, subject to change as the meta develops and whether or not they give Marth back his jab into tipper forward smash.

Mac actually has a debatably stunted recovery growth from 4 to Ultimate.

While now he can use haymaker without going in freefall, he can't use it again at any point after that while airborne, even when hit. That is a major nerf, and I sometimes wonder if it's an unfixed bug at times because it sounds like a really odd decision to make.

It is worth noting that a lot of the tier lists they used for this are outdated, there are even still ones from pre-release included in this. I think it'd look very different if the same people updated their tier lists for this.
