The Phrase "Yusha" in the context of video games has more or less been absorbed into refering to Dragon Quest-type heroes or "Hero going on a quest to defeat a demon lord"

If you want Hero to mean something lik a super hero, "正義の味方" is what you'd use, which is "Ally of Justice"

It also helps that iirc, other games in the series have different terms for their protagonist often, notably DQ11 being the Luminary.

Sakurai is forced to pick from a list, but he ultimately has the decision of who to pick form that list. Unless the list size is like, y'know, a perfect 5.
