I feel like Resident Evil is underestimated as far as characters.

I have a weird feeling it could very well be a DLC pack. Leon, Raccoon City...just not sure about the music.

RE is a good franchise for Smash.

I hope that we get a rep from it in the future.

With enough practice, you can do it.

I am having a good time fighting them in Ultimate thanks to that.

If Crash Bandicoot got in voiced by his current actor, we would technically have Super Skrull and Skid McMarx (Ratchet & Clank 2016) in Smash.

But Capcom has marketed the hell out of Leon for two decades. Chris and Jill, as I outlined before, were chosen for their major crossover due to timing and circumstance, and likely the fact that both of them are tied to the series's main villain, and each other. Leon is more of a loner. They use all their characters individually, but unlike Chris, Leon's never played second fiddle on his own box art. Any time he's in a game, he's front and center in the promotional art.

We're simply going to have to agree to disagree. Chris and Leon have starred together in one game and one movie. In both of those instances, Leon was the lead, Chris was the backup. Jill hasn't been featured in a game since the 3DS's launch year, while Leon has starred in three movies and two games, including Capcom's expected biggest selling title of 2019.

Again, I prefer Chris and Jill, but RE is a unique franchise in that they have interchangeable lead characters, and when it came to crossover titles, Chris and Jill benefited from having a more concrete villain, timing and their affiliation with each other. They aren't necessarily more the face of the franchise or more suited to crossovers by any metric. They just happen to be the beneficiaries of multiple conveniences. If anything, this helps Leon's chances as he would be just as recognizable but new and immediately more relevant with RE2 Remake's impending release and recent movie appearances.

If any RE protagonist gets into Smash, I want Jill. But I would bet money on Leon.

EDIT: Also, when did Chris get RE6/RE7 costume DLC in MvCi? To my knowledge all he got was the RE1 Classic DLC. Which was also recycled content from MvC3.

Oh, I finally got the Mew Spirit!

Yeah, I cheated and did it on easy mode. Don't care; I cleared my board finally, so that's one less thing. Speaking of which, based on the Prima guide, the Online board was added after release, so I'm hoping we'll get more challenges later on just to get more SP rewards.

With Taunt canceling being a thing, I disagree, honestly.

I have played so much Gears of War that I've become immune to teabagging.

It's become, "Oh, that's cute. You haven't graduated high school yet."

Oh, teabagging is still very much a thing. I get it in Gears, Overwatch, SFV, R6 Seige for that one week I tried it and got absolutely demolished and kicked out of three games by my own team...

I know the inventory system is a major component of the series, I’m just not exactly sure how it would translate into a platform fighter.

Yes...but people weren’t as respectful to wait back then as they are now

They think Pichu is the worst character and Pikachu is the best. There's a 73 character gap between a character and their clone.

I saw this on r/Persona5 and it's so great. These are the interactions I want in Smash Ultimate. Here's to hoping Joker gets Codecs with Futaba and the Phantom Thieves. It likely won't happen, but a guy can dream.
