SE: Too many rumors. I think it's happening.
Sega: Already happened, but I thought they were due for another rep
Bamco: Think they are due for another rep and I don't think it'll be Heihachi
Microsoft: Rare Files make me think something is there. It's my biggest risk in terms of predictions, imo. I also don't want either of them.
Wild Card: Things are just too unpredictable. Can't predict everything. So this is just where my "Never see it coming" picks fell.

Why I do feel like Edrick is the Incineroar of DLC?

-There’s multiple leaks/rumors about him.
-Seen as a boring/safe pick by some fans.

I'm not very familiar with Dragon Quest. The extent of my RPGs gameplay is Fire Emblem: Awakening and Paper Mario, but if Edrick can bring an interesting and unique move set, then I can't justifiably be disappointed.

1. Slime or Erdrick (Dragon Quest) A huge phenomenon in Japan that even has it's own urban legend surrounding it
2. Steve (Minecraft) Minecraft is the second best selling game of all time, only behind Tetris and was huge in both the West, and Japan. Even Sakurai's seems to be a big fan
3. Gen 8 Pokemon (Pokemon Switch 2019) I feel like we're gonna have a Corrin situation, once again. Aka, a promotional Nintendo character... Pokemon 2019 seems to be a viable candidate, assuming they don't want to repeat, and have it be an FE character (Though, I'd still be fine with that). Besides, Pokemon is big enough, that it'd be fine for it to have another rep. We're talking about the biggest media franchise in the world.
4. Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) One of the few missing third party NES all stars, and could be a good rep for Koei Tecmo, A third party company that's had good relations with Nintendo (Ninja Gaiden, Hyrule and Fire Emblem Warriors, Fatal Frame, etc.)

I hope that's the case, because like Incineroar, most people will take a 180 after his reveal, and will grow to like him/her...

Three Mario Party inspired ones - a Gold Mushroom, a dice block, and four characters on a raft. They'll be available for a few days as part of a spirit board event, though I could see that event being repeated later.

So what are everyone's predictions who the final 4 DLC characters might be and reasons why?

I don't think I could even attempt an accurate prediction. I figure that, out of the four characters remaining, most of them will be third party (it depends on whether spirits confirm that characters won't be DLC, though most of Smash 4's DLC newcomers were third party).

I feel like a Namco-Bandai character is likely (they're developing the game, and they're one of the few third party companies with only one character), but I'm not sure who. There's too many variables - sure, Tekken's their big fighting game franchise, but who would be included? Does KOS-MOS's inclusion in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 boost her chances? Was Pokemon vs. Digimon as big of a thing in Japan as it was in North America?

A Square-Enix character also seems like a strong possibility, but who? Geno? Someone from Dragon Quest? 2B? Crono? Lara Croft? Adam Jensen? Another Final Fantasy character? The options seem endless.

I could see us getting a brand new third party company in Smash as a shocker reveal, like Cloud in Smash 4, but again, I have no idea who that could be. Bethesda was in talks with Nintendo about Smash, but that could mean pretty much anything. Banjo and Kazooie are a popular choice, but would Microsoft cooperate as much with Smash as they have with cross-play? What about indie studios? Even if we assume that Shantae and Shovel Knight are ruled out, there's still a lot of options like Quote from Cave Story, Meat Boy or Isaac, or Sans.

As for first party characters, I have no idea, especially if Spirits rule out characters for DLC. They'd have to be from a new series, or a particular game that's big enough to get its own stage and music, and if we rule out characters like Bandanna Dee, Wonder Red, and Elma for being Spirits, or any ARMS characters due to Spring Man being an assist trophy, I can't think of any that would fit. Maybe they'd want to promote an upcoming title, like what they did with Corrin, or maybe Porky's conspicuous absence from the Mother/Earthbound content in this game is building up to him being playable.

I could sort them into those four broad categories (Namco-Bandai character, Square-Enix character, new third party company, new first party character), but beyond that, I don't think I could guess specific characters - most of my attempts at guessing about Smash games have been way off the mark.

In all honestly if that was who we were getting. Ryu Hayabusa would definitely make up for Banjo and Sylux not making the cut.

Ah, okay, that would explain it.

That's a shame. D-Throw > Nair was one of my most favorite things to do with Lucas. Honestly, I'm not sure if I like him too much in Ultimate, he feels really off. He was in my top 5 back in the Smash 4 days, but here...yeah, I'm not too sure. Probably gonna pass and play other characters.

At least Mewtwo still feels great. He was another favorite of mine back on Smash 4, and he feels awesome! I can even still play him the way I used to: Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Neutral-B, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, Nair, and uh...oh, yeah, Nair!

Hey, he's at least got it better now than back in Melee.

He also has Dair, which is still a terrifying move despite the fact it can't break shield anymore. He's also one of the most fluid and fun characters to play in this game, so IMO Yoshi's got it pretty good this go around!

FSM (Frame Speed Modifier) was applied to frame 12 and 14, which means that frame 12's animation was slowed down a little bit while frame 14's animation was sped up a little, which overall counteracted the 13th frame, which works very well with the improved hitbox. It also made the move just a tiny bit quicker (less startup and reduced FAF).

Oh but that's what makes it fun!

I love going back 3 or 4 months and seeing how wrong we were.

Also if anyone's curious here's my predictions as to the pass post-Joker reveal:

Joker
Luminary/Erdrick (leaning a lot more towards Luminary with an Erdrick skin)
Solaire (And an Artorias Mii Costume)
Banjo Kazooie
Wildcard spot: Dante

For wildcard I can also see Crash or a Resident Evil character.

Microsoft is also up in the air too, as I can see good arguments for both Steve and Master Chief. I think Banjo will win out though.

But like I said, fully prepared to be wrong on most of these. Smash speculation (especially DLC) is a fickle beast.

Huh I listened to that statement again and you got a point. Looks like I'm adding the bandicoot to my prediction list then.

If we manage to get Banjo and Crash. Crash would be icing on cake for me but if Banjo doesn't get in Crash will make up for it as an alternative.
