Mixup your recovery whenever you can. You go for the same recovery option every single time and you'll get read like a book.

Basically just upB/sideB at different times of you can.

Lifelight is pretty solid. Not great, but I think it fits the intro footage they have and the feel of the adventure mode. The game itself? Eeeeh, not so much but I'm giving it a pass for one reason:

They. actually. tried. with. the. intro.

It actually flows well with the song, they had to record new footage in-engine, and make it all work in a timely manner. Smash 4 and Brawl was clearly a rushed quick job. Here? They tried, and I think it is a great intro for "Everyone is Here!"

Especially Smash 4...it starts with the most random footage ever. Ultimate starts with Mario. That's how it should be.

I'm still wondering how they pulled off the "two trainers summoning three pokemon at the same time" bit.

he doesn't seem unplayable at all? it seems more like the glitches are more accidental discoveries than things that come up frequently, since i've never found any of them while playing as him

and i'm willing to bet that the new update probably fixed some of them

Duck Hunt has always kind of been a difficult character to play, but being difficult to play doesn't necessarily equate to being bad. There's a reason opinions were torn so much on him in 4. You have to really know what you're doing with him in order to get any mileage out of him.

Nothing to do with the game's quality. The lyrics are for World of Light, not the overall experience of Smash.

But yes Ultimate does have faults, like any other game. Definitely an improvement on Smash 4, however.

I personally think Japanese version sounds a lot better, which is unsurprising, it's hard to localize songs.

1. duck hunt generally feels fine to me? granted i never played as him a lot in either game, but i did really well in classic with him

2. there's 74 characters and duck hunt is still one of the hardest characters to learn, of course not a lot of people are playing as him

It's a whole different game, give yourself some time. Also I never saw anyone saying they're unplayable (also I hate that term). If they don't play as them, how they know they are "unplayable"?

duck hunt is a character you have to really like playing as to stick with

The lack of online taunts sucks for them, though. This is why you should use Dedede.

He's not unplayable, but you don't feel like you're progressing with him. In the time it took me to figure out his basic mechanics this game, I got good at juggling with Ridley and using the dragon's godawful dair

I'm well aware of "progression". I know about understanding character weaknesses, such as how characters like Little Mac and Simon/Richter have awful aerial recoveries, yet I have managed to begin working out those kinks and have developed working out means to avoid getting into unfavorable situations, but I still stand by Duck Hunt being "unplayable" because there's rarely any situation that favors Duck Hunt.
