Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Final Smash being her dancing on a Dominos box while ex-Dominos of Japan president tries his hardest to act like he has any interest at all about what's going on right now.
That would require us flying out to Japan to harass Dominos HQ

and we gotta make sure we send ****-pics to underage girls first to make more drama around ourselves andd-- ****, Nick Robinson jokes are too creepy to make funny

Come on guys, Erdick's moveset would OBVIOUSLY be consisting of denying war crimes and saying "Only straight Japanese people are allowed to exist"
jesus christ, do you ever talk about DQ without talking about the composer when that isnt who we were even talking about?

Erdrick is to JRPGs what Ryu is to fighting games and Mario is to platformers. His design could be remade/imagined and you could take several liberties with his character in terms of his moveset. Erdrick being in as a represenative for the JRPG genre as a whole makes a lot more sense historically too.
[Insert DQ Composer joke here]

So pic time...

So we finished setting up the Christmas tree at my parents house...

But hang on. One of those seems oddly specific...

Hehehe, ain't I a stinkah? :yoshi:
You know, it's weird how some people only set-up Christmas decorations, like, a week before Christmas.

Is that like an American thing, or what?

Where I live, you're "meant" to have your decorations up by the 7th, give or take.
(Granted, my family have only managed to get the window decorations and the tree up, which is the most basic stuff for us, simply because my parents don't have the time this year, due to family issues)

I don't know if "American culture" has anything to do with it, but for me and my family, it's an issue of time, money and health...

I want Miku in Smash in spite of "no anime characters!!!!" people.

SF did a crossover with Granblue as well?
Yep. With Sakura Wars, Tales of, Cardcaptor Sakura, Detective Conan and Attack on Titan too, as well.

Sorry, the joke wasn't clear enough :p.. my bad X)
I guess for being somewhat new, I skipped taking the icons into account. I don't know why, I didn't even bother.. I considered them decorative brackets.
Yeah, go figure.

I know the feeling, we've barely started on our decorations, simply because of, as I said, family issues outside of our control.

That being said...

Whenever I see the Christmas Specials of adult cartoons (i.e. The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad) they always seem to be putting up their decorations on Christmas Eve.

Which might be, you know, just the writers making a subtle statement about how lazy the families are, but as British people, we have no frame of reference to compare it to.

Anyway, this is what our tree usually looks like, I took this photo in 2014, but it's consistent with what we usually do.

For starters, none of the baubles are on the tree yet.

We don't do any outdoor decorations, though there are people on other streets who do.

It sounds like a huge pain to set-up (though admittedly it does often look nice).

Almost all the decorations you see in my tree was around when I was a baby (with the exception of the Yoshi one of course :yoshi:)

That's basically what the tree looked like all my life...

Yes.

Why bother putting up decorations if you're just going to take them down a week later?
Sorry, I have two cats, so having destroyable things in the house for a long time is a foreign concept to me.

Some of those decorations on that tree I posted are older than I am.

I think one of them was made by me (as a child), though I don't think it's visible in the photo.

As a fun aside, one of our decorations that we (usually) put up in the hall (up the side of the stairs) is a gold banner that reads: "MERRY CHRISTSAS", it's about as old as me and pretty threadbare, my Dad got it from his first workplace, I think.

There was also one that read "AHRISTMAS AHRISTMAS" (or something) but my Dad didn't get that one, he forever regretted it.

My family has almost always had two cats (this is the first year in a long time where we've only had one).

They tend to leave everything alone. Though it helps that we don't put a lot of "cat-destructable" stuff on their level.

yeah, we dont do outdoor decorating either. Christmas decorating has became such a pain in the ass. putting garlend on the wall, setting. up a train, putting up the tree, putting the lights and candy canes, which we eat all off before christmas anyway, on the tree

thankfully, Dad only did the tree, and lights and candy canes which we have already started eating off the tree. Worst part is all the stuff goes into the attic which is in MY Room. Another reason to hate decorating every season

The only places that get decorated in this house are the Living Room, the Dining Room and the Downstairs Hallway.

Basically, anywhere that people who come into the house can see.
All this Christmas decorating talk.

TFW i've never had a Christmas so I can't relate.

Exactly. My parents and I were debating on whether or not to put decorations this year.

We decided against it because as soon as I get home from college, we literally have like... 3 days until Christmas.

...And all of us are kinda lazy, so we all agreed just not to do it.

I hope that one day, Square Enix will stop being so stingy and allow Geno to appear in more games or just give him back to Nintendo. It doesn't make any sense for him to be a third party character anymore.
