This is why I kinda wanted the Grinch Leak to be real, and I think really virtually everyone else would've too. This year really hit the ****ter with so much bogus crap, like maybe for ONE MOMENT, we all could gather around and have peace.

Nah, Banjo and Geno fans get the Waluigi treatment and November Direct turns into the worst "Direct" by far. Here's hoping that 2019 actually starts off good with us getting Kingdom Hearts 3 and the usual January Direct.

Banjo wasn't deconfirmed and Geno was possibly maybe perhaps deconfirmed, and that's assuming spirits deconfirm fighters.
Unless you're talking about their fans, in which case Banjo's fans still have a good reputation. Geno's fans however, not so much.

Depends on how soon they release and how often. I mean, the characters are being developed simultaneously right? Maybe in small batches. So it makes sense for multiple characters to be revealed and released close to each other. I honestly expect something closer to the Corrin/Cloud/Bayonetta Direct. Reveal. Gameplay. Gameplay for previously revealed character. Reveal. Gameplay? Iffy on that last one. Depends who it is. I don’t think a character like Crash or Banjo would even need their gameplay explained. But Erdrick and Yuri probably do.

The direct and Grinch being fake were fine imo, although I was hoping that Grinch Leak and Incineroar could both somehow be real.

The rude treatment of specific character fandoms is really unfair though.

It hasn't even been a month and I haven't felt the "push" to play Smash Ultimate as I did with Okami HD, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 or even Enter The Gungeon.
I love the game, don't get me wrong, maybe it's just the fact that I'm re-experiencing all Smash history coming into one and not having any "new" experiences.

I still hope dlc has one of the characters on the leak, probably Banjo is the most likely. Everyone else can be a big modern pick, just throw the old hermits on Smashboards a bone.

I'm not even referring to Smash, actually.

There's literalpy nothing to the playable character. Like, nada. No default appearamce, no personality and not even a name.
As others have said, Dark Souls is a very different game than the other third parties and you can still represent the gameplay of Dark Souls perfectly even if you choose an NPC.

Each Dark Souls character has both a unique in-game title and a default appearance that's used in all the marketing and merchandise. They're no different from any other avatar character, in that respect.

The direct and Grinch being fake were fine imo, although I was hoping that Grinch Leak and Incineroar could both somehow be real.

Never had a false leak gotten me so hyped for Mach Rider ever, and I didn't believe it anyway. Kinda sucks, as Sakurai did at one point consider adding him to Melee, yet things didn't go through.

We are NOT getting a Gen 8 Pokemon as DLC. If there's a second season, maybe we will, but this fighter pass? It's way too early for that. Even if Gen 8 gets revealed at E3, I seriously doubt it.

With only 5(6 with Plant) characters, and the end date being Feb2020, they have to stretch it out.



Though, that one, missing stage will always be a huge flag of doubt to me that 6 is all that we're getting. Another ballot I feel is very likely, and if not that, a surprise 6th character bundle.

I think it's less "spirits deconfirm" and more that there's a Zen diagram where "DLC picks", "characters in game" and "characters who are spirits" are all separate circles.

• DLC picks are going to be left-field, third-party, etc so there's no reason for them to have a Spirit in the first place. The third party content from franchises that aren't explicitly playable is very low. Only Rabbids, Shantae and Shovel Knight have Spirits, Rathalos is a boss, and there isn't content for SMT/Devil May Cry/etc in the base game at all.
• First party picks were all in the base game, and they added characters not playable in the base game as Spirits. Note that Pirahna Plant is 99% done but wasn't ready in time for the game's launch and as a result there are no Spirits of it. His inclusion was decided closer to the base game. Combined with the above, almost all Spirits are first and second party content, with playable third parties receiving a lot of spirits as well.

If we see spirits as DLC picks it'll be in the second season of DLC at the earliest.

Oh no, I did. I actually liked it quite a bit. The endgame? Way better than Subspace Emissary and was one of the most unreal experiences I've ever had with a video game.

I didn't like however encountering the last spirit I had to fight in my playthrough, which so happened to be Mythra.

Now look, I'm more of a Pyra guy, but even if I have a dismissive love/hate relationship for her, I still feel content and like her. Coming across her as the last Spirit really only opened up closed wounds.

This was pretty much me at that point.

Now look, I'm more of a Pyra guy, but even if I have a dismissive love/hate relationship for her, I still feel content and like her. Coming across her as the last Spirit really only opened up closed wounds.

Master Chief is the only character at this point that would get me personally excited. I wouldn't really care one way or the other who else gets added.

it could be worse, there's a chance you could have gotten claus and hinawa as your final spirit fights

Every time I encounter a Spirit who was a highly speculated character, I give them a little moment of silence.

To be fair, certain interpretations of comments and factors such as fighter spirits being markedly different from regular spirits lends some credence to the idea of Spirits being disconfirmations. It's not as ridiculous as chair or background theory.

That being said, I'm of the mind that characters who are Spirits have other reasons against their inclusion, and not the fact that they're one out of thousands of .png files in the game.

I think we could get our next character reveal as early as the 21st (22nd in Japan). Dragon Quest XI S has a panel at Jump Festa 2019 with a "special guest" that likely isn't Toriyama. Sakurai with an Erdrick reveal trailer is a distinct possibility.

Seeing the Mythra Spirit being censored and not Pyra surprised me after seeing a censored Pyra Spirit online (which I now guess was either fake or originally planned...?), though to be fair Mythra is very close to...you know.

this is being pedantic but technically its only over a thousand, thousands would imply there are multiple thousands of spirits when there aren't
