I love the optimism here, since I plan on going to EVO for Melee. But if history is any indicator, we could very well have both games, no games, one game, or even never see EVO again. Nintendo is just too damn fickle when it comes to their competitive history, opinions, and utter dislike of the competitive scene.

Mementos as the persona stage seems like a wikipedia write in for the Persona 5 stage. Yeah, it's important to the plot, but there's no way a company would choose that to represent the game.

Yeah, but it's one of the more recognizable places since you go there repeatedly. Personally, I'd opt for a stage that goes through the different palaces, but Mementos is more likely. We just better get that spooky, parallel subway train as a hazard!

Dunno, it's pretty iconic and one of the first dungeons you visit. Plus, it has a nice, ominous atmosphere, even if it isn't the most interesting one.

Step 1: Start the battle (preferably against a Level 1 Opponent)
Step 2: Pause the game
Step 3: Enter Camera Controls
Step 4: Hold L and press down on the D-Pad.
Step 5: Unpause the game.
Step 6: Enjoy the Smash Taunt.
Step 7: KO your opponent and earn about 40-90 Coins.

To be fair to mementos, it does change the further down you go, and the environment gets more grotesque. I don't think I'd mind it as a stage, but there are better options available.

It actually looks pretty impressive for me in P5D, as Anne's stage. I'd actually prefer one of the Palaces, but I'll reserve my judgement until I see the stage.

The only way I'd be fine with mementos is if it's on the moving train while it travels deeper and deeper into the mementos getting more and more abstract weird.

I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it's a pretty cool concept met with good art direction. On the other hand, it's red and black. Just red and black for dozens and dozens of floors. Music also doesn't help. Also, it's the only computer generated dungeon in a game that has beautiful hand-drawn dungeons.

Personally, I think it'd look fine as its own stage in Smash. It gives a good impression of "urban" and "fantasy".

It represents a part of the game that has (almost) no bearing on the actual story while equally being a grindy slog you're pretty much forced to do if you want to complete side quests and confidant rankings (unlocking helpful bonuses for dungeons and combat).

If anything, given if recent history will actually come true, I expect all of it to go to Mr. Wizard rather than Nintendo, since it seems as if he wants to get rid of Smash as a whole at EVO.

Well, you need to go there many times throughout the game, and the song for it is extremely (and likely intentionally) repetitive and monotonous. It's also randomly generated and pretty long. I don't particularly hate it, but I understand why people might.
