I really hope there's some successor to Smabura-Ken/Smash Bros. DOJO/Pic of the Day for this installment. The website they have so far for Smash Switch looks like it's definitely going to have an explosion in information at some point beyond the trailer and invitational links. I may not have been around for the Brawl DOJO, but boy was Pic of the Day a hoot to experience.

I may not have been around for the Brawl DOJO, but boy was Pic of the Day a hoot to experience.

The Brawl Dojo was absolutely amazing, the amount of information we got every day was staggering, and it also benefitted from there not being Directs back then, so there always was the chance that they'd reveal a newcomer, the "Warning Challenger Approaching" banner really got the adrenaline going. It began to get a bit **** towards the end, probably because they didn't anticipate the game's delay, and I fully understand why they cut it down to what Pic of the Day was as it must have been a ton of work, but it was special.

Why people freaked out about the lack of reveal on August 12th?

People genuinely thought Meta Knight had been deconfirmed by a Mii Costume. It was a little silly, but since Smash 3DS was getting released a month later, I guess people were starting to get anxious of unconfirmed characters getting cut.

I’m not sure why so many people are against another kid Icarus character, considering Sakurai made the last game and clearly had a lot of passion making it. Sure he created Kirby but he breathed new life into kid Icarus. And if he isn’t making a new game he should keep it alive in smash, especially with the great cast of characters he created.

Meta Knight had yet to be revealed at this point, so the Mii Costume for Meta Knight was the first glimpse of Meta Knight that we got in Smash 4. People expected Meta Knight to be revealed the next day, or at least something related to Meta Knight.

The next day, Sakurai released a picture of the Namco Special Flag, with absolutely no relation to Meta Knight, and people were really confused.

Meta Knight was revealed the next day. To quote an old comment on the matter, "The weird thing about this isn't the fact that there was a fake Meta Knight, followed by a confirmation. It's that Sakurai did the imposter picture, then something totally unrelated, and only THEN did he reveal Meta Knight."

Oh yeah, i remember now.

Funnily enough, Meta Knight was confirmed like, 2 days later in the same month. and now i remember correctly that the ESRB didn't had Full-blown coverage until August 20th (by that i mean the screenshots)

I think you're using the words "against" and "expecting" interchangeably.

Am I against Viridi or Medusa being in Smash? Not at all. Do I expect either? Not really, as Kid Icarus hasn't done anything recently. Let's wait and see what the future of the series holds before we start adding newcomers.

There's a lot of characters to fit in. Not as much as last time, but it depends if they want to focus on including lesser gem characters which is not something we've seen much of since Smash 64 & Melee. In which case, I would say Chib-Robo & Dillon are good contenders.

Does anyone else think that if the game is just a port plus, so more or less the same game but with new content, that it actually increases the chance of more new characters. It would mean the dev team would have more time to work on and balance more characters. I also think it might mean that they could have added more characters that are considered too late (Xenoblade 2 and Arms).

Does anyone else think this is likely if it's a port? I've seen a lot of people assume that if it's a port it will have minimal new content but that seems to be backwards for me. I'm actually hoping it's more of a port plus for these reasons.

Custom Robo sounds like a more Smash-applicable game imo. Ray 01 is definitely the robot I'd want in Smash.

As for me it would be:
Waluigi - I dunno why but Toad irk me to no end. Thanks Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon :D

Paper Mario - One of my most favourite series and of my most wanted newcomers

Dixie - I'm more into recent DK games, especially Tropical Freeze

Ridley - Don't care about him but I want you guys to be happy too.

Impa - Tingle is a gruesome abomination after all.

Decidueye - One word: GHOST-TYPE (or maybe does that count as two words?)

Bandana Dee - THE most wanted newcomer.

Isabelle - She seems more iconic than Nook as far as I can tell.

Twintelle - Much more interesting that Spring-Man, which is like one of the most boring people on the cast.

Medusa - What can I say, I love snakes.

Wolf - More interesting I guess.

Black Shadow - Because Goroh is ugly as sin.

Spyro - Not that I care about him more than Crash but I find him far more aesthetically pleasing.

Rabbids - Rayman and his design can burn in the fiery pits of hell where they belong. (Not that I hate his games, I never tried them but something with Rayman's design repulses me uncontrollably. Don't hate me for this D: )

Bomberman - He is cute.

Eh, I dont really agree. He has lots of moveset potential using the items he finds around the house and uses as tools. I would check out ssf2's version of him to see what I mean

She's not in the original Animal Crossing.

Before New Leaf, Tom Nook was, arguably, the second big Animal Crossing character.

Something about saying Wolf is "low priority". He felt like Wolf was not as essential of a character to add as others I believe.
I do hope Wolf comes back, we just got to see.

Isabelle debuted in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but since then she has been heavily marketed to the point where many people, myself included, believe she has a chance at the roster.
