While I like Waluigi, Toad feels like he seriously is a main member of the team. I think that puts him in a spot that's deserving in my opinion. I like the moveset concepts for Paper Mario more. K. Rool I wanted more partially due to a villain, but also cause I love him in the TV show. Ridley I was more interested in due to space dragon, and major villain, and cause he's someone I just plain like. Tingle I've always been for, though Impa is still a nice choice. Decidueye feels like a fun and interesting archer type but also has lots of flying moves/bird moves that could make for a great and unique air fighter. Incineroar is still sweet, though. Bandana Dee was always more interesting to me as is, but that's more due to seeing him more among media/LP's, etc. Albeit, the anime helps to a degree, since the Waddle Dees have spears there. Tom Nook was always interesting to me(Resetti moreso). However, one notable thing is that I don't like the idea of attacking someone as cute and helpful as Isabelle. I love her as the "helper" role. I feel her being an Assist Trophy matches who she is beyond perfectly. Spring Man is the main character, and the series doesn't interest me too much, so... go with simplicity. I've wanted Medusa in for a while. I also like the character a lot, and not just cause she's a villain. Wolf I mained in Brawl, so... Samurai Goroh feels most interesting to me as we lack a Samurai, and he's not similar to Takamaru anyway. Also one of the original 4 racers of F-Zero. Spyro cause I like dragons more. Rabbids I actually have more experience with due to watching their show a bit, and I love the fact they got a crossover with Mario. They don't bother me at all and ultimately it's just a case of bias here. Coincidentally, they also have less amiibo issues(I'm sure some remember the two mock-ups.
). Finally, Simon Belmont. I'm a fan of Captain N, but I also liked playing Castlevania more. Bomberman is still cool, though. But I want to whip some vampires. It also helps I saw the Castlevania anime some time ago, and that was awesome.
