The very tought of Crono getting into Smash is something I never even imagined possible. He is without a doubt the character above all other video game characters who I would want more than any other, but because I never even considered him feasible, I've never even thought of just how complete my life would be. xD

This is a good thing for Llyod. 8 of the 14 third party costumes are already in Ultimate in a tangible form while the remaining six are Gil (the prime definition of a Literal Who), Jacky (Virtua Fighter already has Akira), Heihachi (Sakurai said he was too complicated to make playable), Monster Hunter, Llyod, and Geno. No Mii costume = opportunity to create the real thing. Aside from Square, Namco is a lonely island right now and with Sakurai basically shooting down a Tekken rep...

I fail to see why they'd say yes to the RPG boys but no to say Lara or Crono or any number of random FF party members or even Chocobo who previously even had a Mii costume? There's nothing to lose for them when it comes to a simple picture in a game.

We don't work for either Square or Nintendo so I don't get the point in pretending like we do.

Joking aside, I've simply come to peace with the SE rep. As much as I would love Sora, or Lara Croft, or Bartz, or Terra, or Sephiroth, or Neku, or Agnes, or Geno, or Crono...it'll be Erdrick.

I don't like Dragon Quest. I don't even like its genre (JRPGs) as a whole, outside of Pokémon and some other titles like Persona. It's not popular outside of Japan, and will never truly be as popular worldwide as it is there despite any attempts to cram it down our throats. It certainly doesn't qualify as a third-party with worldwide popularity, a criteria Sakurai specified he aims for, and at best will always be second fiddle to Final Fantasy, a series that is unafraid to experiment and change with the times, compared to Dragon Quest which has largely remained stagnant over the years. These are my honest opinions on the series. I'd much rather prefer many, if not any SE character over a DQ rep. I hope it's Erdrick because his design is better than Luminary (the DQXI protagonist) with his dopey bowl-cut or the literal generic mook Slime.

I'll be very happy if proven otherwise, but for the time being I'd expect the SE rep to be a Dragon Quest character. Trust me when I say that there's a lot pointing to it.

The fact DQ is pretty much the fundation of JRPGs will carry it despite lacking Western appeal... Right?

You’re comparing that to this:

And again Knuckles has:

- A 3-hit neutral.

- A Homing Attack with a reticle exactly like Sonic.

- A Dash identical to Sonic with skidding animations.

- A Directional Air Dodge.

It would make more sense for an assist trophy that functions like a fighter to have possibly been cut than for a fighter who functions the way Isaac does is what I was getting at.

No but seriously, I meant it as low poly, not exactly Tails form 4. It's apparent that Knucks got more polys here, still on the low poly side though.
You know, that actually proves my point even further. Why give extra polys to an AT that doesn't move much like Knuckles, but not spend as much on its attacks (the thing that's actually moving). Those psychic hands look awful, they look dim and plain. Before they looked more glowy and gave the impression of a psychic attack, now they look like a sad Master Hand.
