Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Sakurai said it himself. When it was time to choose a Pokemon in Smash 4, he was basically told, "Here's who we think will be popular. Call us if you need anything." He then went home and designed Greninja's entire moveset himself without anyone micromanaging him.

TPC is weird, but it doesn't sound like they've ever been difficult to work with on Smash games.

This means nothing except that SE is clingy with Final Fantasy and so the franchise is difficult to work with.

Oooohhh... just found out that "We're the Robots (Dr. Wily Stage 2)" from Mega Man 9, is confirmed to be a track in the game...
Nice to see my favorite Mega Man game getting some love

Okay, here's an idea - an Magvelian trio that switches between Eirika, Ephraim, and Myrrh. Their Final Smash is to summon Seth who runs across the stage hurling Javelins all over the place. He's very brave and very brave.

Plot Twist: The difficult party was Nintendo. They just reeeeeeeeeeeeally didn't want Ice Climbers in. Sakurai had to allow them to pick the DLC characters to get them back.

She has a great design with good use of contrast and a distinctive silhouette. Plus she has a tome. Tomes are always nice.

I would love to hear what companies do you think were hard to work with to get their characters back besides SE. TPC and Konami? I just cant see who could be giving Sakurai a hard time to get the characters back besides those two if I had to guess.

Sega seems pretty happy to give both of their characters back and they seem to want a stable relationship with Nintendo.
Namco Bandai is working on the game and I doubt they would really say no to having Pac Man back.
Capcom even let their characters getting killed in Smash trailers and added more music on top of what we had the previous game.

Dang, so much new info is being dropped and the game isn’t even going to be out for almost two weeks now. Wish I could go into hibernation until the 7th.
