For LGPE that happened like a week in advance, so maybe around the 1st that will happen.

I grew up with the Gamecube and loved every bit of it. Just imagine.

If Lloyd or Nightmare were the Namco DLC characters, then I feel the Gamecube rep for me is complete. (I didn't grow up with Tales of Symphonia, but had to add in for Gamecube nostalgia purposes. Heck I'm wary about Lloyd being DLC(it might be either Heihachi or some other Namco character, Klonoa perhaps?)

Didn't stop data mining for Pokemon LG and Mario Tennis, though. Maybe Smash's encryption is tighter than those? Sakurai is really old-school and likes his games to be secretive, so I could see him doing that to prevent pre launch spoilers.

Yeah, Sakurai's uptight about that. If it got leaked again, he'd probably skip story mode again next game and it'd be all the leakers' faults.
Sure would've helped to prevent that on all those other games.

Nothing. Nobody said they couldn't after a long period of time. It's not if it'll happen, but when. And when it happens, we will all be running.

As others said, extremely tight encryption. I don't believe there is any way of spoofing the unlock key, so without that, everything is pretty much inaccessible.

Pre-loading games has been a thing for years, but I've never heard of people cracking them. Might just be because I haven't had an ear pointed to the places where those things happen, but it's a thought that's crossed my mind, having Ultimate sitting on my Switch, just staring at me.

Ok I have to say with this tidbit, Waluigi is arguably one of the most marginalized potential smash character by Nintendo.

I'm not even a huge Waluigi fan and I'm kind of pissed as to how much Nintendo directly goes out of their way to **** on him and his fans. How rude and insulting to his fan base.

That being said, I'm hopeful for the DLC. Not keeping track of leaks tbh because it seems no one has learned anything from the Grinch. Just enjoy the ride folks, can't trust any "sources" except the insiders like Verge.

I think that whole situation is interesting. He also got the rights to use Beware the Forest Mushrooms in the trailer, and then it never showed up in the game, and that would have been around the time the Ultimate project plan was completed.

I'm really banking on the Squaracter being either Sora or a Dragon Quest character (either Slime, or Erdrick/some other hero). Anything else would truly surprise me.

Hoping for Lara though.

Think of it this way: At least he's here at all. Plus, the devs worked really hard to give us something they hoped we'd enjoy with these AT. Yet, all we do is moan about them. I honestly feel really bad for the devs when it comes to stuff like this, and from here on out, I'm gonna look at AT in the positive light they were intended to be taken as.

Oh dear you may be right. Reggie's statement could very well mean that after Ridley and K Rool, they aren't giving a FLYING **** about a character's popularity in fan polls any more. That would explain no Isaac, no Shadow, and maybe (holy **** no) no Bandana Dee.

I really hope we can't make that leap of logic based on this statement but you may be right, in which case we're getting boring corporate picks everyone.

Even looking at the newcomers we got, we only really got confirmation that K. Rool came from the ballot. The rest hve popularity, sure, but they didn’t say they came from the ballot.

This does make it interesting to see where the DLC will come from. Also makes it seem unlikely that there’s another batch of DLC coming...

As a Waluigi supporter, I find none of what Nintendo has done insulting. Taking it that way is taking things way, way too personally and attaching too many personal feelings on a character's inclusion.

Think of it this way: At least he's here at all. Plus, the devs worked really hard to give us something they hoped we'd enjoy with these AT. Yet, all we do is moan about them. I honestly feel really bad for the devs when it comes to stuff like this, and from here on out, I'm gonna look at AT in the positive light they were intended to be taken as.

They really are trying hard with Assist Trophies this time, making them more aggressive in fights, capable of fighting one another, some being KO'd, and could potentially factor into the World of Light, but we're going to be dealing with something that will replace what shall replace the "Ridley's Too Big" argument, and I refer to it as the "Assist Trophy Glass Ceiling" argument. It's something you will be hearing a lot of from now on.
