I feel like Fire Emblem especially REALLY needs to tone down the counters for literally all but 1 character.

Like I get it, counter-attacking is a big part of FE. But that doesn't mean everyone needs one. Just leave it to Marth, and give the others something special.

They had something going with Robin but then Corrin had to waltz in being a Lord and therefore apparently demanding a counter.

Of course the problem with that is two of the FE characters are Marth Clones. Still.

I think smash has a really low and bad villain representation. Specially now that Wolf is gone. I mean, we have Bowser, Ganondorf, Wario (sort of), Junior, and if you really push it, Mewtwo.

I'd really love to see an evil swing this time around. Medusa or Hades, K. Rool, Ridley, a real Ganon, Kamek and Wolf. Half of the Newcomers as villains. A huge villain trailer would be amazing. What do you guys think?

I agree it would be good to get K. Rool, Ridley, Wolf and a Pig Ganon. Medusa/Hades I am impartial to, but Kamek I wouldn't like. I also don't think Kamek would be seen as so much of a big villain.

I merged some franchises like Arms and Xenoblade 2 because people probably just want X the franchise represented and most probably someone who votes for Twintelle would still be happy with Spring Man. This is the reason I did not merge things like Pokemons or Mario characters together, because most people voting for Y Pokemon or Z Mario Character specifically want Y or Z and don't want any other Pokemon or Mario Character.

While I know the list might get **** on for having Goku at the top, it still sort of proves which characters are on the casual Nintendo fan minds, be it through trolling, through a meme or whatever.

And I just wanted to point out that a week ago people were discussing how Golden Sun isn't remembered by anyone and it's a dead franchise. I just want to point out that it is apparently still remembered and still tops polls in terms of popularity.

Glad to see Rex and Pyra that high and they are the second most requested Nintendo character. My friends did a poll a few weeks back and Rex and Pyra came in 2nd place overall, just under Ice Climbers.

Kamek is actually the main villain of the Yoshi series. He is pretty much Bowser's dad. And his main goal is to get rid of the Mario bros before they are threats. He travels back in time a lot. He is like the terminator of the Mario series. I mean, to me he is awesome. And a huge character as well.

Man, Lucina should've just been a Marth skin. I can't believe Sakurai went "Okay. No Chrom, let's do something original instead of another swordsman", AFTER he allowed Lucina to be made into a Marth clone.

And talking about villains, in my opinion there are a lot of unlikely characters with lots of potential.

From the Mother series, Gygas and the Masked Man are awesome. The Black Knight from FE, Captain Syrup from Wario Land, Vaati from Zelda, Leon from Star Fox, Doctor Klaus, the main villain of both Xenoblades and Doctor Eggman from Sonic are all unfortunately overlooked.

Team Rocket from pokemon, whether in the form of the Boss Giovanni or the trio from the anime/pokemon yellow, is a secret dream of mine. Extremely unlikely, but could be made into an awesome fighter.

......that video clearly has a Spainard guy talking (im from Latin America, specifically Chile, and i can tell the difference between a spainard speaking spanish, and a latin american speaking spanish, wheter be mexican, chilean, argentinian, colombian, etc).

Here's an example of Spainard Spanish and Latin American Spanish (specifically from Mexico).

Spainards are to Latin Americans what the British (and Australians and/or other non-american countries where English is the main language) are to the North Americans (wheter be United States or Canada), they are not the same.

Oh and Dragon Ball is also a big deal in Spain as far as im concerned (not sure if it is as big as Latin America, but it still has a big following there) so it's completely feasible that Goku is a big deal there too (US actually jumped quite late to the DB ride, a lot of countries already watched the show from the beginning back in the 90's while US barely started watching DBZ in the early 2000's) .

Proof of this is the fact that in the poll Rosalina, Robin and Duck Hunt are named Estella, Daraen and Duo Duck Hunt (a literal translation of Duck Hunt Duo which is the EUROPEAN ENGLISH name of Duck Hunt), all of the characters in the Latin American version of SSB4 retain their American English names (expect for Zero Suit Samus and Wii Fit Trainer which are named "Samus Zero" and "Entrenador(a) de Wii Fit" in both the Latin American and Spainard versions of the game) If you don't belive me click the links that will direct you to the Latin American site of SSB4 and Spainard site of SSB4 respectively.

Mario, Luigi, Sonic, Tails running and chasing after Bowser and Bowser Jr. Sonic and Tails obviously beat the plumber bros to the edge of the cliff they've chase the two Koopas to. When from behind rises Eggman in his sweet ass ride.

Imagine the nerd fit a trailer that finally puts these 7 characters together. It'd be another one of those iconic images in gaming that only Smash Brothers is capable of pulling off.

Plasm Wraith could be a neat addition. Aside from being a villain, the fact it has an indefinite body could make it a very unique addition to the roster. It could use elemental attacks as well.

As my signature suggests, I’m a very big fan of villains. Ridley, K. Rool, and Classic Ganon are some of my most wanted characters for this game.

Porky in his Earthbound mech and a Kirby villain would also be amazing. My ideal choices for the latter could be Dark Matter or Marx. I’d also be kinda down with Haltmann or the penultimate boss of Star Allies (is saying his name a spoiler?), but having a modern one-game villain over one of the fan-favorites would be weird.

Also how the hell would Andross be playable?

In Fire Emblem's defense, the reason that Roy and Lucina have counters is because they're both based off Marth.

That's not to say that they wouldn't have counters if they had completely original movesets, but it's still something to keep in mind.

In terms of wholly unique Fire Emblem characters, Marth, Ike, and Corrin have them. In Marth's case, he's had one from the start, and is the series mascot, so it makes sense for him to have one. And for Corrin, his counter is unique in the way it hits, so it can at least be said that it's not just another generic counter.

With that logic, all you have left is Ike. With Ike, they could give him his Ragnell sword beam for a Neutral B, and have Eruption be Down B.

But as for the others, I'd say their counters can be justified.

In the case of Lucina, assuming this is in fact a new Smash game, I doubt we'll be seeing her return, so we might not have to worry about her still being there to add fuel to the counter fire.

I say this as someone who mains Lucina in Smash 4. I'd like for her to return, but I don't really see it happening unless they're left with extra development time again, or if this is a Deluxe port.

In terms of returning characters with counters, disregarding the possibility of a given character not returning, I'd say that characters that should keep the counters they currently have for the most part, but the ones that are too samey to others should be the first under consideration to be changed. Those being Palutena's, Ike's, Roy's, and Lucina's (Assuming she wouldn't be a clone upon returning).

The reason I didn't mention Mii Swordfighter is because customization is a big part of the Miis' character, and would actually take away from the character to remove their counter, even though it is probably the most generic counter of all.

This is all just opinions, hypothetical comments, theories, and speculation though. I'm not saying that this is absolutely what should happen.

What annoys me about counters are how bland they usually are.

Most counters all feel pretty much the same with the exception of three, being Shulk's, Corrin's, and Bayonetta's. Even then, Shulk's and Corrin's counters are just more flashy than the rest, while still being functionally the same. Bayonetta's counter was definitely a unique spin on counters, I'll admit, but it didn't help that it's disgustingly broken.

So much more can be done to differentiate them with the rest, you just have to get creative. Hopefully some of the existing counters will be changed up to be more unique, or just be replaced/removed.

Counters as a whole are an awful/awful comeback mechanic that's been very poorly implemented, and leads to a lot of very unfair deaths in laggy online. It's so easy to do one, people just spam the **** out of them wuth little room for punishment.

Counters in other fighting games are either universal parries, that require precice and risky timing, and are very punishable, OR they're relegated to just one character is built around that mechanic as a gimmick.

Not only that, but they're given difficult inputs for the sake of balance, as it should take genuine skill to read an opponent, and successfully land a counter. Rather than be something you can throw out 30+ times in a match, and get lucky enough to get some resets and kills with it.

Counters in Smash need some serious changes, starting off with the fact that a counter should NEVER net you a KO unless used off-stage. 2nd, they should be distributed among a much smaller portion of the cast, or better yet, given to one or two select character as part of their unique toolkit and playstyle. This is another reason why I want a reboot. I'd rather have ONE character BUILT around the idea of a counter mechanic with a glass cannon/comeback playstyle, than have counters be lazily distributed among 1/3 of the roster, and be annoyed at having to play overly defensive games online cause everyone is just gonna abuse them.

I swear, the design and balance in Smash Bros is totally topsy-turvy, not that I agree with the people that argue "Smash isn't a fighting game" but I definitely see where they're coming from, as it certainly isn't designed with the same mindset.

Marx is something I could actually see happening.

If Star Allies came out and the Marx update happened sooner I’d agree, but I doubt Sakurai knew that Marx would be reintroduced into a new Kirby game when he made the roster.

However, I’m hopeful that the reception to his inclusion as a Dream Friend will show both HAL and Sakurai that there’s still a big fan base for the little guy, and maybe he’d have a shot at being DLC.

I kinda doubt it though, especially since Sakurai has said he doesn’t like overrepresenting Kirby, and Bandana Waddle Dee still kinda has to be added before any one-time villains, no matter how popular.

But, Marx is still Sakurai’s own creation, and he’s shown bias towards his own Kirby content specifically, so maybe that’ll help him.

Adding villains for the sake of it isn't a great idea. And am just about one of the most loyal K.Rool supporters here.

K.Rool and Wolf returning would already be fine. Assuming anything else stays. Ganon is also a great option but not a likely one.

Ridley? You saw yesterday's April Fools special right? That's just about what Ridley's chances of inclusion is about.

Give Andross a body and large metallic gloves with thrusters.

Kamek is the only villain I desperately want. I love his design. His long sleeves and glasses. He's one of my favorite villains in video games.

It'd be really cool to have him riding a broom accompanied by a swarm of Toadies. I love the Toadies. And it's beneficial as these are the two things that differentiate Kamek from the other Magikoopas.

A villains discussion? I'm just in time. Mimikyu, I'm grateful is my most wanted newcomer that, leans more towards a villain

Kamek is actually the main villain of the Yoshi series. He is pretty much Bowser's dad. And his main goal is to get rid of the Mario bros before they are threats. He travels back in time a lot. He is like the terminator of the Mario series. I mean, to me he is awesome. And a huge character as well.

Kamek is pretty great. Haha I was always fascinated by how he cooperates, allowing him self to be trumped by Baby Bowser.

Kamek has debt, seriously.

I would say Porky since that covers most of MOTHER.

Giygas is more fascinating to me now more than Pokey. There's something about Giygas you can never pinpoint but its there. Giygas has a deeper debt. Porky is just easier to implant into Smash.

What music remixes do you want in the next Smash?

A lot of games have new music potential...

There are a lot of remixes that I'd like, but I'm going to just pick a few so this post isn't super long, haha (links are to the original songs).

• Dosukoi Koi Koi (Style Savvy/New Style Boutique: Styling Star)
• Girls be Ambitious (Style Savvy/New Style Boutique: Styling Star) or the English version
  
• All for One (Style Savvy/New Style Boutique: Styling Star), a remix of a remix, haha.
• Champion Iris Theme (Pokémon Black 2/White 2), I know it's a long shot for Smash at this point, but this theme is so good...
• Kahuna Theme (Pokémon Sun/Moon), I really like how this theme starts out super silly and then becomes more playful.
• Calamari Inkantation (Splatoon), I think it's pretty much a given at this point, a remix with I am Octavio could be cool too.
• Ink Me Up (Splatoon)
  
• Ebb & Flow (Splatoon 2), there are too many good Splatoon songs...
  
• Something from Tropical Freeze, that ost was kind of amazing and I'd be happy with remixes of basically anything in it. Maybe Wing Ding or Grassland Groove?
