Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Dovahkiin:

+ Bethesda and Nintendo have developed a close relationship
+ Skyrim was the second game shown off for the Switch, behind only Zelda BotW
+ Skyrim was the first western game to achieve a 40/40 in Famitsu, showing it is well known in Japan
+ The active mod community allows it to still be relevant
+ The outfit is recognizable enough that the helmet alone references the entire game. Not to mention the memetic lines that saturated the internet for a while.
+ Dragon shouts give unique special move potential

- Skyrim’s coming up on its 7th birthday
- Doom has a larger fan following and also is getting a new Switch game, while Skyrim’s Switch port was poorly timed fo Smash.
- Generic avatar character
- Eew, humanoid swordsman
- Smash still has yet to put in a western third party.

Tails:

+ One of the best known player 2 side characters behind Luigi in video games.
+ Continually referenced as ‘Sonic’s BFF’
+ EGM hoax from 2002 still resonates.
+ Got a Mii costume last round.

- Shadow’s way more popular in the Sonic fandom. Tails is really just ‘that one guy’
- Has been seen as a spirit.
- Does not match Sonic’s proportions so would be a tough echo, but not different enough for a fully unique kit.

But if you're some type of elitist at least be considerate if they wish to suffer a long, grueling death of waiting for episodes.

Not related to Smash, but FFXV just got ALL OF ITS UPCOMING DLC canceled.

Big fat F for what could've been an amazing game

Not everyone has sufficient free time to read a manga that's got over 20 real-time years worth of story to go through, even though they want to.

Not spoiling parts of a series is just being courteous to those who haven't yet gotten around to looking into it.

Just when I thought I'd have nothing to do until Smash dropped, Kirby Star Allies Wave 3 is dropping a week before it, with the previously leaked characters plus a new mode with EX bosses. Star Allies was pretty underwhelming on release, but it's shaping up into one of my favorite Kirby games.

(Now when do we get legit Odyssey DLC)

it was already one of my favorite kirby games on release and now its even more one of my favorites

Horses are hard to draw? Honestly, there’s no real reason for them to stop, I just have no real desire to see SBR animated despite it being my favorite.
