Honestly I agree that Piranha Plant is an incredibly stupid choice - but that's why I'm in utter love with the leafy lad. It's nice to see crazy, out-there fighters among the likes of Ridley or King K. Rool - just something totally random and dumb. Not to mention, Piranha Plant's moveset is surprisingly well-sourced. Not much is improvised at all - most of its moves are taken from the various types of Piranha Plants that have appeared in Mario games over the years. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that it's something I never knew I wanted until it was revealed. In any case, I love seeing Piranha Plant in the game and it looks very, very fun to play as. Looking forward to its grand debut in February!

Personally, I'd have to go with on this one. I like (and definitely more than ), but he was never my favorite Street Fighter character, so this choice is a bit easier for me.

I think a Zelda DLC character makes sense in that we have no new Zelda rep, even though we got overhauls and vets back.

It's one of Nintendo's flagship franchises.

I want Impa, don't know if thats likely though.

That's why I was disappointed that Young Link's Final Smash wasn't Fierce Deity...

I find it hilarious (in a very tragic way) that we didn't even get so much as a FD themed alt for Young Link, but we did for BOTW Link. On top of all the aforementioned other little bits that infer it's OOT YL and not MM Young Link.

It's my favorite Zelda game, so believe me, I feel you.

He has a Big the Cat color and I have now officially fallen in love with him.

Ridley. MetaRidley is a lot of extra modeling and he looks really good. Well done.

My post got ignored, but it bears repeating. It is supremely suspicious that there is negligible content for Xenoblade X when its an older title than Xenoblade 2, which received a Mii costume, several spirits, and several music tracks. If Elma's spirit is missing from Ultimate (as well as if there is none or only one Xenoblade X track), then she is as good as confirmed for DLC.

I saw that as well. The lack of any XCX music in Gaur Plain is suspect and Elma is yet to appear as a spirit and wasn't an AT. Personally i'd have her over Rex/Pyra. Her design and gimmick would be awesome in Smash.

And this doesn't get talked about much but the Infantry & Tanks AT was cut as well and so far there's no sign of Andy as a spirit despite Advance Wars being represented with two Spirits so far. I'm starting to think Andy could have been the "retro" character of this game but was cut somewhere in development. Of course this is just a theory until there's evidence of this through datamining. I just think the Infantry & Tanks disappearing the way they did is very suspect considering they would be one of the easiest to port over from the Wii U game.

Even though I don't play him, I'm gonna say MK for his GK and DMK alts.

Close second to Ike and his RD variant though.

Yeah. I was really hoping Young Link would reference Majora's Mask in some significant way.

I'm glad Greninja's actual shiny didn't make the cut. The all black Greninja from the Pokemon games does not look as good as the Black alt Sakurai went with; giving Greninja a colored underbelly makes it look better.

Yeah, in Sheik's case I think that's also kinda nonsense. If I was making the roster, I wouldn't include one-offs from series with relatively static main casts, unless they were extremely popular. Even if that compromised a gimmick. But I'm not making the roster, so what are you gonna do. :/

I'd probably say Ridley, he has so many great color variations, and both a Samus Returns and Meta Ridley alt. I don't really care for him that much, but that's still good stuff.

Pichu would be my first if he had a Spiky ear alt, but he doesn't, so 0/10.
